The forum isnt a scam but some of the projects basically in altcoins that launches or being introduced here are scams. Not generalizing it, but typically you could determine if a project is a scam based on their presentation ans moreover on your deep research about it. From ground roots like website, team profiles, and etc.

You could also see some scams being busted herr if you go to this particular thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

You may also see a user that may want to impersonate you in order to scam you.

As for my experience on this forum, it is the other way around. I only know more about scam on this forum and how to avoid them. It depends on you, if you really read new topics and the replies, also making good posts (because if you read what others are posting, you will want to contribute in some discussios), you will understand how this forum will be helpful to you.

I don’t think you explained properly what the forum is all about, why would he call the forum a scam when he’s not paying any money to use it. I suspect you told him of the “benefits” of the forum, anyone would skeptical of a platform where you get paid to make posts. The forum isn’t scam-proof but the community makes it extremely difficult for scammers to thrive here. Make sure to check the trust ratings of members you’re dealing with on the forum, scammers are very easy to identify their script is always too good to be true. @cryptoaddictchie already gave the link to Scam Accusations I believe you will learn a lot from the threads there.

Am a beginner and I was telling a friend about this forum and it's beneficiaries, but it all turns that he said it all a scam so I want to know how to identify scammers and if there is any how can we know them as a beginner.

Just as others have said, Bitcointalk is not a scam. It's a forum for discussing majorly about Bitcoin and crypto in general.
If your friend wants to avoid scammers of being scammed then they probability shouldn't go anywhere near the altcoin section. They should stick to the Bitcoin discussion section and learn whatever it is that they want to learn.

But if he decides that he wants to explore further then he should take note of projects that are offering rewards that are too good to be true and also he or she should try to learn how to research extensively about a project that way they can reduce the risk of them getting involved in a scam project. And they should never trust anyone online no matter what they may say.

It depends on how your introduction went, but sometimes people don't want to learn something new, which is why they will regard anything related to cryptocurrency as a scam because of a previous scam they may have experienced.

Scammers are difficult to identify these days because they take different approaches to scamming, they practice their scamming skills on a regular basis, and they link them to the latest technology that people use.
Anyone who offers you a free way to double your investment is a fraudster.
Anyone who looks desperate for you to invest, or who appears eager only for you to invest in any platform he/she introduces you to, is a scammer.
There are many ways to identify scammers, but you can't know them all. All you need to do is be cautious and avoid being greedy, and study enough so that no one can con you out of something you're supposed to have to know.

... how to identify scammers and if there is any how can we know them as a beginner.

Let me start by asking you this: How do you identify scammers in real life?

Of course, it can be tough to tell if someone is trying to scam you, especially if you're new to something. But there are some things you can look out for. You can, for example, start by asking yourself some questions: Do you know this person or company well enough to trust them? Do they have a good reputation? Are they asking for information or money that seems unusual or unnecessary? Are they being pushy or trying to pressure you into doing something quickly without giving you time to think?

Remember, it's okay to say no if something doesn't feel right. Scammers often rely on people being too naive, afraid or polite to question them, so don't be afraid to stand up for yourself!

There’s a lot of scammer everywhere whenever there’s an interaction P2P even on social media. The easiest way to spot that a user is a scammer is when they PM you first without your consent or permission. You can rely on the trust rating score here to know whether a user is reputable or not. Always look for a green trust member and read their feedback so that you will have a less chance of being scam. Always use an escrow when dealing with someone.

Remember that you will not be scammed if you will not send first your money without having an assurance to secure the item that you are dealing.Trusted Escrow is a must.

Probably the best one can do is twofold:

- Don’t rush into anything just because you think you’re late, or are being pushed into it through some sort of information/pressure.

- Read a heck of a lot here and elsewhere, in order to begin to understand what’s what, what´s meaningful, what’s based on thin air, and so forth.

Scams of some sort are always going to be around, and one is more inclined to fall for them the less informed he is on the matter in broad terms, often blinded by the get rich hook, which is the fastest way to fall for some sort of trap.

Besides the above, obviously ask around the forum whatever, and read through the opinions of those that chip-in. Bear in mind that opinions alone are not facts, and some areas are probably thin in objective and versed opinions (i.e. altcoin sections).

Now I ask, how far do you believe in the answer given by your friend? So you raise another question to this forum. It's not wrong for beginners to ask here, but you also need to immediately believe your friend before you prove it yourself to your friend. In this sophisticated era, it is actually very difficult to get to know scammers, because they are also smart enough to hide behind the new products they offer to everyone. But if you are interested in identifying scammers, I think you need to look in the reputation section of this forum.

Fraudsters are everywhere, even here in bitcointalk, where there have been a few instances of scamming, but very few compared to other social media platforms and even in person, where strangers are attempting to deceive victims who are typically not knowledgeable about crypto currencies. Scams, on the other hand, would be rare if only new members were familiar with bitcointalk practices. New members make up the majority of bitcointalk scam victims. Long-time members always use escrows when dealing with new accounts and members without reputations.

I don't know how he identified the forum in the scam category or not. but while he has no interest in being on the forum, I guess it will be hard for you to explain to him.
the forum has never cheated anyone here. they come here for information and discussion. if what is meant is several scammer projects on the forum, yes they exist. and some people who care, always do an investigation to reduce the risk.

Am a beginner and I was telling a friend about this forum and it's beneficiaries, but it all turns that he said it all a scam so I want to know how to identify scammers and if there is any how can we know them as a beginner.

If your friend said this forum is a scam, what did he see to make that kind of conclusion when he is not registered here or is he here? Try and find out why he has that mindset about this forum. It can be because of the way you told him the type of money he will make as a member of this forum. And since it is hard to find any other site that allows you make money on it, it is very hard to believe such exists. I do not blame your friend.

I want to know how to identify scammers and if there is any how can we know them as a beginner.
You don't have to self research and find scammers. Forum has a trust and flag system that can help newbies to easily recognize scammers.

If you see a members with too many negative trust, negative trust feedback and active flags, it's not good.

"Too good to be true."
the first thing you need to recognize is when you get an offer that is very good, where you will get something for much less money than it is really worth, or you are promised an enormous profit, consider that it is definitely a scam. be aware that you are not so special that a complete stranger on the Internet gives you money and there is no free money.
whatever deal you're doing, always look for someone with reliable references. also, stay away from someone who has many bad feedbacks.

Obviously, its a misconception and you're friend did not even bother to look around to see if his opinion is right, you should have asked your friend why he has the misconception of the forum, you may invite him to look at the best section of this forum which is the Bitcoin section so he can judge if this forum is a scam

If he asks for your private keys or wallet passphrase that is a clear sign of a scammer, there are many signs of scammers if you want to see how scammers work and how they implement their schemes better check the scam accusations.

How experienced is your friend, so that you can listen to his opinion? People tend to call what they don't understand a scam. If you are not an independent person, you can always rely on the opinion of anyone, but if you remain here, then let your friend remain in his opinion; do not prevent him from falling into prejudice. Over time, if you can achieve any positive results, he will change his mind and will run after you with requests for advice on this forum.

Let's make it clear your friend thinks cryptocurrencies are scams or many people out there in bitcointalk are scammers?

Mostly every cryptocurrency is getting launched new can be considered as scam or not really worth to make investment because sooner or later the price will reach zero where as Bitcoin is different and just show the all time price graph to him and he will not say that Bitcoin is scam anymore.

I want to know how to identify scammers and if there is any how can we know them as a beginner.

Honestly, it's hard to tell the Cryptocurrency world is full of surprises and diverse characters and personalities because scammers are good at impersonating people and personalities, we have so many two-faced people in the industry because of the absence of KYC and verification, even known personalities and popular and considered legit platforms are guilty of scamming people.
Scammers are everywhere they can be developers, they can be members of this forum or they can be admins of platforms, the best way not to fall on these scammers is to moderate your greed and always be on alert for signs, you need to know what these signs are.
