One thing I will be so much interested in this season's champions league is the team that will win the champions league trophy,whether it will be a Seria A tram,or an English team or a Lalliga or Bundesliga team.We all know that the defending champions are Manchester City,and they are an England team which to me means that English team are more dominant than any other team in the world.We know that Mancity is the best team in the world at the moment,but I'm not sure Whether they will be able to defend their champions league tittle,or they will give it up to another team from another league.But I will live it if an English team should win it again.

Since Manchester City won the Manchester City in the last season of the Champions League currently people look at this team as the first chance to win the tournament for another time but the Manchester City we see right now is far from the Manchester City we see in the last season and they lose much power.
Manchester City currently is not in the best form and they are racing with other teams in the premier league while the situation in Manchester City is not as good as other teams.
Personally, I don't think if they can win the Champions League for another time in this season.

No wonder Manchester City are still considered the strongest candidate to return to winning the Champions League this season, because their appearance has not decreased much. Although there is a decline, it is not so significant, especially if they bring in new ammunition that can complement their weaknesses this season.
Now teams from La Liga dominate the round of 16, there are 4 teams that are here now. They are also highly considered, especially there is the name Real Madrid which we know they are a team that has an above average mentality when in the Champions League. I think it is rather the exception than the rule that a team which is performing bad in the domestic league is one of the strongest teams in the Champions League. Yes I know that now some people will come up with examples, like Sevilla and how they won the Europa League last season when they were so bad in La Liga. But where is Sevilla now? There is a correlation between the overall performance of a team in the league and the other competitions, but yes there are exceptions of course.

Some teams have poor performance in domestic league but success with quit well performance in Champion League, difference with Sevilla performance in this season not only poor in La Liga but also failed and finish on bottom standings in Champion League group phase. But another teams Napoli have quit well performance in Champion League and success qualify to knock out round although with 2nd standings finish position but they have poor and inconsistency performance in domestic league.
I think domestic league and Champion League have difference atmosphere and some teams focus with quit well performance in Champion League but they have poor performance when playing in domestic league.

Pep Guardiola have the morale to explore the performance of his club in every UCL and top phases they found themselves, no relenting efforts because they've bounce back to glory.

I think PSV will win because I see from Dortmund's pretty bad performance in their last five matches in the league.

Dortmund isn't a team that should be underestimated even if they at any point show some weakness, they are such a team that they can show weakness against a certain team and tomorrow they show so much strength against another which is one reason I said they shouldn't at any point be underestimated even if they show weakness.

PSV on the other side is also another very good team in their domestic league, they are topping the standing in the eredivisie with a very large margin as against others such that it will take other winning over four games. consecutively at once and PSV loosing in same manner aswell to be able to get at PSV so this champions league draw between PSV and Dortmund I don't expect to see any easy win from either side but some entertainment and hoping the best side wins . Dortmund has not taken their bundesliga games as serious as they do with the champions league so I think judging them by their bundesliga performance may not be a complete judgement.

I have to agree with you that local league and champions league have different atmosphere.  The issue of a team performing well in the Champions League but in awful condition in local league and vice versa did not start today. We have seen teams exhibit same thing even the big clubs like Manchester city and Real Madrid.

Take Real Madrid for instance, I am witness to when they were in a poor form in the laliga but in that same season, they were able to win the champions league.  Again,  present Manchester City is not in a good form in the English Premier League but they have a flawless record in the English Premier League.

Sarri and his side have dropped a good form this season, they are not the club to hold down Bayern Munich honestly.
