In principle you are right, but if you place a bet because you gamble and this is because of an addiction, the story will be different. Someone who places 100k and loses that bet, few lessons can be learned from that. I think what he means by positive emotions is when he already knows the risks of losing and he is ready to lose money. It sounds like a joke, but believe me there are lots of people like that who gamble for fun and to satisfy what he wants to do. The outcome of a bet is not mostly controlled by the casino, it all depends on the kind of bet we are doing whether it is the one where a betting platform would have full edge over the winnings or the one whether winning a bet is not demined by the betting platform. I`m in such kind of gambling about 10-15 years and still gamble when i want. And i don`t want to gamble more often. This is my way of relax. And i can`t say that gambling for me costs much more than 2 football matches per month. All people are different, and something that is good for me, can be not so good(at least) for someone else.
