Any BTC Investment outside hodling Bitcoin is a scam and I can say that because I fell for a few or them before I joined the forum. The problem with a lot of Nigerians is that they are always expecting to make quick money from little amounts and even if they end up falling into fraudulent schemes they still get scammed again in the future and I don't know if I should blame this on their ignorance, greed or the economic situation of the country. Ponzi schemes will always be something that Nigerians will continue to fall for even though everyone is aware of the fact that they are dangerous a lot of people are still going to get involved in another if they hear about it. There are no quick ways to make money, Nigerians are very desperate and this is what is used against them a lot of times.
The economic condition of the maximum people of our country is not good. So they naturally want to earn money quickly in an easy way and become financially independent. That is why we may face victim to scams. Even I know someone who has been cheated several times due to greed. And scammers cheat people in different smart ways. And if someone wants to invest in Bitcoin, then he should use the exchange himself and ensure the security of his wallet and hold Bitcoin in wallet. And keep a long term mindset and continue investing in Bitcoin according to proper fund management. Which can make an investor profitable and will create financial security in the future.

People living in regret of not to have taken advantage of Bitcoin at the initial time and frustration about someone's financial life can trigger this fall that makes some to even go on borrowing money to throw away because that's not investment. Peoples low reasoning capacity also triggers this falls, wanting to become part of the trends and other low reasonings makes them put in their hard earned money into those pits.
It gets so bad when people who get involved in this, go as far as borrowing funds just to partake. Anything that involves money, there are some persons that won’t even make research or confirm from other persons before doing it, all because they don’t want to delay or miss out, since they see it as an opportunity. Currently with the high adoption of bitcoin, it has actually opened the eyes of most people that bitcoin investment is not a making quick money scheme.

Yes you gave your friend a good advice. Any investment that promise to double your money just within a week most especially through someone who introduced you is a very big red flag. Bitcoin isn’t a place where someone can do magic and it will result to money, nobody can guarantee double profit in bitcoin.
My advice is that, People should stay away from investment that promise guaranteed returns. If you want to invest in bitcoin learn the basic things and use only money that you can afford to lose. Don’t allow promises of big profit or even urgency to make you fall for scam.

If you like advice people from now till 20 years time, people will always fall victims to scam because of greed. If not that some persons are just too greedy, how will they believe an investment that promises high profits within a short period of time. Even if it is a project that wants to do charity they won't even ask you to invest first.
The way scammers has read the minds of people is just so scary especially those people that always want to join everything they hear about that if they invest in it that their money will be doubled. There was a friend who was always trying to persuade me to join a ponzi scheme they do on WhatsApp that they have been doing for long and making money from it but I declined. Just few days ago she called me that the platform has crashed.
FOMO is one thing that also cause people to fall to an online scam because when people are doing all those hypes it can just make someone that is naive to think that it's a legit platform since a lot of people are hyping it. I wiseman doesn't follow the crowd or do what they're doing because he believes in researches that will give him an insight of what people are hyping.

If people are requiring you to make that commitment before they "teach you" how to make money, the biggest lesson there would be that you are the way they use to make money, you just won't see it until you spent both money and time under such people and absolutely nothing is communicated to you but you paid for a slot. That's how these scammers usually operates and get innocent victims to commit money because everyone wants to grow and get more money, so they use the hunger against their victims and scam them. If you truly make research on your own, you will know exactly how much you want to invest in it and anything does happen, you can count it as experience l,bust like everyone else.

People still fall for this traps because of many reasons personal and otherwise, like their level of reasoning, frustration and the way the nation is at large. Living in lacks has bend many minds and brains to fall into the nest of scammers and the country is a major driver of lack before talking about personal efforts. As it stands now even when these scammers are captured red handed, the system is so porose that they will even go free, highest these funds will be converted to personal use by those officials and then these scammers go on to reintegrate with another method.
This is the strategy of scammers, to prey on the vulnerability of people. The country is hard and people are looking for various means of survival and at any cost, it is only natural that scammers take advantage of that situation and put forth mouth watering offers that most people would want to gamble on. It is not a case of people not being aware of what they're getting into anymore, the know very well but since there's no much hope on survival, they choose to try their luck on it, of which it doesn't always end well. As an outlaw in this country, you only need to have the right connection to be above the law. And it might interest you to know that most scams that thrive have the backing of a well connected individual/individuals. If not, how do the boys pull the initial capital to initiate the early payouts before bigger traffic is pulled in and people's funds are trapped to their benefit?

We see more fraudsters in those places where people are poor and not educated. Because in those places where people are not educated, fraudsters can easily trap every person in their net and if an educated person talks to them about this fraud, the people around them do not let them say anything. Yes, I agree with you that behind every fraud, there is some kind of big person. Because we always see that a person is caught by doing small frauds, but on the other hand, a big fraud is not caught and whenever it is talked about, it is seen that the owner of that company is easily able to escape to another country. This is never possible unless there is a big force behind it.

Greetings my fellow Naija people.
I don't know why some people are still falling into the traps of those people that will call you for phone or meet you one on one and introduce fake decentralized investment, that if you invest #100,000 you will get #200,000 within a week. Someone came to share with me that there is a BTC investment one of his neighbor introduced to him, that when he invest on it through him , my friend will get double profit from it but the minimum anyone can start with is #500,000 above, that the numbers of people they want in that BTC investment is almost complete, that he came to seek advice from me if such decentralized investment is real. But I told my friend to run alway from them, that those guys are scammers and they don't have any knowledge about BTC investment. Did I give him a good advice ? What is your advice to such person.
We all no that real Bitcoin investment platforms does not condition investors on how you will invest, and anytime you come across someone telling you to invest a particular amount of money in Bitcoin before you can make profit, you have to run away. These fake platforms are all over the Internet, and many people fall victim because they are looking for quick money. Personally, I have experienced this, and wouldn't advice anybody to do that. It is true that engaging in any investment, there is risk attached to it, but purchasing Bitcoin, and keeping it safe in your wallet is a genue risk which can profit investors on the long run, and not the kind of investment that promises huge profits in two weeks, and eventually run away with your investment.

It’s quite unfortunate that there will always be gullible people in this world. When it comes to money a lot of people are very greed while when it comes to investment they are naive and ignorant because someone who is offering to make over 100% of your invested capital with in an unusual amount of time does not give you concern. Even people knowledgeable people still fall for scams like this due to desperation, some scammer are well polished and organized to the point that even with all your knowledge you might be tempted to fall for their scheme. You just saved a man off a huge financial mistake that would have caused him mental and emotional loss. We all need to be on the watch for scammers who come to us offering great returns in profit.

Nigerians as supposed to understand by now that any investment that comes with invest and get x2 of what you invested should know that is a scam that's a ponzi scheme, but i don't think everybody can avoid this because there are people with no experience about such investment scheme before, and the way the country is now people are desperate to make money so when they hear about investing small and get big they don't think 2 times again if they don't have the money they might even want to borrow just to invest and get rich over night.
The majority are aware of Ponzi schemes and know how the average Ponzi scheme ends. What I noticed is that despite the prevalence of Ponzi schemes and how they have scammed many people, some individuals still do not learn. Even if they come across a Ponzi scheme, they still want to invest in it just to make money. This is the level at which greed and ignorance have made some people continue doing things they are aware of the risks. Some people are suffering from that get-rich-quick syndrome, and it takes good understanding and discipline to go the right way when it comes to financial investments.

The truth is, everybody is struggling in one way or the other in this country, we just have to be patient and not rush into any investment that we see. Many Nigerians know very well that if they invest in Bitcoin, it can actually change their life for good. But the problem is, they don't want any investment that will take a long time to give them profit. They just believe in those investments that are promising them quick returns, despite they are always being scammed every time. I don't agree with this idea of storing our Bitcoin for exchange. Remember Not your keys, not your coins. When you keep your Bitcoin for the exchange, it means the exchange has your coins and anything can happen to your bitcoin. That is why you should use a reputable wallet for your Bitcoin to have full control over your assets.

I believe what you did is generous to save your friend from falling into the hands of scammers, I have heard so many people falling victim to such a terrible things, most of this people you see falls victim because it’s possible for them to be using some African Vudu, some of them doesn’t talk about bitcoin, it’s mostly you invest some certain amount of money in some Ponzi scheme, it’s just to be careful on anything we are doing when it comes to investment, some people tells you to pay certain amount of money to get a job because they knows so many people are jobless, and they get them scammed through that way, so there are different kinds of antics and stories they have, so it’s better everyone is careful about this things, OP you did a good thing saving your friend.

I don't know whether I'll say it's because of too much inflation but our citizens don’t learn, MMM would've served as an eye opener to everyone concerning these ponzi schemes and fake crypto investment but keep would still fall for them over and over cause they're to desperate for quick wealth, i don't know if they forget that nothing good comes easily, even Bitcoin that a very legit investment option requires long term holding to stand an opportunity of being wealthy through it. Until some Nigerians learn to a quick money investment they'll continue being victoms to ponzi schemes.

And people don't really know when to stop, and I understand that this is the situation that has made everything turn out this way. People are looking for easy ways to make money because things are difficult and there isn't an easy way out, so when Ponzi schemes appear, people see them as an opportunity to make money. The kind of energy they put into Ponzi schemes, I feel like they should channel it into investing in something more meaningful. What surprises me the most is that they will do it and get away with it, so people should just trust Ponzi. A lot of people have been in serious debt because of ponzi the best thing is just for everyone to avoid Ponzi schemes for there own peace.

You don't need to blame them because they are doing it due to ignorant, and with the way things are people tend to venture into anything that come up so Long as they will get paid for doing it. But that's wrong, I know the economy is hard even in my own end but I don't take for the fact that things are very difficult and start venturing into things I don't know. And one thing about me is that I can join any scheme you introduce me to but even before joining them I will first of all make some personal research and even though the scheme is somehow genuine but I tend to disagree when it requires putting my money.

I don't know why it is so easy to convince Nigeria to get involved in ponzi schemes but when it comes to investing in Bitcoin and other relevant investment they think that they are being scammed. A lot of people blame this on ignorance but I disagree with that, their Major problem is desperation. The reason why I'm saying that is because a lot of Nigerians have been scammed several times but when a new scheme comes they rush into it hoping that it would be different.
The bottom line is that this is something that is always going to affect Nigerians, the economy of the country is also a contributing factor to this as well but it shouldn't be an excuse for stupidity.

It's simple: the reason why Nigerians get involved in Ponzi schemes easily is because they are greedy; we want quick money, and that is what all Ponzi schemes promise to give, and Nigerians that want quick money will fly in immediately with the target of doubling their money. The greedy ones will be referring more people for their selfish interest just to have more opportunity of making more than others through referral rewards even if they know that it wasn't going to end well. It is easy to convince them because they want to make quick money. While convincing them to invest in Bitcoin that cannot give them quick profit is not always easy, they will rather accept trading that can give them quick profit instead of planning for the future with Bitcoin investment they will hold for long that will benefit them in the future; they will prefer quick money instead.

When someone gets greedy to some level, they turn into a fool, and that is what some Nigerian citizens have turned into. I don't know why they don't want to learn about these Ponzi schemes stop continue losing their money there. Because, if it is not foolishness, how will someone always try to put their money where they know there is a high probability that they will be scammed? In fact, even someone who has not been scammed before should know that there is no way the returns that these Ponzi schemes are promising are possible, as long as the way they are making their money is not also easy. And in this our country, people will never learn. They have to learn; they may have learned. What is painful is that there are some investments out there that look promising, but they will never invest in them. And the most painful part is when someone wants to introduce crypto to them. They will start doubting whether it is a scam or not, and they hardly invest as long as you don't promise them huge returns on their investments.

With everything that is happening are people still falling for little tricks like this?
A Bitcoin investment that offers you double the amount you put into it in just one week is definitely a big scam and these scammers their targets are mostly newbies that are still naive and vulnerable, I have seen many of this style and I ignore it immediately and even in centralized currency their are also fake investments like this and I have fallen a victim once though I didn't put in a big amount and I did it because I wanted to really see how it would turn out at the end and i only got 50% of my money back before they blocked everyone from accessing their money and I sworn never again and I would never try this in Bitcoin.

They are definitely scammers, how would someone set a standard to invest #500k as minimum for a start in Bitcoin investment when anyone can buy Bitcoin as little as they can afford wether by DCA lump sum or buying the dip, so long as they have the money to buy. That's how many scammers Tanish the image of Bitcoin to run their shit and it will later creat a negative impression about Bitcoin to those who don't fully understand the whole concept of Bitcoin. We should be very careful about them expecialy when their offer are too good to be true. Any site that claim to give extreme profit in less than no time is already a reg flag. But Greed will blindfold many into doing it and later regretting their actions when it's already too late. The funny part is that some even sell their Bitcoin to gamble in this scam project because they want to make quick money but instead they lose fund too quickly.
