As a example we produce 2/3s more food now on 1/4 of the land as we did only 50 years ago.   so,  yah,  no such thing as a food shortage that Isn't political motivated.   And, this number is set to go up even higher.

To be honest, those who can afford to create personal food sources are the ones who can actually afford to buy food, and those who can't even afford to buy food can never be able to create food sources themselves because that can't be done for free and you need to at least invest some money in it to be able to produce something useful that you can use on a daily basis, you need to have enough space, land, and all the resources to be able to achieve that.

I have only witnessed food shortages during the pandemic season because people were panic buying and hoarding goods so it was hard for us to look for foods that we need. After the pandemic, I've never seen food shortages anymore. I agree that the reason might be poverty. Foods are actually present everywhere, it's just that some people lack money to sustain their necessities including primary goods.

We had covid for approximately 2 years, then we had a situation, when during first year of war between Russia and Ukraine we had wheat shortage. As minimum it will take 3 years to recover, but in reality it will take more.

What is food shortage for you? You see less food at the store, or you can afford to buy less? First one is shortage, second is your financial situation. Personally, I see no food shortage. If we take wheat shortage problem as example, then I can replace pasta and bread with rice or buckwheat.

That is true food shortages have been a global problem today. With that shortages the cost of food became so expensive because of the situation globally. Climate change, economic downturns, natural disaster, pandemic and the likes are among the cause of food shortages. For us to be able to overcome or to survive food shortages we need to plan of other option to be able to survive. We can start to grown our own vegetables if you have a vacant lot and we can grow different kinds of vegetables that we can consume later on and we can save funds instead of buying to the groceries. We can also preserve some food that can last for a long period of time. Stock up some food like canned goods, rice pasta etc that we can eat in times of food shortages.
