thanks for the love guys:)

this will be much better than the last go around (we hope) but still a day or two away. we want this up and running just as much as you do:)

thanks

Any update on this pool?  From what I've seen of your posts as of late (or at least since that jack-ass ran out on your previous operation) you're a big fan of the p2pool stuff and if I recall correctly you were looking into some hybrid private-p2pool?  What's your new venture going to look like?  Inquiring minds want to know...

I was going to give a percent of the money to p2pool but I'm really put off on their .5% hidden fee. I need to see how aware people are of this before I move in that direction.
I definitely wasn't aware of this fee.

It isn't "hidden", and you can adjust the fee to whatever you want, including disabled (no fee at all). I believe that recent versions have it disabled by default anyway.

I can confirm that on the version I deployed recently for Bitcoin Syndicate (which was the most recent version as of a week or two ago) it was disabled by default. And also clearly marked and explained in the config/readme

Shit goes down all the time, this was an experiment and he resolved everything when he was able. He did not run out and dealt with the issues once he was able to. People have issues in real life and BTC does not out weigh family. You are really ignorant on what is going on and should politely STFU. We agreed that to move on to the next level that we would need someone with more time to work on this.

I really like p2p and liked p2pool. I was going to give a percent of the money to p2pool but I'm really put off on their .5% hidden fee. I need to see how aware people are of this before I move in that direction. In the future I will be setting up a hybrid p2p pool of some wort but we are just trying to get operational first.

Right now we will mostly be hopping prop pools but we will grow in in the p2p direction.

Thanks.

Mea Culpa Eveofwar, the last posts I saw were not flattering to you...this was from Goat on the on 2/19/2012:

Quote
Well I think it is about time to out the server guy...

He is Eveofwar and has not made any effort to contact me. I am going to assume he is in a car accident or jail or something like that because it makes no sense for him to run.

He is also located in Las Vegas so if a trusted member would like to try and make contact with him that might be helpful. I have an idea where he might be but I can't check from Thailand.

I am open to any other ideas as I would like to get this resolved ASAP.

Also we are starting over with a new server guy and will have all the features that members have been asking for. The stability should be improved as well. This should be up in a week or so.

Sorry again guys for all the trouble:(

There does not appear to be anything between that post and this that explains what truly happened (may have been another thread?).

Regarding the hidden fee, you mean the auto-donate which can be disabled?  I believe forrestv has setup a payment address that splits between his dev efforts, the p2pool.info website and paying a reward back into the pool.  Perhaps he will funnel the 0.5% default fee to that address to grow a larger adoption rate.  P2pool seems to have hit critical mass in the ~300GH/s range for some reason.

Ready for the first testers of the newest version. Might be a bit rough. This is only open to members of the first version right now, we hope to be fully operational soon.

If you want to be a first tester go to #tygrr on freenode a.s.a.p. Thanks.

Hi Goat,

I seem to be having some problems with connecting to the pool using CGminer, when I enter the pool information the program just stands still and nothing happens. I also tried using GUIminer and then it had connection issues, is this due to that the server is down or is it just something wrong with my mining software?

Thanks

@DeaDTerra: same here, pool seems down a lot. Beta testing and scaling I guess (I assume/hope the problem isn't on my side).

Okay good that it's not on my side, Indeed I will just fix so that I have a good backup pool and run on TyGrr pool when it's stable again Smiley

They just did a fairly major software upgrade  Grin

If any of you guys use https://github.com/cdhowie/Bitcoin-mining-proxy however you'll get really nice and smooth rollovers. It's well worth running for more or less hassle free rollovers etc. You need to change the output format though to json from json-rpc to use it properly with ecoinpool pools.
