It's easier to get addicted to online gambling, but I recently met someone who said that he isn't even aware that he was an addict until his blood brother told him that he is going too deep into gambling.

He said that he screamed to him to wake up scarily, he said his brother is his savior, but I replied to him that he is someone who listened, most gambling addicts that I have came across have closed ears, they won't listen to you when you try to warn them or advice them.

Have you meet gamblers that are going way too deep into addiction and you try to stop them and they listen? I've never accomplished that before.

They are just on defensive on their actions and think that they are still fine. Maybe they just need proper guidance since most of this people is starting to ruin their life because he is in denial stage and not listening to others opinion regarding on what they notice to him. For sure keeping in touch with them and make them realize that they are in wrong path can change them since for sure they might think about what they are now going thru especially if they experience to lose a lot of money in gambling.

People must be matured enough to control themselves. They might not be deaf-eared but they are just can not control and change themselves.

Gambling is only one of many activities people can do in their life. If they can not control themselves in gambling, they can lose control in trading, investment, gaming because when a person does things irresponsibly, the person has weak mentality. It will lead the person to many bad things that can not be self-controlled by that person. You only can give them advice and they will have to make decisions for their life.

Hopefully they will not lose their family and life because of addiction in any kind, gambling, trading, investment, gaming, drugs.

I sometimes suffer from that I don't want to be disturbed or interrupted when playing on doing something important online I have total concentration on what I do, there's no spiritual power involved here there are people you cannot disturb on what they are doing and its not only on gambling but every field that require undivided attention.

They will respond only to you, just saying yes to everything you've said. This is really pretty normal, not only in gambling addiction but in all kinds of addictions. You thought they would listen to you, but it turns out they didn't and still don't understand what you are saying. I haven't told someone who is addicted to gambling, but in other forms only, like computer game addictions, they tend to say yes, but their expression is like a void, and for sure it will not sink in their mind.

Screaming to them won't bring and end the situation at hand what I noticed mostly is that some gambler can't maintain their state of mind, whereby channeling all their thinking to gamble, there are some people who may think when they don't gamble for a day they missing alot. So the best way to get your brother out of this whole mess is to consistently calmly talking with them without any insults or form embarrassment, and what mainly attract the attention of most gamblers are lack of job, and laziness.

Not until a gambler is deaf in hearing before he can be regarded as a deaf gambler as long as such individual will not listen to advise from others, he's considered a dear ear gambler, when we are talking about listening to ideas, am not focusing on the general ideas that includes the wrong and bad ideas, but no paying attention to what could be profitable to a gambler's life is a display of deafness and should be discouraged among ourselves, things like this aren't spiritual matters but personal issues than can be dealt with by ourselves.

This is just a myth but can not be deny to some extent. I have a friend who is very addicted to the extent I am thinking its not just ordinary but spiritually. Can you imagine this guy spent his cash on virtual betting and ended up placing his smart phone worth $125. After spending 1/3 of the amount of his phone, I showed up at the scene and rescued him and bailed his phone. Surprisingly, he still went back and continue playing with his phone as collateral. To cut the long story short, the phone was seized by the agent because he was not able to settle them after playing above the worth of his phone. I rescued him for the second time after raining lots of insult and advice but who am I to stop him? Guess what... The phone has been seized for the third time and we are just looking at each other like strangers. I told him to clear half of my debt before I should give him another money to retrieve his phone. I just don't know how to control him.

I gamble also but not to that extent of exhausting my whole cash not to even talk of placing one of my belongings. This my friend has gone far by placing his father's car and the car was held by the agent until his father came to clear the bills. Tell me how is this not spiritual for God's sake.

how do I warn a gambling addict if I am also a gambler? even though I'm not a big nominal player, I still have control over the money I will put into the game.
I can't force a person or even my friends who are addicted to gambling. usually, I just remind them to rest and go to sleep for a while or just look for food first to prevent those who are too excited in game conditions that tend to be forced.
it's hard to get the gambler to stop. what may happen is from a coercive family or in certain situations he can realize his mistake.

Fortunately I don't have any close acquaintances with that level of addiction. The most I've seen is someone gambling away the month's money on the slot machine, totally absorbed, as if nothing is going on around them.

Not only a gambler but even a normal person. I’m same like this when I’m focused on what I’m doing like when I’m at work doing my project, watching my favorite movie and other things that interest me more. There is nothing wrong on being focused even on gambling because it only shows how focused and interested are we on the things we are doing. It's not deafness but our mind is not entertaining interference like when we are on deep sleep or something.

I’m not alarmed with this behaviour unless I’m experiencing this kind of event out of control without I realizing it. I never try this on gambling because I’m always focus on my game due to the risk involved. I’m curious on how he can attain to be focused on gambling while it's full adrenaline rush when playing. Stopping an addiction requires initiative to seek for help if not by oneself. Being aware is one thing. Problem by most people going through addiction is being unaware  of how he/she is already doing such that if things or if things are getting out of hand already. No matter how your friend wants you to step out of your obsession, nothing will happen if you yourself won't do a thing about it. You'd be able to hear their warning but you won't have enough willingness to do as they told.

Yes, in any addiction things can get very ugly until the end of a person's life, and that is not what is sought, from what I have seen in some cases of addiction in casino games, people should leave it for so that they can be cured, because money is very easy to go, and it is not the idea that anyone should be left without their money because their work and everything they have to earn an income goes away, a person who has problems in The game must have a way to get out of that quickly , firstly to avoid Addiction and secondly so that your life does not start to distort , we must Always see everything related to what can happen and not rule out anything , because there is chaos of addiction to the game where the player steals from his own Family in order to play.

You cannot convince or influence people to follow what you advise if they also see you doing such activities. Provably he will just ignore your words given to them and might still continue with his possible addiction because he didn't get decent advices coming from legitimate clean peoppe aways from this activites.

So hard for committed gambler to stop but daily advices can waken up his thoughts and he might realize that he need to stop his addiction and connect to more people who's not into the same addiction.

 just chuckled so badly. What... spiritual powers, like how? My philosophy lecturer back then at the university would always say that "man is the cause of his problems." That statement just came off my head because those who are chronic gamblers were the ones that decided to gamble in their full normal sense, then along the line they lose control and allow game (gamble) to control them, then how does it concern any spiritual powers?
