I think BNB is only good for getting rewards from holding it, nothing more, there was no big good events coming from binance nowadays that could drive the increase in its value. instead even their staking rewards also isn't that good anymore. if that is the case investing in ethereum and bitcoin might be a lot better because they are starting to get bullish nowadays.
investing in BNB seems like wasting of money because as history have shown us, this BNB coin isn't rising even in bullish market, I doubt it's gonna have bright future but the fact that this BNB getting backed up by binance is such massive helps for this coin in retaining its value, if not for the fact that this coin is owned by binance I doubt it could even have half of its value, meanwhile bitcoin and ethereum continues to strive.

I don't know if it's too late to buy BNB now or if it's not too late for you but right now, the price is on the decline and I thought maybe you could buy some. But if you are hesitant to buy BNB, I suggest you look for other coins with the same increasing chance. The consideration is that BNB prices are already high, although they could go even higher if there is an altcoin season. And if you still intend to buy BNB, make sure you buy at a price below $300 because that was the previous lowest price of BNB.

If you believe in BNB and dig into it, and learn about its quarterly burning mechanism, you will find the current price is not expensive, and it is still the best upside potential altcoins in topcoin. The risk of BNB is that it belongs to Binance and it is too centralized. I believe the majority of nodes of the BNB blockchain are being managed by CZ and are not distributed like ETH or other altcoins, and if Binance crashes, BNB will definitely be inevitable.

It might not be that expensive for some, but for others, BNB is now $300 and people might think it's better to invest in a cheaper coin. If BNB is too risky to invest in, then I don't think we have any better altcoins to invest in, other than ETH, then BNB is the perfect choice to invest in the altcoin market. All altcoins are centralized and dependent on a certain organization or company, not just BNB. And binance is currently the dominant exchange in the market, if it collapses not only cause the death of BNB but also potentially wipe out more than 50% of this market. That's something no one wants to happen.

I wouldn't say that it depends on the "development" of it but how much it is used. Considering it is probably %50 of all trades in all exchanges, and basically half of all the spot trading happens there, I could say that even if it doesn't develop further, if it keeps this up then BNB will stay valuable.

Right now, it is third highest cryptocurrency and it will stay like this as long as Binance is powerful. On top of that, there were tons of "bad" news regarding binance recently and even with all that negative information that people wrote as fact when it was just a rumor, people didn't leave it and the price kept on going higher anyway.

Also, BNB could be a bigger token in the future given that they are about to relase their next launchpad. It made a huge increase on its price due to its development on the recent years which makes it also a promising token. It seems to me that there is a lot of pressure on Binance right now, this can negatively affect the price of bnb at any time, so it’s better to pay attention to other altcoins now.
