I've seen several threads where people preach teaching bitcoin to kids and I've also seen threads where others talked about having  some savings(investments) in bitcoin  for their kids which is right.

Just as my topic reads, we should stop stressing  kids with wanting them do things we didn't meet up doing and at some points getting them mentally stressed.

Please don't get me wrong because I'm typically  not against teaching  or maybe introducing bitcoin  to your kids but I'm  on the opinion  that rather than bother them with this complicated digital asset (bitcoin) knowing fully well that no matter how much knowledge  we have about it, if we don't have the money to buy, then we'll  certainly  miss out, and judging from this, I don't think it's wise teaching them or wanting to force it on them when we know that they can't afford it.

I will suggest that, rather than bore them with the history of bitcoin,  why not get a portfolio for them and keep investing in it and watch it grow with them and when they're of age, then you can practically  show them the needful.

I do not know how you define stress in the situation but I feel that kids from 10 years of age should learn about cryptocurrency. It is digital money and even more. The do not need to start reading charts or those complicated stuff they just need to know.

I will suggest that, rather than bore them with the history of bitcoin,  why not get a portfolio for them and keep investing in it and watch it grow with them and when they're of age, then you can practically  show them the needful.

I don't agree with this at all. What does having money has to do with owning bitcoin? You don't need money to get it and this forum is a perfect example to support this claim.

What age children are we talking about? I have a little girl that cares about going for a walk in the woods, playing with her dolls, chasing our cats around the house and things of this sort. I'm not going to teach her about bitcoin yet. When she's 10, I'll be trying to get her to know bitcoin, that's for sure. I don't think she'll be stressed by that any more than playing chess or reading a book would stress her.

Bottom line, if your kid is smart enough to learn how to use a phone and use the Internet, he or she isn't going to be stressed by bitcoin.

Some say the earlier the better, but I say that age should decide. There is nothing bad in giving children Bitcoin education, but I believe that giving children Bitcoin education at a very tender age, like 10 years old (below), is not wise because there is really enough time for the child to learn about Bitcoin, so why the rush? I think 11 years is partially good, but there are some kids at that age whose level of understanding is still very poor to introduce something like Bitcoin to them. 13 years and above is much better, which some children will not even find very funny.

To me, there is nothing wrong with teaching a child about Bitcoin, provided that the child is old enough to read and is not seen as forcing them to learn about the currency. I see that as giving those children an opportunity we never have the chance to grab. Teaching them the basics of Bitcoin at an early age is enough to direct their knowledge into the currency; if they pick up an interest in it, then better for them, they will start early by learning more about it. Learning about Bitcoin is not just all about giving them money and showing them how to invest in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is far more than that; they can also be a great help to Bitcoin development if they grow up to be more of the technical part. They can build and develop things that can support the network. Everything does really have its right time when it comes on dealing up with things specially into kids on which their young minds couldn't really be able to cope up on learning up something which their

parents might really be that telling or teaching them on their younger years on which it is true that it is somewhat that stressful. There's a particular in life on which they would be asking out about
on whats money? for sure they would really be that get curious and what it is and on this time then i would say that it would be the sweetest spot on teaching them about fiat and at the same time
you would really be making out some introductions when it comes to cryptospace or Bitcoin itself.

It is upto each individual to do what they feel is right for their kids but for me personally I think it is not necessary to stress out kids with btc teachings. They will surely come to understand and know all about it as they grow, better to let them do what is important to them at their tender age.

I also agree with you on this point but logically those who said they taught their kids about Bitcoin didn't mean it at face value I don't imagine any parent who will sit a five-year-old kid down and begin to teach about Bitcoin, any training or teaching should not be taught earlier than the teenage years.

@OP if we create a portfolio for our kids, then we are oblige to make them learn about it.  They should understand what is that portfolio and to make them understand we need to teach them about cryptocurrency.  That is way more vast than just teaching kids with Bitcoin.  Though, we can say that we can just tell them the basic but still they are more wider than just teaching our kids the basic of Bitcoin.

I do not disagree with your idea to prepare a portfolio with our kids and watch this portfolio grow together.  I believe it is much better than teaching them and citing example through words.  Seeing the discussion in hand will make them easier to understand about the subject and they can easily distinguish the difference between cryptocurrency.

children are going to school and learning different subjects and comprehend them so if bitcoin can be present to them to learn little by little, I think they can learn because the most complicated subject is computer and yet they learn computer at that age.

Yeah, I don't know, I think that Bitcoin, like other subjects, needs to be learnt bit by bit. There's no need to make it a sacred subject for children, or something too serious.

If BTC is part of their normal, basic, lambda environment, adoption will be there in the future. You don't stress children about credit or debit cards, do you? Why do it any differently with BTC? If it's just normal for them, there's no need to stress it. There's no need to lecture about it for hours. Information by information, little by little, day by day, without forcing it, and they'll remember BTC when they're adults. That's all that matters.

A child should play with other children as long as possible, be happy and not have extreme obligations. That will come soon enough and they will fight for there goals. Financially they are usually supported by their parents and bitcoin could be explained to them step by step. But a child will only deal with it when it has to and then I think it will be fine... without being forced.

Every Bitcoiner wants Bitcoin adoption to increase so we are encouraged to promote Bitcoin education. Introducing Bitcoin to children is not a bad idea but we must take note of the following:

Age: introducing a seven to thirteen years old to Bitcoin as a currency or investment might make little or no impact. But some children are gifted or special. Some of them can understand many things about Bitcoin, those can be introduced. But children should be allowed to enjoy their plays, toys, and friends and shouldn't be burdened with strange concepts. After all some school subject covers money and investment and academics is even enough burden for kids.

Interest: Bitcoin attracts only the interested. You don't force people to learn or adopt Bitcoin because it is not everybody that will join the Bitcoin space. You should only introduce them to Bitcoin and allow them to make thier decisions. Some children will pick interest in Bitcoin while others might be interested in other fields or business.

Back to Bitcoin. I believe age factor is a major player in this scenario.  It is not bad if your kids are interested  in bitcoin or not. What matters is that they would have something to hold unto as their accumulated investment which has been kept for them long enough if eventually you as a father buys a fraction of bitcoin for them as a long term investment.

I know if anyone here has not seen the bitcoin cartoon that was previously posted here on the forum, its a very educative cartoon for the young mind its clearly explain the concept of bitcoin so clear that even the young mind of the children can comprehend the message that is been tried to pass and show clips or video like that will help explain a little bit about bitcoin without over exceeding the limits to which the child can grab.

It's not about shame but more of the age Gap that is appropriate to introduce a a child to financial education, we should let kids be kids for as long as possible while being intentional about their development.

Teaching your children about bitcoin without having any kind of investment for them for them to take over when they are of age it is a big waste of their time because telling a child at that young age about bitcoin is empowering the child with knowledge that he can do nothing with at that time. I'm not trying to argue now but I think I dispute this very one because not everyone who decides to keep their source of livelihood secret or confidential even to your family is involved in scam or illegality with bitcoin as there are also people who making it obvious that they're involved with bitcoin and yet still aid scam through it.

Like just give them board games like Monopoly or even Millonaires game (if I'm not mistaken this is local to Philippines). At least this kind of games will really bring the mentality for kids on investing per se.

I remember playing this board game even at a tender young age, we even created our own, just a folder and uses our imagination about it. And I would say that I've learn from this game and apply it later in life including BTC. Some people don’t view it as such and teaching their children about bitcoin becomes a necessity for them in order for their children not to miss out of partaking in bitcoin from early age such as they themselves already missed out. We not meeting up when we were like them might be as a result of some circumstances that we have no solution to. If the children are free of that circumstance, the parents feel they should engage them from early age but putting in mind about their mental health is very paramount in this regard.

When children are young, they understand and integrate things more quickly than when they are older. And not all children will value money when it is given to them at a later age since they will not value the fundamentals of its development.  Furthermore, observing the process of its growth through the years amidst all of the market conditions it must have encountered would not be understood by all. Instead of buying and piling it for them as it increases, engage the kids along the holding process as they grow with their money.

This isn't their age to learn this bullshit, you at your 30s are learning it for the first time and now trying to enforce it to them at the age of 13.

No financial advice should be given to a child before they turn 16. Let them enjoy life, it's too complicated after that.

I dont think anything is wrong in the later, having a savings for.your kids in Bitcoin is something that i really encourages and as a matter pf.fact bitcoin was the first asset i ever acquired for my unbord kids, because if i start holding bits for.my unbord child from now that will automatically make the xhild a ling term holder as at when he will have access to the bitcoin so to me fhis is a great opportunity to prepare ahead for the future t of. our kids.

You are right, let the kids enjoy their childhood and stop worrying them with some financial terms that will stress their young brain, because as kids their should be allowed to play and have fun at that age.

There is nothing wrong with your statement since we have hard similar discussions as.to what the extent of the pressure of teaching kids on subjects that are above their mental capacity and it resultant impact and implications on the brain development of the child

Great idea, having a set portfolio and having constant deposits for the kids is the best possible formula and in the future when the kids are grown then one can introduce them to Bitcoin and hand over the portfolio to them to manage since at that time the already developed enough to be able to handle critical financial decisions.

I guess you are trying to say something with respect to the Crypto ups and downs which has to do with the market trends hence you are pushing for kids to not be bothered about it. Age is a very arbitrary concept. A person can learn what he is interested in, regardless of age. It is the level of his development and motivation which really matters. Yes, we mostly study bitcoin after 20-30, but we were the first to encounter it and we did not have teachers who could explain something. We are self-educating. And our children can already start by learning from us. They have and will have someone who will help them in the first stages and they will not refuse to face an unknown phenomenon themselves. You don't have to stress them out, of course. But it is worth encouraging the study of this topic, it seems to me.

It your opinion and for what is worth, teaching kids about bitcoin could be really boring to them. I mean, how fun can it get! This is a new innovation that most adults don't even follow or are even ready to give it a thought and here we are, hoping that somehow kids can follow through.

It's not like you're stressing your kids with Bitcoin, you make it sound like people forcing their kids to learn Bitcoin which is probably not possible to understand this kind of thing at their age. I mean it's understandable but you could easily expose your kids to Bitcoin with the Bitcoin logo, animations, books, etc. which is normally what kids would like right? So it wasn't like you're forcing them to learn Bitcoin your just giving them the idea, and probably when they become a teenager they might wonder what actually Bitcoin is search about it, and potentially in the future become a bitcoin investor as well.

I have a different opinion since I would probably do this, than just giving them a wallet or Bitcoin that they have no idea what it is, if they doesnt have the foundation they might just end up selling that Bitcoin that you gave them. For me it's better to teach them how to save and invest so that in the future they will be the one that is going to buy Bitcoin with their own savings.

The thing is bothering me that I have seen members, especially new ones on this forum are educate their kids about bitcoin. Some threads are even made from primary teachers who is teaching bitcoin in their classes. I am also not against it but the thing is when you teach something in class it becomes mandatory for the students to follow so you are forcing the kids to learn about bitcoin at that early age which I don't like.

As I've pointed out in these other threads, I'm a financial advisor by trade, and teaching people about investments is what I do for a living.  Often times I'm helping clients learn about bitcoin.  I honestly wish my clients were concerned about teaching their children about bitcoin.  Most of my clients who own bitcoin keep theirs on an exchange, own shitcoins worth absolutely nothing, and have no idea what they're doing and refuse to listen to direction ..if only they cared to teach themselves, let alone their children.

My father taught me about the stock market from a very young age.  I was probably 8 or 9 when I started to get curious about money, stocks, the stock market, investing etc.  I would not have become a financial advisor if it weren't for him teaching me so early on.

Teaching kids about bitcoin in very basic ways, increasing the education as time goes on, is perfectly fine and healthy.  Teaching kids about money period from as early on as they can handle, is a good thing.  The problem with this world is a major lack of parenting, and parents thinking they shouldn't be teaching their young kids stuff because they wont understand it...THIS IS WHY YOU TEACH THEM, so they will start to understand it.  You don't have to put all sorts of pressure on them, there's still great ways to teach kids in a fun and harmless manner.

I mean from my point of view we are just opening it to them and for a young age we don't really believe that even if we discuss it to them thoroughly they would understand it.

As I said in another thread I don't see nothing wrong with teaching kids about bitcoin, the important thing is not to exaggerate or turning it into something that is actually stressful for them. It must be something between a game and a lesson. Teaching about bitcoin is also quite specific, maybe it would be better starting with something more general, like how money works, why is not always possible to buy what your kid likes (or wants), why is important to save money and investing instead of throwing it away, etc etc.

I don't think anyone is making their kids sweat and stress over bitcoin. It's all about educating them about something. More like showing that what future financial system might be. That's not a bad thing, is it? Keeping them prepared for everything. Teaching them how crypto currencies work and how to keep them safe from early days will actually help them make better decisions in the future. Its like teaching them how to save money and keep it safely on their piggy banks. But its a whole different story if someone is foricing their kids to buy and save in bitcoins. Taking your point into consideration, Bitcoin was not in existence until created in 2009 and I guess a lot of us here who are within the age of 30 now and above didn't have the opportunity to have Bitcoin in existence at age of 13 for these comparison, maybe some us here might have also had the opportunity to be taught Bitcoin stuffs by our parents, Therefore I see no wrong teaching kids things about Bitcoin at age of 13 ,if they are interested to learn and if their brains can catch it up because some kids at age 13 are smart in capturing things as if they are in their age 20s .

I'm with you on this. I also don't like children to be burdened about this Bitcoin thing. Let them hear it when you discuss it with family and friends. It all depending on the age range of those kids i can't say any child who is above 14 years of age is still a kid, or lets say above 10 years can not learn bitcoin. The only sets of kids you would talks about should be from 1 year to 5 years old, I don't think we should stress these sets of kids with all heavy talks of bitcoins rather just like someone suggested earlier to buy a bitcoin rhyme book or story book that tells about bitcoin, with this they would gain a primary knowledge of bitcoin and to me I don't think is stress to them because children loves reading a story book or painted book that shows the image of bitcoin.

So therefore, getting enclind with the knowledge of bitcoin is also good because it would help position them against any external/internal exams or quiz competition. It's true that stressing our kids, and teaching Bitcoin at a young age will cause more burden for them than good, but at least let's open their minds when it comes to investing itself. That is also something I've noticed; they are not going to pursue it, and for sure they are going to be in a miserable life. While reading your response, I thought of those movies where the children have strict parents and all they are doing is studying. Even if they want to play, they can't do it. I don't want my kids to be threatened like this because they don't enjoy the life of being kids. If you want your kid to have better financial life than you then teach then everything you know as soon as possible because more younger you are then they have longer runway so they can become the most richest person if they do everything right.

When I first saw your thread, I thought - I saw this coming. Someone is complaining about all of the threads that enthuse the education of Bitcoin to kids, and labeling this as stressing them out.

However, I actually completely agree with your premise. The best possible way to condone the education of Bitcoin and its power, is to just have a fun and interactive portfolio that shows Bitcoin's short term volatility and long term growth. A portfolio from their birth until 5-6 years of age, then very staggered and slow introduction to technical information until they are 18, of course, without stressing them out.  

Even the graph change over time with practically seeing the change over a 10 - 20 year period is enough to reinforce that Bitcoin is the king! Watching dollar deteriorate in buying power on the other hand....definitely won't reinforce positively for the dollar

Providing general knowledge for the kids is very important because that helps sharpen and put them in shape of the current trend. You can imagine you being in a place or gathering where discussions are held in the latest technological innovation in the world and you have nothing to contribute or talk about it. That is very bad and shows how backdated one is not to talk of it being in a recognized function.

I believe teaching them about the bitcoin as a new digital finance could be helping them be abreast of knowledge. I so much agree with with your opinion, I think trying to teach children about Bitcoin in an early stage can also influence their mentality towards money. We shouldn't be too fast about about this lecture  of children knowing about Bitcoin, the time in at wish children learn team matters a lot, if it's at the wrong timebit is either they will have no interest or it will end up with a negative result that will affect their mentality towards money. For my little understanding about children  I know children who are exposed to money it  has played played a  negative role in their life which is not easy to amend.

Well I had read some similar threads like this one. Not sure if it is like an Asian culture stuff only on where these happen since usually parents commonly force their children even over their limits or capability. It's a toxic culture if you would ask me.

It's not just circulating around crypto, Obari. It happens even outside crypto. See all those memes relating to parents beating their children over "just a passing" grade? It is a bit of an exaggeration, since usually it's only the disappointment that happens most of the time but you get the point.

I think some of these threads relating to the introduction of kids to Bitcoin are for merit fishing and maybe some of them are looking for engagement and trolling around the forum, no serious person will want to put kids under the stress of Bitcoin, believe me when I say that Bitcoin is not for the kids because even adults find difficult in the early stage of their introduction to the bitcoin, I don't find it as amusing thing but the education is necessary for the kids.

Well it's not technically really a source of income, but we get it that due to volatile nature, it becomes sort of source of income. It's perfectly still fine if kids would learn how to earn through Bitcoin, but the point of the whole thread is just don't force your ways or learnings to them.

It is good of the opinion in teaching the kids the basic fundamentals about bitcoin to keep them knowledgeable and informed rather than investing because at that age they are not matured to be able to absorb the the technicalities involved in bitcoin technology. I pretty much agree with you and I don't agree with forcing kids to learn about Bitcoin/cryptocurrency but I don't really see anything wrong with exposing(not teaching) them to cryptocurrency/bitcoin. I mean, just because I expose them to cryptocurrency/Bitcoin does not mean I'm gonna have to teach them about cryptocurrency or force them to learn more about it right away.

Yes, I follow the Op's opinion that we should stop stressing our kids to learn about Bitcoin by force. It is a good idea if someone can have the knowledge in initial stage, but that should not be for little children. Kids really need time to rest and play, so adding extra work to them may be stressful for them and that can lead to something ex.

The main issue of parents that want to introduce Bitcoin to kids is their final purpose. They dont want their kids to learn something new, all they care is money. I'm confused, I don't know if you disagree or the other way around.

Teaching kids about bitcoin doesn't literally mean that we have to buy them Bitcoin for them to fully understand. Introducing is just a phase, of course we're not forcing anything if don't really wanted Bitcoin in the first place, because even as a parent, we have no rights to dictate them what they should do, it's their life, let the kids enjoy their childhood and let them choose what they wanted to be when they reached the right age to decide about their future.

I don't think parents will force their children to do it. but when your child is looking at you in front of the PC screen trading or whatever you are doing for Bitcoins. then they ask what is it? then we will still explain the basics. there is no need to explain its history because it's a very boring concept for children.

Letting your kids know about Bitcoin is very important because if you don't educate them earlier it will lead them to a more difficult time when they want to learn about it from outsiders since you failed to teach them personally, so I am of the same thought with you on letting your kids know about bitcoin even though they are not getting involved in it directly but at least having a basic knowledge at the early stage will help the kid that wants to discover a part in bitcoin since he/she already have the foundational knowledge and awareness about bitcoin at their early stage in life.

There are a few points where I don't really agree with this.
I agree when it says don't stress children with bitcoin but on the other hand our job as parents is not like that I think. because there is nothing wrong with introducing children to bitcoin considering we are also here and introducing it to children is a good thing.
It's just that we have to pay attention to what we really have to do and what we shouldn't do.
Our job is only to introduce not force children to be in bitcoin. we only have the right to provide further introduction to bitcoin not that we have to force them to like it. I agree when it says don't stress children with bitcoin but on the other hand our job as parents is not like that I think. because there is nothing wrong with introducing children to bitcoin considering we are also here and introducing it to children is a good thing.
It's just that we have to pay attention to what we really have to do and what we shouldn't do.

I am the type of person who never forces children to follow what I do, but I also plan to give them an understanding of bitcoin after graduating from high school. For me it is important to give them an understanding of investing in bitcoin and they will make their own decisions when they have able to be responsible with his life. There are several taughts inside Mathematics and native language subject that we only see at school, which don't have practical usage later on the professional life. And depending the field the person is going to work, matters from other subjects like History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and others can be also useless. Actually, school should introduce the child to the areas they have interest for, so the education would be directed to their future professional life. There are some projects with this approach for the educational system, but they haven't been approved yet.

I agree that teaching too early will be useless. But to let the kids know about it in general like the Bitcoin picture is no problem. Kids surely will find their passion themselves, but they are impossible to have an interest in Bitcoin if they don't know it at all. We have to adjust what children need to know according to their age, it is including Bitcoin. Very few kids will be very interested into technology and related stuff. With that in mind we shouldn't expect every kid to have same mindset. Came across the history of OpenAI Altman, he started learning and writing codes and programs in the 8 years of age. Started his programming company in his 19th age. Similar level of interest shouldn't be expected with every. As most people said the space for kids should be given and they should be taught about the importance of learning. Some subjects taught in the school are really useless for their lives futurely, as they won't have any practical application later. And I would extend this to what children are taught by the media and internet. There are several taughts inside Mathematics and native language subject that we only see at school, which don't have practical usage later on the professional life. And depending the field the person is going to work, matters from other subjects like History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and others can be also useless. Actually, school should introduce the child to the areas they have interest for, so the education would be directed to their future professional life. There are some projects with this approach for the educational system, but they haven't been approved yet.

I agree that some thing they teach in school have really no day life real use unless you pursuit a very specific carrier. Do not make it a must or start teaching them about  reading charts, just make them fall in love with the word Bitcoin. Watch videos on bitcoin and have some things with Bitcoin words and logo in your house. Have discussion on Bitcoin with your wife or friends while they overhear.

I searched for the definition of child on google and I found the meaning of someone who is not yet 18 (eighteen) years old. So far I have not read much news that there are children studying in this matter. In my country it seems like a lot of people know crypto but it has more age than that. Actually, it's not wrong to learn Bitcoin, but there are limits that we must give. For example, the technology only. I think that the current generation will evolve faster with technology, so that basic introduction is needed. Most of us parents fulfill our desires through our children. That is, after the birth of a child, we parents do not decide that either my child will become an engineer or my child will become a doctor. I agree with you, and I'm against pressuring kids to learn Bitcoin stuff. I see a lot of parents on this forum with the same thought, they think to teach bitcoin as soon as possible, and they think making a copy like them will be good for their children and society. I am a father and an avid bitcoin investor, but I have never taught my children anything related to bitcoin. It's not that I'm against or won't teach them bitcoin, but I think everything should be taught in an orderly and age-appropriate manner. You're right  mate and I have no single issue with this type of approach and there was a reply I made here in affirmation to parents who could possibly  introduce bitcoin to their kids through some comic books and it's likes and in ways you also suggested.

My problem are with  parents who think introducing bitcoin  to their kids which are still tender will get the kids to a safer side in the future and make them accept bitcoin  early, hence using the kids to correct the mistake they made by not accepting bitcoin  earlier when it was first introduced.

I was also in the opinion  that rather than wanting  to stress kids with lots of unnecessary knowledge and forcefully  wanting to introduce bitcoin  to them and making their childhood boring by si doing,  it would have been better that they get them a portfolio and continue  investing in it for them and watch it grow with  them and properly introduce it to them when they're  of age to properly assimilate  it.

I've noticed alot of parents wanting to correct their kids and trying so hard to not let them make same mistakes they made.
There  are mistakes I made back then and I wish I can go back in time to correct them but there is absolutely nothing I can do but accept it and there is no way I will let my child trade that path because of the fear of the child making same mistakes we did.

Dont know why, but the kid is doing pretty well with math. Not yet in school, but adding and extracting numbers till hundred seems easy. English is also easy to learn while watching cartoons and playing video games. A bit harder with reading, read only by syllables so far, but we have one year until school. When school starts, it will be more about learning and gaining experience how to socialize, learning new basic things. I dont know where to put Bitcoin or crypto in modern kids timetable. Imho if necessary, knowledge about crypto will come by themselves. So I am not intend to force to learn it.

You need to insert also the play time or alone time with them, so it is difficult if you replace it with learning again because, based on that timetable, it is mostly about learning and there are fun things like when they can't play into something and explore the beauty of the world outside of technology. Well, if parents teach their kids about bitcoin as a payment currency like fiat, that's even more incentivized. But are you sure they will teach them and say bitcoin is money, or will they teach about investing because even they themselves see bitcoin as an investment rather than a currency? How many people on this forum are looking at bitcoin as a currency? All are thinking about profit when investing in bitcoin. Teaching about finance and investing should also be encouraged as it is the best way to change lives as we know it. But don't force or teach the wrong age. I already said this numerous times in the past threads but I will say it again.

There is nothing wrong with teaching our kids about bitcoin and what is cryptocurrency because either way, sooner or later, they will need it just like how we need it, but we should know as well that there is a right timing for that because we surely do not want to rob them from the freedom of being a kid and doing what they want as at this phase, it is their time to explore and to know things that suits their age. Teaching them at a very early age may sound gibberish to them and our effort may be futile because they just do not know what we are saying as it is not their time to know about it, yet.

Bitcoin will always be valuable and we are certain with that. However, forcing our kids to learn about Bitcoin may not be reasonable enough knowing their capacity to learn is still limited and will not easily understand about the broad meaning of Bitcoin and how it works for us. Please don't get me wrong because I'm typically  not against teaching  or maybe introducing bitcoin  to your kids but I'm  on the opinion  that rather than bother them with this complicated digital asset (bitcoin) knowing fully well that no matter how much knowledge  we have about it, if we don't have the money to buy, then we'll  certainly  miss out, and judging from this, I don't think it's wise teaching them or wanting to force it on them when we know that they can't afford it.

Oh, there is plenty of play time my kid has. Since this he is not in school yet, and even more the kid is not in even in prime school, I dont insist on studying. Playing > studying program is in general right now. But I give little hints, that «it would be great if you could calculate that» or «read this by yourself», because while I am at work, I wont be able to help you much with this and that game. It would still be better to start from the book since it teaches the basic knowledge even at the known schools they suggest students to study some books for them to understand easily some topics that are too difficult to understand. I like this post, I have stressed similar points on what the right time frame is for when they should start to actually learn how to use Bitcoin in the practice (I said around 12-14), but also I did note that I think it is important for them to at least know what it is. I give my nephews some novelty coins in a package recently and they loved it, one of them called me and asked a little further and the main thing we talked about was just the price of one bitcoin, and he was blown away haha. This is the same thing I am even talking about, it will be so difficult for children to understand bitcoin and I promise you they cant even understand anything about bitcoin. Even some of the  things they are supposed to know at their level it is so hard for them to understand it. We can't do that but we can still introduce and in this case maybe if they are more interested then facilitate.

Now that you have mentioned it, this makes more sense. rather than telling them this is their one and only choice, we can give them additional options. In the future, bitcoin will not be the only option from my understanding. We will get lots of options to choose from. So saving in Bitcoin for our children's future is not a bad thing I learned from this.

If you're referring to teenagers, those kids are still lucky. I have even seen some people try to teach 5 and 7 year olds about bitcoin, and they think that teaching them about bitcoin early will help them become investors or become rich when they grow up. I really don't understand what those people are thinking trying to teach bitcoin to 7 year old kids who can't even do basic math. Well said. It's also worth noting that there's a fraction of kids that are naturally endowed and gifted with the ability to understand complex topics or subjects regardless of their age. If we are able to spot these kinds of children, then not teaching them would only be limiting their potential because, it's a known fact that Crypto, Blockchain (and its other applications to other industries) and Artificial Intelligence would be the next frontier for technology in the future. I think of course every parent has concerns, especially when it comes to their child's future, because parents have an important role to direct their children.

And here maybe some parents think that bitcoin can provide opportunities for the success of their children. So they force their children to learn about bitcoin, causing the child to be stressed because they get mental pressure on their child and this will have a bad impact on the child if done.
What parents have to do is simply introduce what bitcoin is, if the child has an interest in bitcoin then learning can be continued gradually and the child will voluntarily learn it without having to be forced because they like it. Please don't get me wrong because I'm typically  not against teaching  or maybe introducing bitcoin  to your kids but I'm  on the opinion  that rather than bother them with this complicated digital asset (bitcoin) knowing fully well that no matter how much knowledge  we have about it, if we don't have the money to buy, then we'll  certainly  miss out, and judging from this, I don't think it's wise teaching them or wanting to force it on them when we know that they can't afford it.

We do not always have money first to be introduced to bitcoin. Not gonna lie, my first time i got introduced to bitcoin from my friend i was poor and do not have money to buy/invest into bitcoin.. so if we talk about wheter someone have money or not (including kids or adults) it is not a matter to be introduced to bitcoin.

I will suggest that, rather than bore them with the history of bitcoin,  why not get a portfolio for them and keep investing in it and watch it grow with them and when they're of age, then you can practically  show them the needful.

I can not opposite with this idea, Keep investing bitcoin and wacth it grow up or go down is interesting enough, but it does not mean i attenuate my opinion that i said before. people have their own opinion we just sharing each other.

I think bitcoin should only be taught through educational system. What I mean is, a technical lesson should be included in the syllabus so that it can create technical base on their minds and thus in the future it would be their own decision whether to go for the bitcoin adoption or not. The lessons could be anything from Satoshi white paper, how blockchain operates, basic intro to how crypto space works and rest. This will ensure we are not stressing them but we are just giving them knowledge about different type of computing language. Nonetheless blockchain is not just limited to the crypto currency anymore but its application are wide spread in variety of sectors where enormous data is generated and that needs to be protected. So yeah we can do that without hampering them.

A well-designed course that deconstructs complicated subjects like the underlying technology, the ramifications of blockchain, and the decentralization tenet may be quite helpful. It will offer up new employment possibilities in blockchain development and data protection, as well as enable students to make educated judgments about investing in cryptocurrencies.

It's silly habit if anyone is doing this, if I have to teach Bitcoin to my kids, I will make sure they have some interest in things like coding and learning other tools online like HTML and Java, because such people must at least know what Bitcoin is, and it's their decision to get involve after, it's not something you can force on your kids, and age is very important too, make sure they are older enough to make decisions themselves, some parents like doing it wrong, when they want their children to be a lawyer, they start telling him ot her from very young age that 'I want you to become a lawyer' because we don't have a lawyer in our family.

Yes there are some people like this in today's world and I am aware of someone who grows up in a home where the parents are forceful.

I agree. I think that one of the most important things that kids and teenagers should be taught is cyber security as soon as they start to use the internet, especially if they're able to spend money there. There are a lot of scammers and even more scary stuff that they might run into.

As a parent, I have noticed, that even though I have a reputation, my kid listens more to what his friends and peers say. Not like the kid is doing what ever he wants, but possibly, if I say that it is time to learn about crypto, but friends say lets go play minecraft, minecraft will get more attention and importance.

Imo, the kids should know the importance of money, but at their age earning should not be their primary goal. They should first learn how to cope with fiat money and importance of it, then start to learn about cryptocurrency. Lets suppose the situation when Bitcoin never gets mass adoption, it is banned or it will disappear in lets say 20 years. So why teach kids about it.

This is the beauty of the Bitcointalk forum, differences of opinion between members are well accepted. Some members try to educate children to get to know Bitcoin faster than expected, of course this attitude is not a mistake because each individual has their own way of educating their children.
Trying to provide early education about Bitcoin to their children is done as a form of concern for the activities they do so that their children know what their parents are doing.

There are many ways that can be done to educate children about Bitcoin, as long as it doesn't put too much pressure on them to do what we expect, I think it's still considered normal. It should also be noted that children's responses when they are being taught, if they show curiosity by asking more questions than being silent, it means that they do not feel bored with the knowledge being taught.

We have different perspectives, on money wise its ideal to teach them how to manage their cash properly, not even starting with the money but the valuable things instead; while they are kids, they need to know the importance of the things they have; you can teach them with the items they are continually using and want to use to get the value of it so in the future once they have their own money they are not those kids keep spending money because they know they have sources can get from their parents. We didn't say they would teach those kids immediately; it takes step-by-step progress. Once they get it, now is the time they begin with bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies themselves. Don't you want your child to stand on themselves and not depend on your money?

During these days, you can't hardly tell. Zoomers would be so curious that the boomers would be shocked that their children had learned so much more than from them. There were boomers that definitely didn't use techy stuffs that much, though I am not surprised that they still knew about Bitcoin though considering that it was released in 2009 and that was like one heck of an internet memory.

Children have way more curiosity these days now and don't be surprised as a parent that they knew more stuffs than you. They would be able to learn finance alternatively through Bitcoin.

Everyone is entitled to his opinion on this subject matter. If a parent find the need to bring his kids to the light of bitcoin at an early stage then there's nothing absolutely wrong on that. There could be a veritable reason as why such parents would decide to teach bitcoin to their kids and there's nothing stressing about that. If the next man doesn't feel my need to teach his kids about bitcoin same thing with nothing as whatsoever is wrong still. Like they say different strokes for different folks. The story of the book titled "the rich dad and poor dad", says so much about this subject matter.
