Finally a fellow soul in a question regards kids and Bitcoin. I am also against teaching kind about Bitcoin in purpose. I feel seek when I see people want to recover their lost opportunity to earn by teaching kid early as possible about Bitcoin. First of all this is stupid, because current Bitcoin price will never drop to hundred dollars and kids wont be able to turn invested 100 into 1,000,000. Second, let kids to what they want. Parents should only monitor what they do and help, motivate and support what they found they are interested in. They have full life ahead, plenty of time to learn about Bitcoin, crypto or what ever they want, but their childhood time is limited.

I've seen several threads where people preach teaching bitcoin to kids and I've also seen threads where others talked about having  some savings(investments) in bitcoin  for their kids which is right.

Just as my topic reads, we should stop stressing  kids with wanting them do things we didn't meet up doing and at some points getting them mentally stressed.

Please don't get me wrong because I'm typically  not against teaching  or maybe introducing bitcoin  to your kids but I'm  on the opinion  that rather than bother them with this complicated digital asset (bitcoin) knowing fully well that no matter how much knowledge  we have about it, if we don't have the money to buy, then we'll  certainly  miss out, and judging from this, I don't think it's wise teaching them or wanting to force it on them when we know that they can't afford it.

I will suggest that, rather than bore them with the history of bitcoin,  why not get a portfolio for them and keep investing in it and watch it grow with them and when they're of age, then you can practically  show them the needful.

I want to know if there are people who also share same opinion with me and please lets just discuss rather than argue

instead of teaching them hard facts early that might just make them disinterested in BTC, yeah that's a good point. You can also employ your kids in games that will help their thinking and managerial skills like chess or Monopoly board games. It's not about the money. It's about the skill and the mindset. Teaching kids early in their life might be an advantage but teaching them in an ineffective way won't o any good. As parent you don't force things with your children. You let their interest wonder.

Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks

I'm on the middle on this one.

It's true that stressing our kids, and teaching Bitcoin at a young age will cause more burden for them than good, but at least let's open their minds when it comes to investing itself. Don't teach Bitcoin straight to the point, but at least teach him some basics of investing in general, or maybe at least let's teach them how to save at first. What are the good things that saving can do.

On the other hand, it's not bad if we introduce Bitcoin to them at a young age. I mean we can teach the basics to them, but if we see that they aren't interested on it, or they are being overwhelmed with the information that they're getting then it's better to stop. I've seen kids here in our place that at a young age, they don't know anything about saving. I will do the opposite with my future children. I will introduce saving to him/her first, then will introduce investing, and will teach the basics of it.

Overall, this is a subjective matter because I believe that there are kids who might not want to learn not only Bitcoin, but investing in general, and there are some who are not. Just teach the basics I would suggest, and teach them the simplest way possible.

I agree. It seems like trying to bring more people to your cult. Especially when you try to talk about that with really young kids. I kinda understand talking about that with teenagers, but a lot of people are trying to do that with 10 years olds or so.

That is also something I've noticed; they are not going to pursue it, and for sure they are going to be in a miserable life. While reading your response, I thought of those movies where the children have strict parents and all they are doing is studying. Even if they want to play, they can't do it. I don't want my kids to be threatened like this because they don't enjoy the life of being kids. I want them to enjoy life and not always be after money, and for sure the time will come when they will ask you about financial aspects in life.

If you want your kid to have better financial life than you then teach then everything you know as soon as possible because more younger you are then they have longer runway so they can become the most richest person if they do everything right.

But it shouldn't be specific about Bitcoin, teaching about the money in the young stage is important but many parents think same as you and let them to lead an average life, running behind the pay cheks every month, have to work until retirement to get a small house, etc.

Already contrary to the topic. You are not against it but you don't want to stress them by teaching them bitcoin. How?
I think to the average reader, the Op has clearly stated or driven his point across and from what I've read, I see no contradiction in it. The Op is saying he's not against children who are curious and may want to know a thing or two about Bitcoin but where his issue lies is trying to force it on them under the guise of helping them become financially independent.

When I first saw your thread, I thought - I saw this coming. Someone is complaining about all of the threads that enthuse the education of Bitcoin to kids, and labeling this as stressing them out.

However, I actually completely agree with your premise. The best possible way to condone the education of Bitcoin and its power, is to just have a fun and interactive portfolio that shows Bitcoin's short term volatility and long term growth. A portfolio from their birth until 5-6 years of age, then very staggered and slow introduction to technical information until they are 18, of course, without stressing them out.

Even the graph change over time with practically seeing the change over a 10 - 20 year period is enough to reinforce that Bitcoin is the king! Watching dollar deteriorate in buying power on the other hand....definitely won't reinforce positively for the dollar Roll Eyes

The world is evolving faster OP, you did have a point but I want you to know that some children have the brain to handle what you don't even believe it's possible, I have seen twelve years old kid that built applications on smartphone years ago in my county, I believe such kid can built something using the Blockchain if he has interest in crypto, it doesn't have to be Bitcoin only, at least someone come up with the Ordinals idea right? Blockchain is not always about the money out of the book, there are things that kids can do with this technology in the future and they will be the ones to benefit the most out of Blockchain technology.

The language of Bitcoin can be quite challenging for young children to grasp, and even teenagers in school may find it difficult to understand Bitcoin easily. However, it can be approached differently by employing methods that children enjoy, without explicitly mentioning the term "Bitcoin" in those activities.

For instance, we can engage them in simulation games or tell stories about a bird diligently collecting food to prepare for the winter. We can also provide them with cute piggy banks to encourage them to save a small portion of their money. These methods prove to be the most effective in involving children in activities without burdening them with complex subjects like Bitcoin analysis and investment.

That's right, OP. The study of any subject will be interesting only when there is practice and motivation. What is the point of explaining to a child the benefits of Bitcoin and its value if he has not formed his own opinion about money?
And above all, children have a lot of subjects that they have to study and learn to prioritize what they like best. But by teaching Bitcoin, you are teaching a child the love of money, and sometimes it is more important to find your own calling and not just love and passion for money.

Smartphones didn't exist, and the Internet wasn't wireless when I was a kid, but that doesn't mean that the kids of today don't need to understand smartphones or know how to use Wi-Fi. Times change, new technologies appear, and new generations need to know about these things. Nobody should force children to learn anything, and one doesn't need to believe in Bitcoin or be an expert. But providing general knowledge about it and about other important things in the world wouldn't hurt. Why not both invest and educate?

Providing general knowledge for the kids is very important because that helps sharpen and put them in shape of the current trend. You can imagine you being in a place or gathering where discussions are held in the latest technological innovation in the world and you have nothing to contribute or talk about it. That is very bad and shows how backdated one is not to talk of it being in a recognized function.

I believe teaching them about the bitcoin as a new digital finance could be helping them be abreast of knowledge. It does not necessarily mean that you must teach them about it to start doing some financial engagement with it but rather let them have a little knowledge about it so as not to be an island or get lost When ever they are in the midst of their friends or peers and such conversation is going on. They too can contribute to the discussion and not be a dumb.

I want to know if there are people who also share same opinion with me and please lets just discuss rather than argue

I so much agree with with your opinion, I think trying to teach children about Bitcoin in an early stage can also influence their mentality towards money. We shouldn't be too fast about about this lecture  of children knowing about Bitcoin, the time in at wish children learn team matters a lot, if it's at the wrong timebit is either they will have no interest or it will end up with a negative result that will affect their mentality towards money. For my little understanding about children  I know children who are exposed to money it  has played played a  negative role in their life which is not easy to amend.

No need to rush children to know about bitcoin, their are other things  for them to learn in their early age that can help them  in life. After all their is no late time to know Bitcoin. Children needs to know more about their school work . Forcing them to know about bitcoin can make them to be dull because bitcoin is not easy for children accumulate in their brain.

There's actually a gifted kid out there where you can be consider like Sheldon in the series. In my country a lot of kids already contributed a lot by just winning awards international. But I think the main point of this thread it to spread awareness that kids shouldn't be forced and get stressed into something they don't understand since not all kids are gifted. Because there would be the right time where they could handle some information or they could search some information online by themselves without forcing to study the complicated system of Bitcoin since it's not just simply buy and sell.

Clearly, op is right and I share the same opinion with him, currently, my first daughter is going to be seven years old by November this year, there was a time early this year I tried teaching her bitcoin and all of its intricacies, from her attitude, I knew she wasn't interested and the topic seemed to bore her alot, clearly because it seems too difficult and complicated for her to understand, I called the lesson quit to allow her focus on her studies instead.

At such tender age, their brains are still too under developed to handle the stress of figuring out what is being said about bitcoin, and at the same time, pay attention to what they are being taught in school, this could end up destroying the child, as such a child could end up as Jack of all trade, and master of none, so it is better to allow them focus on one thing, and that is their school studies, they can learn about bitcoin much later when they have developed the mental capacity needed/required to coup well with both school and money.

Finally a fellow soul in a question regards kids and Bitcoin. I am also against teaching kind about Bitcoin in purpose. I feel seek when I see people want to recover their lost opportunity to earn by teaching kid early as possible about Bitcoin.

I dont think kids have anything to do with Bitcoin at their age and most of our advocacy is to encourage parents to rather hold assets for their kids and dont border the with the hostility that accompanied bitcoin by learning it or teaching them about bitcoin at their young age.

Quote
First of all this is stupid, because current Bitcoin price will never drop to hundred dollars and kids wont be able to turn invested 100 into 1,000,000. Second, let kids to what they want. Parents should only monitor what they do and help, motivate and support what they found they are interested in. They have a full life ahead, and plenty of time to learn about Bitcoin, crypto, or whatever they want, but their childhood time is limited.
Bitcoin doesn't necessarily need to drop back to a few hundred bucks just to give the advantage of the long term since buying and holding at the current market price can still give a good return on long-term bases.

On-time limits for childhood that is correct and since that kid's time is for play and nothing serious then we have to give our kids the opportunities to fully explore their talent at that age and when they're big enough to decide for themselves we can now introduce them to bitcoin and if they pick interest in it then we can encourage them to learn more and get involved with the whole market activities.

Somehow parents are always going to control the mind of their kids as much as possible parents want to have the highest level of influence on their kids and for that even at their age the parents introduce them to what molds the mind.

You don't want your kids to become a carpenter when they grow up while you are a renowned local financial advisor, do you?
Can't really blame a parent for introducing BTC as early as possible. A fruit couldn't fall far from its tree.

Well I had read some similar threads like this one. Not sure if it is like an Asian culture stuff only on where these happen since usually parents commonly force their children even over their limits or capability. It's a toxic culture if you would ask me.

It's not just circulating around crypto, Obari. It happens even outside crypto. See all those memes relating to parents beating their children over "just a passing" grade? It is a bit of an exaggeration, since usually it's only the disappointment that happens most of the time but you get the point.

As much as I we wanted the same for every single parents out there, it's the internet. It's either they give a shit and listen or not.

Finally I have the same ideas with OP want to explore what its in my mind, agreed with OP we should stop stressing our kids for understanding with Bitcoin. Its not right time for them to learn about Bitcoin because when becoming our position as children its time for studying and have spent as kids for playing with their friend. Nice dedication for our children understand about investment and want to learn advantage or way how to earn profit trough Bitcoin, but we can't take their moment stop playing and interaction with their friend.

I don't sure with how long cryptocurrency keep exist, actually become bitcoin investor need strong mentality and can't expected with our children  after understanding about bitcoin have the same mentality when facing Bitcoin on lower price.
