A few days ago, I saw a KOL with a large number of fans on Twitter. He was recommending a project recommended by many KOLs. As long as he followed his guidelines, he could get more airdrop tokens. As a result, when I clicked on the link, connect When my little fox wallet is signed and confirmed, my assets will be reset to zero. I checked the data on the chain, and in a short period of time, he actually defrauded more than 20,000 US dollars in digital currency, which is terrible.

Scamming 101: "You can easily scam people that want to scam you."

I am receiving many emails that promise me free money every day. Do I get greedy and click them links? No. If I did, then I would lose everything in my PC.

These scammers using people's greed against them and it is one of the most profitable business models ever existed. Better than owning a casino probably because they don't even pay any taxes.

This is true not only for Twitter, but for almost all social media platforms. Especially on Facebook, there are too many scam ads. Moreover, these ads are given directly to Facebook and are shown as sponsor ads. More so, it says that this amount of rewards or this exchange gives this award to new members via exchange platforms, please log in and check it immediately. As soon as you enter your email and password, your information is stolen. Definitely check the ads you open. It's good to be careful.
Yes, these scam ads are seen a lot on social media platforms. But most of the time, scam ads like those seen on Telegram are sent. We have to stay far away from these scam ads and scam links. If we use these links  If we don't follow them, we will face many problems. All the information can be stolen by someone else for a little mistake, so we must always be careful.

It's unfortunate that scammers take advantage of people's desire to make quick profits in the crypto space. Greed and the promise of easy money can blind individuals to the risks involved and leave them vulnerable to fraud. New entrants into the crypto space must understand that legitimate investments take time and thorough research. So education and awareness are key to protecting yourself from scams. Newcomers should take the time to learn about cryptocurrency basics, blockchain technology, and investment strategies. Furthermore, be cautious and skeptical when it comes to investment opportunities, especially on social media platforms. This will prevent you from ever investing more than you can afford to lose.
That has been life for a long time, almost everyone who ever got scammed had that going for them because they were looking for a way of making money. I know that it is not going to end up with easy fixes, I know this, and you probably know this, but there are too many people who do not know it.

There are too many people who end up with nothing at all in the end and we are going to end up with a proper investment whereas they will end up with scams. If someone tells you that you could get rich quick, know that you can't, just get away from there and just stay as away from it as possible. I know that it hasn't been a thing for a long time but that was the case, that was the issue and I try to stay away from it as much as I possibly could and so should everyone else.

I experience this kind of scams before, so now i learned a lot if there are link in social media i never click it and i always delete every time i see some link on google or even in email i always delete it for safety and now i never loss funds, i only open a link and sometimes connect to my zero balance wallet gor sure i will not loss everything because it is already zero balance.
The best way is to delete it and block it immediately. Do not open any links when you get a linki message that indicates phishing. I also received many phishing emails and private messages on twitter. If you really want to connect with new DApps, it is better to use a new wallet that is not filled with any assets.
Be careful too because there are many ways fraudsters can steal your assets.

Twitter follower can be faked by bots. Scammers is now investing on their account by boosting their followers and paying for the verified check mark logo to make their account legit. There’s a lot of dangerous tweet all over twitter and you should not connect your wallet on random link provided by someone on social since there’s a possibility that the account is hacked or a serial scammer.

Twitter now have a feature that a user can notify all users that shares same interest on his post without the need to follow this specific Kol. Twitter ads is worst now and very beneficial for scammer. Stay away on twitter if you are not good on filtering scam to legit announcements.

I mean it is Twitter who would you trust in that scenario already. That's Twitter where most of the people there are claiming to be expert. I had encountered the similar scam as yours but mine was a little different wherein they emailed me their website to claim my token and to make themselves look legitimate, they indicated that they're in partnership with MEW which is more alarming to me to be fair, lol.

Almost got my wallet swept by these scums.

See those hot singles following your dummy account in Twitter? Yeah they're everywhere and now even fake bots are taking over there.

That's why don't be greedy for looking a free airdrop in any social media, the chance you will get a worthy airdrop is really small and the chance you can get scammed is high, not to mention you have a chance to lose all of your tokens.

Secondary phone is really need in this case, you need to use a second phone to click a random or unsafe link and make sure there's no important or personal information in this phone, so even though your phone has a malware, you will not lose anything.

I would say everywhere in crypto space. Even in discord that is claimed to be safer than telegram is no longer safe. Projects discord accounts are being hacked and the hackers take over the account and send scamming link with fake airdrop info so users can get scammed.

Orbiter finance discord account recently got hacked and many members of their discord got affected because they clicked on the fake link posted by the hackers about the upcoming orb airdrop.
People should be extremely careful because these scammers and hackers are very determined.

Why do you follow the left links and even more so subscribe to incomprehensible sites? This is the first unwritten truth, do not trust and check several times before signing. Especially in social networks, it's clear that scammers are on the alert

When there is free money, people will always be greedy. In the beginning, I also fell for these scams like: "I will give 1 ETH to everybody that likes and comments on my post". In the back of your mind, you know it is a scam but you think it is free money and will still fall for it. On Twitter, these kind of scams are everywhere, so that is one of the reasons that I am barely active on Twitter.

Now many accounts on twitter with blue ticks offer promising projects that is a trap because we don't always trust blue tick accounts basically they always cheat by providing links that lead to phishing sites, so it's no wonder there are many ways for them to cheat many people in other ways, including DMs from Twitter and also messages from Gmail, so many people came offering prizes or winning prizes, which obviously we have to be able to verify properly.
Some scammers are buying old accounts just to fulfill their plans. People easily fall into tricks if someone messages them talking about earning a HUGE amount of profit from investing something and much more if they offer about receiving it from doing nothing and instantly. And by using that old social media account and influential name, they'll think that they are talking to the right person and the real owner of the said account. It is a very common issue these days, yet, if you are analyzing the situation and stop being greedy, you could really say "it is a scam".

When a newbie enters the crypto world, everything seems real to them, so they fall into the trap of seeing various tempting posts on social media. Scammers are now on the rise everywhere, including on Twitter, coming up with a variety of advanced scamming ideas that sometimes confuse even experienced crypto users. So there is a need to find a way to keep crypto users safe by raising awareness, as many crypto users lose their entire funds by falling victim to scammers.

For me a large number of followers does not mean they can be trusted. I meet a lot of Twitter users who have tens of thousands of followers and they are people who are hunting for referral links. Usually they are airdrop or giveaway hunters.

Maybe only verified Twitter accounts can be trusted. I apologize for the misfortune that has befallen you. Maybe this can be a lesson for other members so they can be careful when participating in airdrops. I honestly don't like Airdrops asking for KYC. Because for me personal data is more important than tens of dollars.
While verified Twitter accounts are generally trusted, it is important to note that they can still be involved in scams, albeit not by directly entering your DMs and sending messages. It has been observed that some YouTubers, who often possess verified accounts, subtly aid in cryptocurrency scams.

It's been long since I visited my twitter handle and my other social media accounts are becoming idles and inactive lately and this is because I discovered that most of the information shared on those social media lack fact and authenticity and this is no different from fuds and rumours that can mislead their audience.

So the best possible practice is to avoid them in all totality or be selective in the kind of information you digest from social media like Twitter.

Those need to be identified and reported. What these account holders does is similar to providing paid reviews for services. For what they received as reward these people promote through the social media handles. All around the internet we were able to see more and more scam and fraudulent acts. We should know how to differentiate the legitimate one from the scam. Compared to the past days of social media platforms flooded with scams and different schemes, now there is better cleanup.

I checked the data on the chain, and in a short period of time, he actually defrauded more than 20,000 US dollars in digital currency, which is terrible.
you can’t be so gullible, even if he has a large number of subscribers, this does not mean that he is not a scammer, so you need to be careful today, and in general I don’t pay attention to suspicious links that are posted on social networks and you are advised to do the same to do not become a victim of any scammers

Twitter and telegram is the hotspot platforms of scammers. Just avoid clicking link or interacting on this casino especially if you are a newbie or don't really have idea what you are doing. These scammers are doing anything to scam people like joining the current trend, impersonate influencers and even make smart contracts just to scam people. I believe that even crypto veterans can possibly be victimized by this scammers because some of them are really good to it. Just avoid using twitter if you find it as a threat or just don't click links that you think is harmful.
You forgot to mention Facebook. It is the leading platform and it is more user-friendly than the two so expect that scammers will lurk here the most. If the link just randomly pop up from a random person, chances are that it was a scam so we must avoid. Even if you know it already, don't ever mess around with it because it can still potentially harm you. Joining the trend is one of the easy ways for a scammer to scam people because who doesn't like the trend?

But, it can be easy to spot a fake influencer because usually legit ones have a verified tag or a little check sign beside their names. No need to avoid Twitter or other social media sites completely as they are useful to us. We only need to follow the safety protocols.

But why should you need to join airdrops when all of those are scam, worthless nowadays. potential airdrops are available but rarely. But Twitter, telegram and others platforms are used to fraud with people, in most of the cases. As a result, you are a example that what can happened. Although Anyone can join if wish but DYOR. But it is advised never connect with their website or sending fund to have eligible for that airdrop or you'll lost everything
