Wtf..  It's weird that I never noticed or it slipped my mind but didn't know there's a prize for guys who get a yellow cap.  Lolol.  Ok ok, will start making some picks again and try to win some free bets.    Tbh I'm starting to get lazy and was giving up as I don't think I could compete with you guys. 

I think around 4 years ago, there wasn't enough people who really got into F1 here at BCT.  Now there are guys who give good insights...  Like the guy who said McLaren and Norris could possibly do well at Silverstone.  I think Norris to finish on the podium spots was lined at around 12.50.

I was that guy  and what is worse is that I didn't manage to put that bet,in fact I got for an hazardous bet with McLaren both teams in the points no at 3.00 and I lost it.Next time I should listen to you for the bets as you do better than me when it comes to betting,not predicting most of the times.

Last year we were only 12 people here and only us were talking in this thread,this year we are more than double and I can see the excitement at the leaderboard,check how close the fight is between many places,meaning this pool is wide open for the prize spots to many many members.

Just realised that we're one race away from the halfway line. Feels like time just slipped by so quickly -- it's gotta be just that I'm paying attention a lot more this season (or at least it feels like it's a nice gap in between club football's summer break).

RB's maybe 1 win away from winning constructor's (rough maths, I'm not very familiar) and Perez even 100 points behind Max is really chipping away at the points left too. Mclaren don't care. first podium in over a century, I wish I'd looked for those kinds of odds... but you know, when you do the tide doesn't go your way...

McLaren kept their promise for Silverstone race and the fact that even Piastri who had not been in good form recently was in 3rd place while Norris in 2nd place means that the upgrades truly have worked out.

I think it will be difficult for both of the McLaren drivers to be on the podium today but surely Lando with his experience can manage to be at least 3rd while for people blaming Perez me included,he for all of us has a good opportunity to repay us all as we bet on him to be on the top 3 and we make some nice amount of money  .

The bell tolls for Perez after another disappointing qualifying performance. They asked Verstappen about Perez's qualifying performance and he said that you should be able to qualify for Q3 with this car. He is right of course as Red Bull have the fastest car on the grid now. Just look at how Albon is much better than him recently with that poor Williams car. 

There was even a rumour like Albon would return to Red Bull but now it is said that he might be brought to Ferrari in case of Sainz's departure. Ricciardo is still the most rumoured driver to replace Perez. Perez has no choice other than climbing to podium again. At least it would be some compensation.

There is no such thing as Sainz departure on the horizont,I think you have not read the news all over the place where Ferrari extended for another two seasons with Sainz while Leclerc is near it too so there is no room for Albon to come to Ferrari,not at least before another 2 seasons end.

I think Perez has still everything under control as long as he can qualify second in points in the end of this season which is easy doable in my opinion considering he has the best car on the grid then he would be renewed his contract,why would want Redbull to ruin things as long as Max wins titles and his team mate is 2nd overall?

I feel like Ferrari did not produce a vehicle this year to be #1. Their only goal is to start second in the standings and wait for the Verstappen to go ahead. Then throwing empty stints and using the tires as far as they can go. After the third lap, the vehicle not only eats the tires, but also finishes it completely , especially if there is another vehicle in front of them. You can understand the imbalance from this: they drive 26 laps of soft tires in the same race, 19 laps of hard tires, and then 19 laps of hard tires again, for some reason. We have Hungary ahead of us, they got a bad result last year, I don't think this year will be any different. What they need to do is call Alonso back for 2 years because they need a tough guy. I'm exaggerating for the point but things are not looking so bright in my opinion.

I wasn't expecting to take the yellow cap this week because things didn't go the way I expected in qualifying session. But the race helped me quite much and I can say especially safety car was a big help.    I picked Leclerc in Norris' place on podium but Norris showed an impressive performance to climb there. As a Tifosi I'm quite unhappy with the race results in this GP at the same time. I have been wishing to see Leclerc in a title race until the end but he still can't. Ferrari still can't pull themselves together and make the right calls for their drivers consistently.

I really don't how long Ferrari can continue like this. Vasseur's arrival hasn't changed things much because the same mistakes are still seen by Ferrari. The change they need the most is to replace the people who are in charge with team strategies with better ones. Otherwise whoever comes to the team Ferrari will stay the same about this topic.

As an Austrian, I have been watching Formula 1 since the times of Gerhard Berger, and until now not many drivers have managed to be very successful at Ferrari and to shape the team, the last driver who managed to correct the mistakes at Ferrari and to have the right strategy was Michael Schumacher. After that it was always a case of self defeat etc. the last few seasons it was even more blatant.

Mercedes were lucky thanks to the safety car and Piastri was the most unlucky driver of the whole race having pitted right before the Safety Car did came in.I think McLaren not only will stay in the same level but surely they would want to upgrade their car even further,Lando together with Zack Brown said that they hope to get that first win for the season in upcoming races and which better than Hungary,a track very difficult to overtake,just taking the pole here for McLaren would be a huge achievement which can be translated further to a race win.

Yes but they were bad in the qualy and really good in the race, but this its a normal in Mercedes this last years. I dont think McClaren can maintain this level because in other years they make the same, having a really impresive race and after that they cant maintain the pace. I remember a race in Spa when Ricciardo was flying but after that they can make anything good.

In case they can make this again, its gonna be a disaster for Ferrari, they are behind Mercedes, Alonso, and maybe behind Mcclaren.

I totally have the same opinion with you. I have also made a good profit already thanks to the free bet I got after taking the yellow cap last week. Aston Martin is also a bit ahead of Ferrari, although they don't show some performance lately, and depend on one driver, Alonso

but overall, it is good to see competition at least for second spot, since watching races to see a winner became boring, since Max is killing it, there is no chance some other driver to win the race, pretty unbelievable to see that

Yeah I know about his contract extension. His new contract is until the end of 2024 for now. There are just rumours out like that but to be honest Sainz is a talented driver and I love the competition between him and Leclerc. Ferrari see their drivers equal now so this makes the competition even tougher.

I was talking about Ricciardo to Red Bull but Ricciardo has been announced as AlphaTauri's new driver in de Vries' place until the end of the season.    Perez's seat must be safe for now. Yeah Max's winning titles is what Red Bull want first but there is a really significant drop in Perez's effort recently anyway. They would like to see both of their drivers on podium as much as possible.

A new big update? Verstappen is already dominating the season and Red Bull will make sure that it stays that way then.    McLaren really got quite near Red Bull taking the British GP into account. Verstappen couldn't finish the race with a big gap by opening it quickly right after SC. This was promising for us to watch a little more competitive races but this news isn't good at all.

I don't think much thing will change for Perez though. Because his main problem is his individual mistakes. Even if he is given a faster car than Verstappen he would still tend to mess it up by making mistakes now.

Same here, been yapping about Ricciardo to get the second drive at Red Bull since the day it was announced that Horner and Helmut agreed to acquire Ricciardo as their reserve driver.  But I think him getting the drive at Alpha Tauri sets him up perfectly to get the second drive at Red Bull.  Perez still has til end of 2024 in his contract.  And Ricciardo needs more track time at real live races to get the rust out and sharpen his skills...

The writing is on the wall imho.  Ricciardo will get seat no. 2 at Red Bull on 2024.

Of course Redbull was not standing in the sun while all other teams worked out their upgrades,Redbull worked out upgrades too.However we have to see how good this upgrade will be as honestly I don't see much room for improvement in a car which is already flying and especially in Hungaroring the track where will go now surely is the least suitable to test upgrades as it is a very slow track,so even if this upgrade is massive as Verstappen is describing it there will be no watchable improvement during the race in my opinion.If the upgrade is truly massive then SPA the legendary track can show all to us of how good this upgrade is.

So, what we are gonna see?, a Falcon 9 from Space X branded like a RedBull and with Max Verstappen driving it?. He its gonna lap everyone.

Sad to see we are not gonna catch them.

About RB/ Alpha Tauri and Ricciardo issue, i was really surpirsed for the really bad performance of Nick De Vries, i know the car its quite bad, but i think he can do more.

Yeah I have also heard of it. It is reported that Red Bull wanted to sign a pre-agreement with him but Ferrari intervened meanwhile and convinced him to sign for themselves. Maybe Norris didn't want to be seen as the second driver at Red Bull. Because the hierarchy would be maintained there as long as Red Bull have Verstappen. But Ferrari don't have such thing now. Leclerc and Sainz are seen equal so this can be very beneficial for Norris to do better things. But I hope we don't have the same mistakes continuing by Ferrari as for strategies by then. 

In addition other rumours are like Sainz could join Audi in 2025 and Leclerc can sign for Mercedes as well.

As already said, I think the writing is on the wall for Perez.  I don't think Helmut Marko and Horner would get Ricciardo back if they didn't have any plans for him to take the second drive in Red Bull.  But I don't think it will be next year as Perez still has until the end of 2024 in his contract.  His days are numbered no matter how good he'll be for the remainder of this season and the next.

Good times ahead for the Aussie.  Would be funny if they get engine troubles on 2026 and cost them a spot or two on the grid for a couple of seasons.  Lol.
