Every investment is high risk especially when you invest a high volatile asset like Bitcoin,it is only better than gambling when you invest now and you wait in the long term and only sell Bitcoin after has increased in price from the moment you invested.If you want to do daily trading with it then there is nothing different from gambling as for me trading is the same as gambling because in both cases you cannot predict the future.

Both investing in Bitcoin and gambling can be profitable. However, it's harder to make a profit in gambling compared to investing, as gambling requires excellent skills to be profitable. Yes, you can also be profitable in the long run as long as you choose the right form of gambling. I'm referring to skill-based gambling, such as sports betting.

However you have taken the right decision to gamble less as in the long run this will be beneficial to you.

It's safe to say that you should only gamble what you can afford. Personally, I could spend a lot of time gambling because I enjoy it, but I always stay disciplined and not gamble beyond my limit.

There's no we're in the world that gambling can be described as investment neither investment likened to be gambling. For in all sense of debate's the line of difference is clear for even the blind to notice.

There are certain arguments we should just not exert energy on as it's just a waste of time and energy only to prove a point tht needless to say isn't necessary. Investing in an asset as Bitcoin is not gambling, if you have a plan or if you are into it for the long term. Actually, I recall reading some news a couple of years ago about a study performed by some university, they gave some money to gamblers and make them trade Bitcoin on an exchange, they lost all they money, because im the end they did not even have a plan and did not even know how the read charts or indicators.

It's true because Bitcoin is an investment if you are doing spot trading(different matter if it's futures trading) since gambling is a source of entertainment and not an instrument to get passive profit. There's a big difference in the purpose of both subjects but I really understand the struggle to explain your point to a gambler since they categorized all risk as gambling even if it's an investment.

Why not just yield for their own satisfaction? It will show how mature you are by ending the argument because you knew exactly what the truth was. Yielding to them will not decrease your masculinity or investment.

Just yourself elaborated it clearly what is the difference, if you still want to categorise then I would like to say day trading is more related to gambling but not entirely similar with playing a casino game but we can resemble it with sport betting and day trading cause both involves analysis, research, decision making ability at the right time.

Apart from this long term investment is purely different from gambling cause the reason is different and if someone is doing gambling to make money then they are doing it wrong and blame others for their mistakes which shouldn't be taken into consideration at all, just let them realise with the profits you make from investing on Bitcoin.

They will not because they cannot show proof that they made a profit from gambling because no one really can, your friends are ignorant about investing in Cryptocurrency, yes there is volatility but if you know when is the right time to buy and to sell you can make a profit, on gambling you can try all methods but that will lead you to losses.

Normally, investing in Bitcoin should not be qualified to be considered as a form of gambling. However, if you do not have any idea of what you should be doing with respect to trading of bitcoin, then that might be considered as one. Not just with bitcoin, it can also be applied to other form of investment or trades... So yeah, it might be categorized as "gambling" for some, BUT not pure gambling compared to like when you are playing slots.

It is true that the risks of crypto investment are more manageable compared to gambling. Friends like to do some leg pulling whenever there is a chance. Gamblers doing that to an apparent crypto-nerd is just that. Then again, you invest not just money into Bitcoin, you also invest certain beliefs, adopt a certain mindset towards savings, cryptography and the difference that open source and decentralization could possibly make to the world.

I am pretty sure investing and gambling has got various differences and they are not same at all. Investing is pre-planned, it has got proper process of doing it and its personal choice when it comes to “when to book profit”, “how to book profit” and much more.

On the other hand gambling is putting your money into system which is based on algorithm with some volatility to it all the time. Some times you win or sometimes you lose and there is no other outcome to it. This is based on “unplanned” process. You are putting money in a slot or on game and there are variable odds which decides the fate of your investment.

That's true though as i've experienced both but I understand their point, i'd also put Bitcoin under gambling but on the lesser side of it because having experience helps and your wins and losses aren't set permanently until you sell your coins.

With casino gambling, it's too luck reliant and it's usually a one-time deal as you can't go back after clicking the bet button and even though there is an option to cash out on certain bets you're always starting on the losing side because of the house edge.

This sounds weird. How could you be saying this that your friends make you look like an addict. They are your friends and should know you better likewise you knowing them too as you have said. From my own understanding, bitcoin investment and gambling are two different things.

Bitcoin investment is in two ways;
1. Long term investment: ie you buying to hold for a long period of time whether bear or bull till the price gets to a  reasonable high price you have as a target point of sales
2. Short term investment: or when you are holding for just a little time and this are mostly done by traders who apply their trading Skil to get good daily trading profit irrespective of the market trend or conditions. The are able to do this through charts and graphs of how the market trend flows.


Gambling is you playing or betting a reasonable amount of money  or a valuable on an exercise or a game you deemed fit for fun  with a mindset of you taking risk and accepting the outcome of the contest or result as it is.

There's no point on making out some argumentations with your friends in regarding about bitcoin investing and if they call it as gambling then let them be on what are the things that they would really be believing.
They would really be pushing out on what they do believe and although they do have some point because investing is some sort of doing some gambling since you are really putting up some risks with your money on investing into something but since you are applying analysis into it then it would really be that much considered to be one. They cant show you something as proof that they are making money with gambling considering
that gambling for too long would really means that you are really that on negative side. There's no need to argue or to prove out that you are right, you would be able to find out for yourself that you are right.
You do make out money on long term and while they are not. You would be finding sooner or later that they would be asking on how you do bitcoin investment on the time that they do see that you are progressing

Well everyone has an opinion, and that is what you should first know. Secondly because of everyone has an opinion does not mean that all their opinions are correct. This is one example of it. There is a huge difference between investing and gambling, and if you were to spend more of your money on one of the two options, investing should be your choice as someone more enlightened that others.

In investing, although there are risk involved, there is a higher degree of certainty that profit will be made tomorrow than gambling, it is not the same as gambling that although there is a chance to become rich from it, it is very slim. Investing is a healthier behavior to adopt than gambling.

If you asked me, the comparison is not making sense. I don't even consider it as worthy of discussion to argue because generally, both gambling (as in the usual gambling) and anything related to crypto e.g. trading, investment, etc. have a different approach.

Basically, everything you risk with money can be considered gambling but remember, it's not that you are really into usual gambling depending on what kind of investment it is. There are lots of approaches for that in order to make it profitable in the long run.

Bottom line, it's totally nonsense to compare the possible generated profits between the usual gambling and bitcoin investment.

I don't like discussing my investment with people except we are like minds. I could introduce people to Bitcoin but my investment in the sector is personal.

Bitcoin like fiat can be used for gambling but you cannot compare gambling with Bitcoin investment or trading. The only comparison might be that both of them involve different levels of risk. Investing in bitcoin is like putting your money in any other sector. An example is buying land in an underdeveloped area and waiting for some time for the area to develop and selling it at a higher price. While gambling is like putting your money in a machine hoping that it will come out in double or triple fold. Gaming depends mostly on luck, while investment combines knowledge, patience, and luck.
