Do you have any financial regrets ?

Life is about choices and we all are on the path led by our choices. It's not easy to talk about life regrets in general because we are/were in quite different situations. To make this thread easier, we just focus on the regrets in finances. I believe many of them can be lessons to learn from. I'll start first. Over a decade ago, I was living in a mega city of my country. At the time, the city was already a metropolitan place where you can meet all people over the world. Of course, the land was scarce and the price of housing was pretty high, nomal people could not afford to buy an apartment, let alone a house. However, one friend of mine was taking to a suburban area for an apartment, super nice but the neighborhood was not fully developed yet. The total cost of that departemtn was about $100,000. Well, I did not have that much money at that time but if I borrowed some from my parents and it was not a problem. Maybe because I was too young and did not get along with my parents at the time, I did not ask for that so I refused the offer and let go of that apartment. A few years later, the suburban area became part of the CBD and the housing price was going up insanely. Today, that apartment I missed is worth at least $1.2 million. Oh my... I hate myself for not buying that apartment every time I think about it.

This kind of regret has been felt by many people, and it will continue to be felt by many of us because, for the most part, we have no idea what the future holds and instead choose to gamble on luck. I share a similar experience with you, despite the fact that my own was not a house but rather a few plots of land in a village close to the capital city. At the time, I had excellent opportunities to acquire the land because I had recently received some cash, but I declined to do so but save it in bank.today, a plot of land is worth thousands of dollars there because the area has been well developed now.

Regret will always be present because of certain situations, and sometimes in our lives do not think too much about the past that can make regret, for example at this time we sell houses with a value of $ 100k then 5 years we regret because the price is $ 150k, this is normal.

We all have had our own fare share of financial regrets and as much as it hurts, I try not to bother or think about it. I invested in a business about $600 and it added some zeros and I was supposed to cash in on my investment but I was so naive and I loss a good amount of money. Like I said I try not to think about it and that doesn't mean I didn't learn my lessons either. I'm more experienced that I was some years ago and there's no way am going to make such mistake again.

I have ever got decent amounts of money from participating in the ICO back 2018 and i used it all to buy real estate that's also my biggest mistake not saving at least some percent for the future hold. Crypto went crazy back 2021 and i might able to earn more than 10x from what i have sold in 2018. I only doubled it from my real estate investment which is a very bad profit.

Im now still stuck in my crypto investment. I dunno when i can get out from there. I just waiting for the price of bitcoin to recover back again to the 60k. That will enough for me to be honest.

Doubling your profit, I would say is not a bad profit. Considering that you have tangible asset which is real estate.
Most alts come and go and for me, what you did was a worthwhile investment going to real estate.
If you invested such amount in crypto, you have no assurance that you will get that 10x from that alt, what if the alt went down the drain before you can even sell your holdings?
Well, we have different perspective on things. Sometimes we can't see the value on what we have done. But don't get too hard on yourself.

Its impossible that you wont really be that fully aware about those possible situations you might faced on specially with the risks in between investing on altcoins and in between real estates.Its impossible that you

couldn't really be able to point out and this is where your own decision whether you would really be proceeding out or not because we do really have different perspective and views on what ever things we do

encounter.I could say that real estate business or investment is really worth it i would say but not all does have that huge money for capital or whatever they would be needing to involved with it
not comparing with crypto investment which you could really be able to invest with fractions and this is the main thing i could see on why they are really that preferring this one into.

I think everyone has made financial mistakes, maybe in a different way. Money mistakes in my life are long stories but indeed they made me have a new mentality and POV about life and business. Until now I'm still in the learning phase to let go and forgive myself. The biggest and noblest capital in life is experience, from that experience it becomes something capital that can sustain all life to rise again. cheers..

Some of my regrets are of course related to cryptocurrencies, if i could sell now i would definitely not be working anymore with a monthly salary of only $380, unfortunately i am impatient and now don't know if i will be as lucky as 6 years ago, and maybe if the bitcoin price can reach $1 million.

I have a few regrets ahh I guess there are some regrets that I made about taking a step or a plan that I made at first was good and ended up messed up because I ruined it myself, believe me everything is not as easy as planned.
but i learn something form that, i need more patience and not easy to make decision and have to think about that.

I have to have regrets so I treat all my mistakes as a learning process. Because you can never say that it was a mistake before the time has passed and you can't do nothing about it. So never regret your decicions boys, just learn and get better

It usually happens to me that whenever I receive cash and don't deposit it into my savings account, I tend to spend that cash until it's all gone. It's the same with those credit card holders that are irresponsible and their spending habits whenever they know that they've got money to spend.
I'm like that but with cash, that's why it is better for me to have no cash on hand because if I do, I'll surely spend it or there will be things that I may like to fill it with that money whether it is important or not necessary at all. It is like that and that's why when I receive money, as much as possible I deposit it quickly to my savings.

I want to focus on the future because I can shape them. But among other financial regrets that I have is my inability to complete the technical course that would have given me a better high-paying job. Due to societal and environmental pressure, I had to abandon a technical education and most of my former coursemates have secured high-salary jobs. I regret leaving that training.

Instead of forgetting you could still remember it, in order to learn from your past negative experiences, so you don't commit the same mistakes anymore futurely. That is the positive side of every mistakes: to allow us learning something new which will improve ourselves as individuals. About the technical course, well, it's never too late to accomplish that. Don't intimidate yourself by others who have already completed it and are earning tons of money. You can reach there too!

Stop comparing yourself to others, it will only trigger a negative feeling that will eventually make you self-pity. In fact, if you can’t still accomplish your technical course at the present, I guess it’s not the only way that you can get a high compensation. Improve yourself and develop your skills, and open yourself to a vast of opportunities around. That way, even if you won’t get your dream job, you can always make a living and earn from it from the different side hustles that will fit your skills. It might even surpass your expected profits later on.

My biggest regret is probably buying 1 coin for $1.50 and selling it for $3, then less than a month later it was listed on binance and hit an ATH of $50  la.  I did a crazy thing in the financial field, it brought me a lot of frustration because of lack of confidence, impatience… that was a big lesson for me. I was really down and felt bad  with that crazy decision for quite some time before realizing and coming back to life.

Very often in life, comparing yourself to others is detrimental to your personal growth as you ignore the background and resources that may have caused your difference and instead you only focus on things that you are not as good as others. Knowing your strenghtens and transforming them into skills/wealth/resources is way better than the unnecessary comparison to other people. Work hard and build your life. I always remind myself of this whenever I get distracted by anything that is a waste of time and energy.

yeah! it's amazing how our minds work, isn't it? It's just human nature; we all have habits we can't seem to break. Oftentimes, it seems as though we're fighting an internal war. How we can be so careless with our money is hilarious to me. However, who am I to pass judgment? It's inevitable, I suppose, given our human nature. Each of us is flawed and has our own peculiarities.. But hey, at least you have the self-awareness to know that you're not good with money! In other words, that's a good thing. You're not blind to your own flaws like those who choose to live in denial. You'll be fine as long as you maintain your Bitcoin

Mine would be not living poor before now. Having access to alot of liquid cash probably made me less creative. I wished i locked up all past earnings just to pretend to be poor and never lack in creativity.

Working for Bitcoin has actually helped refine me. It kind of helped me learn alot about money and "forced" me to practice what I preached.

* Pretending to poor is also the best opportunity to discover your fake friends or people who just "love" you because of your money.

You have to mistake being the best in what you do. Regret should use as inspiration instrument.

In my personal opinion I think everyone has financial regrets especially those who are involved in crypto currency trading have a lot of experience here. One of my financial regrets is the last year Luna incident . And that is that when I saw its price going down, without controlling my emotions, without paying attention to analysis and news, I invested a big fund, and overnight I saw that it has become it's 7/1 . Moreover, there was a bigger regret when I saw that many people had made huge profits by short trading in futures. so that was a one of the big financial regret of my last.

Thanks for that, I guess I need that today. That's why it's better to keep my finances credited to my accounts and as well as used to buy bitcoin because that's much better before I spend it. There's something that urges me to spend me but it's better to be kept private even we're in a forum.
I've learned a lot and still learning a lot about finances and investments and that's one financial regret that I have. Other than that, I'm happy with my current situation, no pressure at all unlike those people that I have met years ago, it seems that they are chasing something in life but it cannot be chased.

We cannot look into the future, so often our actions and deeds are erroneous, which we can later regret. Everyone makes mistakes, no matter how smart and wise they are. On this forum, probably, many regret either that they did not enter the world of cryptocurrency much earlier, or that they did not purchase bitcoins and other coins when they cost thousands of times cheaper, or that they did not take certain actions to buy and sell them during latest market growth in 2021. There will be many more such mistakes. It is important that we usually draw the necessary conclusions and learn from our mistakes.
