Am not sure what does you mean about you put all into it, did you refer to how long you invest to learn Bitcoin or you're used all of your money which is $450 to buy Bitcoin? As long as you can afford to lose all of your $450 and you don't need to use that money to buy stuff in your school, you're good to go.

Does you mean this app? https://www.stockpile.com/

It's a centralized platform and I see they're ask KYC verification, it's not good for long term holding, you need to use hardware wallet since you're still newbie. Make sure you bought it from official store/seller. Anyway this thread is good to learn Security and Privacy Topics on Guides and Protection.

Yes, I do mean stockpile.com. Also, I will talk to my dad tomorrow or very soon to talk to him about transferring my money out of stockpile and into a hardware wallet. I plan on long-term investing my money into btc. Currently, I can afford to lose all of the 450 dollars of bitcoin that I have. It's not a life-changing amount for me or my family. However, I do plan on investing almost every dime I earn from a job/birthday/holiday (I'm not actually 16 I turn 16 literally next week) I am very excited to get a job so I can get more bitcoin, for me it's like gold, in my mind bitcoin is shiny and awesome looking.

Way to go young man! Securing your Bitcoin would be your next step, you need to tell your dad to transfer it immediately to a cold wallet when you have it, or you can use non custodial wallet for the meantime like Electrum.
Stacking your Bitcoin in an exchange or a brokerage isn't safe. It's just matter of time, one of these exchange will be hacked and we don't want that to happen where our Bitcoin are stored.

Currently, I am a sophomore in high school. I learned about btc from my dad and btc blew my mind and I was hooked. I've been pretty much putting all that I can into it for a year and a half now. Are there any tips you guys give me? 2/3 of my bitcoin is in Stockpile and the other third is with my dad (I'm not sure how he's storing it). At this moment I own a total of 0.01798185 bitcoin Smiley
Your story is soo cool. good luck to you  Hold bitcoins securely.  And if you can hold it without selling it, you will own about $1800 when Bitcoin hits $100k. Hold the bitcoins in a good non-custodial wallet like Electrum, Ledger, KeepKey, Trezor etc or you can buy a hardware wallet too
Such events can only be seen posted by Newbie accounts.  However op you might get some Smerit if you post a screenshot of your holding bitcoin with the post
op's story is somewhat suspicious because now is the time for him to have fun and spend money to buy things but at his age he is thinking about his future and taking different approaches and accumulating money through Bitcoin is somewhat mysterious. And he hasn't posted any pictures here as proof of how much Bitcoin he's really hoarding.  I think you got the point right that he could somehow concoct such a story to get Smerit Huh

I've seen so many members who creating fake story or merit fishing thread, but this thread is quite different from the other members. Although I have no proof if he's a genuine user, but since there's nothing suspicious I wouldn't judge @OP to soon.

I'm not quite sure what's the reason you guys need to see the proof of the Bitcoin he hold, but let's say the @OP can sign a message from an address where it's contain 0.01798185 BTC and the oldest transaction history was February 19, 2023 (at the time where this thread was posted), do you guys will send another $450 to his address?

op may not provide a screenshot of his wallet and reveal which wallet he has deposited his bitcoins in due to security reasons but he can post the wallet address here that he has 0.01798185 BTC deposited in the wallet address if he can prove it  Then I'll give him a +1 merit myself. I look forward to the op's reply

@Michael, please don't post pictures and videos, this forum is not what you think, there are security risks of revealing everything about yourself. Stop eating too much sugar and consult your father please?

First, congratulations.
How I wish that I'm able to know bitcoin when I was younger and there are no other things that I have to think of. It's better to hold it on your own if you already know how to keep your keys. That's the major thing that you should know upon holding and owning bitcoin. Also, having that much at your age for an investment, you need to be consistent and learn to control your emotions whenever you see the price of bitcoin going down.

Not sure as well what he truly meant about it because the OP doesn't stated that he's just pouring what he can afford to lose and not all his usable funds as he stated that he's still a sophomore in high school, what the OP has said is that "he is just putting all that he can into it". Nevertheless, the OP has been favored to learn about bitcoin and started his own journey at a young age with the guidance of his father. Well done, young man!

Some 16 year old kid can think mature already, especially if they came from a family who value's money so much and it looks like he is one of it because if you read his story, his dad is the one that introduce Bitcoin to him. I feel that his dad does his best to explain Bitcoin to his kid in an understandable manner.

After all, he is still a kid and he still knows how to enjoy. His family also bought him toys but there is no need for him to share it here as that wasn't important anymore. Pictures as a proof is too easy to be game because someone can just get a screenshot online or they will do some editing but a better way would be to sign a message as what other members have said.

Great going bud. You are quite young to enter into bitcoin and it's impressive you are learning more about it.
Keep learning and keep accumulating more BTC. In the next 10 years you will just be 26 but you will have a lot what others won't have.
In terms of knowledge as well as in terms of wealth. So keep doing what you are doing and stay active in this forum.
