Though I never expected fc Porto to go toe to toe with arsenal at the Emirates stadium, I thought they would be more defensive, just as the first leg, but luck wasn't just on their side yesterday, if not, the result would have been different,

Arsenal did not have an attempt on targets in the first leg of their game but mainly as the second leg started at the Emirates Stadium, they made sure that their immediate intentions were clear from the beginning of the game. It would have not been easy for Porto to defend for the entire 90 minutes of the game like they did successfully at their home without Arsenal finding a way through especially in Arsenal's goal scoring form currently. Trossard's early goal made sure that Porto could not keep defending in the second half.

It's just those types of games where players have to grit your teeth and keep pushing. I said earlier that it's going to be a battle of attrition and it kinda went that way. I like free flowing and beautiful football as well but I miss this kind of matches.

There were 38 fouls in total, but the game had a lot more in my opinion, the referee missed several fouls trying to get the game running

I agree with your sentiment here, though fc Porto gave arsenal football club a better fight, but it was arsenal that needed it more, because it wouldn't be pleasant for even the neutral fan for arsenal to let fc Porto eliminate them from this year champions league, because expectations between the both clubs are different, expectations at arsenal is way much higher than that of Porto.

Porto are just getting things done base on luck to me and if Arsenal had lost the game or being kicked out of the Champions League I would blame it on the Gunners because they let the Porto side to have a free time to hang on the ball for long, if the Gunners made it hard for Porto I believe that encounter would have ended at 90'mins, that's the difference between Arsenal and Manchester City, if it was Pep and his boys they'd have made life a living hell in that encounter. Even though I was wrong about an easy win for Arsenal, all of my results prediction had been true and for the match between Atletico Madrid and Inter milan, I believe Inter milan is a better team and they'll at least keep Atletico on an equalizer to advance to the next round. Even though the match is being played in Madrid, Inter would have better chances.
And for the game between Dortmund and PSV, Dortmund would have better chance to win the leg and advance to the next round.

The performance of Napoli yesterday against Barcelona was very poor if you ask me and that was not what  I expected from a top  team like Napoli. After the 1:1 draw at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium in the first leg of this particular tie, I was of the opinion that Barcelona will beat Napoli in the second half but I didn't expect the win to be as easy as it was yesterday night at Camp Nou.
Barcelona were simply the better team through out the whole 90 minutes even when they were facing the reigning champions of Italy. That being said, I think Xavi Hernandez deserves more praises than he's getting at the moment for what he's been able to achieve with the current Barcelona team because considering the injury crises that's hit the club since the start if the season and the fact that they've been suffering serious financial issues that's made them not to sign top quality players in the last three transfer windows, I never expected Barcelona to reach the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League competition. IMO, this is quite a difficult battle for Diego Simeone's squad when they host the match against Inter Milan. Apart from Inter being in a positive trend phase, Atletico is currently in unstable performance, especially in its Domestic League competition. I knew that Arsenal was never going to get it easy because they didn't have it easy in the first leg moreover champions league is quiet different from premier league and so is the performance aswell, you can't be expecting that champions league team wouldn't challenge much more than the premier league teams did challenged Arsenal, it's more competitive and has got Moser st stake .

The champions league is like the peak league amongst elite leagues across Europe so most team there puts in only their best because any thing short of that will means they will be crashing out of the league of which they wouldn't want to knowing how much the champions league means to them. Arsenal did put in their very best in last night encounter and so did Porto too but then it happened that Arsenal got to qualify after the penalty shoot out, it's even enough for Porto to have held on thst long.

Personally I would say Porto did fight a good fight even if they weren't able to win the match and qualify for the next stage of the game, congratulations to Arsenal, topping the premier league table and t the same time having qualified for the quarter finals of the champions league, could it be the gunners have got something up their sleeves for us this season, lets see what they have got after now.
