When we were young, we worked not only for ourselves but also for our family, children, and parents…a hundred things to take care of in this tumultuous life. It can be said that getting some old age savings is not an easy thing.

Don't lose your interest in life just because your good friend died. There's more to life and you can have sorrow temporarily but don't let that stop your interest in life. As we grow older, we want to keep things simple, when we're younger what we do is to have fun so we're all done with that but that doesn't mean old folks can't also have fun. We're all working with the best that we can so that we can have a good life and enjoy things that we wanna enjoy. But don't settle for less when we get older because the battle of life gets tougher, too many things are changing and we can't depend on the younger ones in our family as we get older. It's like enjoying the things that we've got now and then not to forget that we've got bigger things that we're preparing in the future.

I feel sorry for your loss of doctor friends. Losing sleep and being down is quite normal for a big loss in life and I wouldn't say anything against that. The thing that you have lost all the interest in life is temporary. I have been there when my dear cousin (the son of my father's older brother) died in a car accident. He was five years older than me and we got along well. He always told me to study hard and behave, although he was a naughty and un-disciplined boy over two decades ago. I cried for many days after he died and even to this day, I always cry when I think of him. But sooner or later, you'll get together and cherish the life you have now. Those who have gone will remind us of the valuable moments we still have on earth. Cheer up.

The last part of your statement is where some people actually feel like they are struggling in life, simply because they can't afford to buy what they WANT. Take note, the WANTS not the Necessities. I was once like this when I was still starting to build up myself and the career that I wanted to take the path of. I was forcing to buy things which were out of my financial ability and owed a lot of debt, then eventually struggle to pay them back. I have to work overtime just to catch up with my bills and necessities and at the same time avoid penalties for not paying the debts in due time. So, from there I've realized If I haven't had that kind of debt, I could have enjoyed my life by not spending too much time at work and not worrying much about paying for the things that I needed. The things that you want can always wait, so - a little financial sacrifices will bring you closer to the things you want to purchase without owning someone and paying for the interest.

I think I will not grow old. The medical condition I am going through is making me realize that I might die early

I just remember hearing on the news that someone saw huge amounts of money hidden in the house, which were the savings of their father before he died. The family found out after a few years of his death, but by that time the money had no value as it was old paper money, which they also couldn't exchange to the banks as it had already been demonetized by the banks. This is really the problem if we just save and no one knows, and if you die, your family can't take it, unlike if you had bought land and a close family member or relative would have the land if you died.
