Barcelona got bad news last night after two main players Frankie de Jong and Pedri have out on first half match against Athletic Bilbao after serious injured when potential will absent for the second leg match in Champion League against Napoli. Its very bad news because Barcelona position not comfort yet with the first leg match is draw and I don't think who will be compete for replacing both midfielder crucial position for Barcelona.
Left one week later before facing Napoli but I don't sure between Pedri and Frenkie de Jong will get faster recovery from injury, Xavi Hernandez must looking other alternatives for replacing both of them position and can perform well. Yes, it is absolutely true that no team will underestimate its opponent in the round of 16. The Champions League, The Europa League and the Conference League are bringing in a new system for the group stage from next season(2024-25). I'll explain concerning Champions league as it is relevant to this thread(it's the same for Europa as well but changes for Conference League). The 32 teams that used to qualify for the Champions League until now that play the group stage will be replaced now by 36 teams that will play the League Phase, where each team will be drawn against 8 different opponents(2 teams from the 4 seeding pots) out of which 4 will be home games and 4 away. Teams who finish into the top 8 will qualify directly into the round of 16. Teams ranked 9-24 will face each other in a knockout playoff rounds until 8 teams remain. Teams positioned 25th to 36th will be eliminated from all competitions(I guess it means, champions League teams cant compete in Europa like they used to(by coming 3rd in their group).


It will be as usual Knockout phase of Home and Away matches in the last 16, as usual, until a champion is declared.



From now, every group league match and the goals scored home and away are important as it will drastically change the league standings. I think this way it will create a lot more hype early on, instead of the big team stomping and sure shot qualifications that used to happen earlier. A good move from UEFA, in my opinion. Currently, Inter is showing their potential very well and is able to be at the top of the standings. If they can be consistent with good team performance, the dream of winning a trophy is still big. In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 game between Lazio and Bayern Munich, the Italian club surprisingly won by a goal to nil but will now have to travel to the Allianz Arena for the second leg of that tie. Many are already backing the German champions to easily eliminate Lazio by beating them with a very wide margin but I don't think that will be as easy as many people think it'll be. Lazio could make good use of the momentum because looking at the previous match we must be aware that Lazio did the match only displaying its defensive scheme and only utilizing momentum but it was actually a good thing for them because with Lazio only doing a defensive scheme it made Bayern try more to attack and Lazio just waited for the momentum to get a good opportunity and Upamecano's penalty and red card made things different in the first leg.
