Agreed, to be honest in today's world these tricks won't work. To get rich out of casino without gambling is simply impossible. Maybe with these incidents we can know how people made use of casinos in the past for gambling and other purpose. Nowadays security system is quite high as it have turned to be the place of VIPs.

The security system are high with the casinos since they are protecting big money and the people, so its very rare to read a news like this which can turn into a big problem if you get involve or if you are within the vicinity if that problem occurs. Others don't focus on the fun part but rather take it as a serious note. Anyway, there are still ways to earn in gambling without gambling. It's either through affiliating, promoting, staking on them, and yes, working for them.

Well said, all that mentioned were like risking our life. Maybe we'll get good money, but we don't know how long we can hide ourselves from the police and the outer world. Nowadays the security system is to the advancement, everywhere we're under the surveillance. The best choice is mentioned, affiliate marketing. There's always a risk because nothing on this life comes easy, if you do make money but on something which is illegal then getting caught is really the main risks that you would really be needing to avoid.

We do have our own will and could identify on whats good and whats bad on which it would really be depending into you on which road you would be taking in.

I can name still handful of reputed casinos which is having bankroll investment but the only thing is the returns we can expect is 8% per annum which is high from an investor's point of view whereas for a gambler what only 8% for a year? He will say I can double my money in few hours itself that is the difference between an investor and gambler.

Very interesting article to read, unfortunately most of the stories are illegal and will probably end with us being in jail if we would attempt it. Was a funny read, just not really realistic in today's world. For a Hollywood movie it's a great story, but to do it now in real life I would advice against it. Even if we manage to get our hands on a lot of money like that, we won't be able to enjoy the money. What brings us all the money in the world if we are sitting in jail? I like story number 4 a lot, she won the jackpot but didn't get the money straight away. It always seems so weird that the first reply from the casino is it's was an error an the win is not legit. But why would they then offer her a lower payout? They are trying to cheat her out of the winnings and she fought for her right and got all the money in end. I also like the ending that she donated all the money to charity. At this point it's all about principals, she didn't need the money herself but wanted to make sure her rights are respected.

For small investors, 8% for a year is still their interest. At least, they can still expect a decent return from investing in the casino rather than just playing gambling which will eventually make them lose their money. But for big investors, maybe it will still give them a decent return, but they will look for other ways to get bigger returns.

Targeting the owner reminds me of the "Sleepover bandits" where the robbers visit the house of the owner and then from there they get to deal with how to go into the bank in the morning.

Casino owners however don't become owners if they are not from a crime family. They are bigger than a police district. It's kind of hard to do this stuff these days when every corner of the city is full of cameras. The world gets smaller for criminals because of it. No one gets away nowadays with crimes like these. I have just been reading up on the bomb story in the Harvey's Resort Hotel. What impresses me is how the guy constructed this bomb. He must have paid some professionals. If you read about it, as the author in your excerpt describes, there was no way for the bomb disposal squad to shut it down safely. We all know so many movies where there is at least this one cable you have to cut and then you are fine.

Everyone who saw the series "Bodyguard" on Netflix or "The Hurt Locker" with Jeremy Renner. Every time they defused a bomb I asked myself why those bombs are not just build in a way that they simply can't be defused.

Now I read about this story and this guy made it! But when an FBI professional team can't defuse it, I doubt that John Birges himself could have done it.

The best about the story is that nobody was harmed physically. As a hotel owner it must feel bad. I wonder if an insurance pays for a bomb attack like that?

That's what separates the bomb in the movies and bomb in real life because in the movies, bombs are just made to scare off some people but detonating it is not as complex compared to the real life where there would be so many wires attached on it with almost no hints what wire needed to be cut to turn off the whole thing. Even the experts like the bomb squads doesn't even know how to safely detonate it.
But for the insurance, maybe they haven't got any because some policies are different like for example, the bomb didn't explode on it's own, it's because the feds are so confident that they have everything under control when in-fact they don't know what to do.
