I understand the need for people who know that they cannot control themselves well to stay away from gambling because some gamblers start as responsible before becoming irresponsible after some time, but if you are not like that and you are already a gambler, as much as there are negative sides to gambling, gambling has some positive side too that we often neglect to emphasize. I think the saying, "gamble responsibly" has become a chant that are being repeated over and over again, just so that people can continue doing it, without feeling guilty about the consequences.  

There should be some sort of preventative action being taken to screen gamblers that might be more prone to get addictive to gambling. Also, gambling addiction does not happen over night... it is usually a long-term bad habit.... so casinos should implement restrictions to limit gambling times for people who are gambling for too long periods and also people who make reckless bets.

A great deal of those people have never looked at the math behind the games or do not understand it to begin with, after all the randomness of the games can lead some people to deceive themselves into believing they can win at gambling, an example of this is the martingale strategy, which is a strategy many gamblers have come up on their own and on the surface it may look like a good idea, but when you put it into practice you realize how ineffective really is, unfortunately this basically means losing all the money you had at the casino so you can learn a very expensive lesson, and even then there are a few people out there that after getting such dismal results they refuse to give up.

That is just a slang,a standard slogan which most gambling companies are forced by almost all the governments where they have their license from to put it in their website.In UK for example in every betfair,bet365,pinnacle and william hill to name a few bookmakers,their ads on TV end exactly with this slogan,gamble responsibly.

There is a problem though because as much as you can force this slogan all the people are different from each other and all the people have different characters so it does not work,people who fall to addiction need real professional help and not advises which anyone of us that has a lot of experience in gambling and has been a gamble for many years without signs of addiction can give.A lot more should be done in such regard although I like the advises here in general.

But we have seen few users in this forum asking someone to bet behalf of them or they're complaining because the casino limit their bet, I don't think if a gambler keep losing on the casino, his account will get limit. A casino will limit someone account when the gambler mostly win and take their money.

You can't really believe but there are some gamblers who are destined to become a gambler and make living with this. But unfortunately, the majority are losing their money while chasing their losses. Because the truth is that gamblers make win only a few times while losing several times. If we have to record the amount we lose compared to the amount we win, yes it is certainly we lose more.

The main difference between them and gamblers is that they don't take any risk trying to predict who's going to win a certain game (well, mostly) as gamblers place bets on both sides and they take a "cut" from the bets.

A gambler who risks $1000 would win $900 for instance on an under/over bet, so 10% of his balance is automatically going to the bookmaker, even if he/she wins the bet, so a pure math shows if you do that many times you would end up losing.

But still, it hasn't bothered or affected so many people from gambling, they know they are going to lose and yet they "love" it...
