First you will have to read their kyc compliance to know the rules on their kyc procession, is your documents original or not valid any more?
If your kyc documents are not valid and you take it for kyc it may fails to process.
Then you must make sure your documents such as passports, driving license, National Identity card or whatever that qualifies you or him to be a citizen of their country must be valid, free from sunlight reflection or not to be blurry and must be visually seen.

Then for deposit bonuses, you must also check the validity of the bonus how it will last before disappearance. If I didn't make a mistake, they would have processed and fixed everything so I could withdraw all the money. After all, I already verified my account.

You could probably consider the casino to be shady if they did not ask for KYC before you played, you won and then tried to withdraw. I am not an advocate of KYC and I believe that any casino could ask any customer about it whenever they like, and considering this is Bitcoin, not a lot of people would want to complete it unless it is a significant portion of what they own or they feel as though they have no choice. I suppose that it only can be considered a scam if you complete KYC and you still don't receive your withdrawal. At this point they casino has scammed you out of both your personal information and your money, and it should definitely be reported.

Check for the terms which you have agreed when you engage into their platform. It should be on the TOS; if KYC is rewuired on their platform to do function, then you have no other choice but to comply. But if changes on their policies were implemented in the middle of that casino's service to their players, and without any formal indtroduction and explanationof the changes, then I guess you can already acuse them as fraud especially if they refuse to release your funds because of the changes made. Problem is, tagging them red would do what? If a platform is unregistered, then youd worry nothing if anything happen with your fund because you guys may sue them. Well, get used to it before you or your friends play at casino platforms, both new casinos and casinos in general. always try to read the available ToS. because, it's important and to avoid things like you tell in this thread. Depends on how you identify a "scam". If you mean an operation that was designed to defraud players out of their money - then it depends.
To give them the benefit of the doubt, it could be that they require some additional KYC above a certain level of deposit/withdrawal. But in such case they have to provide an alternative way of verification (assuming the player is able to produce all required documents).
They cannot just say "our verification system says No" and take someone's money. That would be a 100% scam.

But even if they do pay out those $8k eventually, not properly informing players (upon signing up) on any KYC requirements is highly unethical. People may simply not wish to share their sensitive information with gambling site and they cannot keep their funds hostage.

If this relates to the same person that got denied their withdrawal, I would focus on getting that money out and be done with that site and not worry about any bonuses.
But yes, if someone was promised a bonus and they didn't receive it, that's an unethical practice for sure, but not necessarily a scam, provided you could withdraw your initial deposit (with no extra fees).

That is why I always verify myself up to level 2 KYC in most reputable ones casinos which I consider them extremely trustworthy,so when that day comes that I hit a big win I would not be having such problems at all.I don't care much about KYC when the casino where I am playing at is trusted and respected in this forum and what is most important for me,that their support is knowledgeable and that has been my case with the supports of such casinos.

The first thing about KYC and its failed process, there can be some questionable information about your details but that doesn't mean a casino is a scam because they'll allow you to resend those documents.
The second one about those bonuses, are you sure that you're eligible for the bonus? Even if you are, maybe, they've reached the cap and that's why you've missed that moment.
