It will be a tough game for both teams.
Manchester United lost 2–1 to Aston Villa in their last match, while Newcastle United drew 2–2 at home against Chelsea.
If both teams want to stay near the top of the table, they need to win this match. Let’s see who will come out on top.

Even though it is Manchester United's home match, I am not interested in betting on Manchester United's win. The performance of this team is very erratic. They won 4-1 against Wolves. But in the next match, they drew 4-4 with Bournemouth. Manchester United also lost against Aston Villa in the last match. Undoubtedly, Newcastle are very tough opponents for Manchester United. Manchester United have also lost 4 of their last 5 matches against Newcastle. So getting 3 points in this match is a big challenge for Manchester United.

Brighton, while quite eye-catching, is sometimes a bit difficult to beat. Here, the key is for Arsenal to score first before conceding any goals from Brighton. By this point, Arsenal will likely win the match. Although this won't be easy at all, Arteta has prepared many things to end this year with a win.

It's definitely not going to be an easy match for Arsenal,  but believe they will win it. I think Arsenal has what it takes to win this game against Brighton. They are playing at home and that should also be an advantage for them. In the last 3 matches Arsenal has been creating a lot of chances, but they have scored just 4 goals, which I think they need to improve. The good thing is they are creating the chances, but they just need to find a way to finish it. Arsenal also know that they need to win this match if they want to stay on top of the league, so that should also be a motivation for the team. The team has got the mentality to go for the title,  so I think they should win this match and prepare for the next game.

They've been losing points 2 times in a row already. Mostly because of poor defending. Now I doubt their offense activity also. Let's see if they prove me wrong. I smell a draw with goals here. 1-1 or 2-2 maybe.

Manchester United inconsistency doesn't just start recently Manchester United has been struggling since the start of the season, i still doubt if they can be able to win Newcastle some of Manchester United players has went to the AFCON i see Newcastle as favorite to win Manchester United their performance has been very poor  i don't think if Amorim can qualify Manchester United to the UEFA Champions league next season.

I share same sentiments on this regards too, I don't see Manchester United making it to the Champions League next season considering how off and on the team has been thus far. It's going to be tougher for them because just as you said, done of their players are on duties for their national teams in the ongoing AFCON tournament, although other players might turn up as they are seeking for relevance and might tend to prove themselves we never can know. But overall, the team hasn't shown signs of serious improvement regarding the fact that they have missed going to play in clubs biggest competition. Teams like Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea in my opinion will finish in the top 5 leaving room for 2 slots and funny enough I still don't see Manchester United filling any of these slots when their are teams like Aston Villa, Crystal Palace even Liverpool who seem off this season who are more likely to fill in those 2 slots. It's my opinion though.

They will be playing Newcastle next i know they can't win Newcastle, Aston Villa will make the top 4 Manchester City and Arsenal has the 1st and 2nd position in the league Liverpool, Chelsea, and Aston Villa will fight for the 3rd and 4th position, unless Manchester United will improve beginning from their next game before they can make it to the top 4.

I wonder what Manchester United lineup will be tomorrow. According to Fabrizio Romano, Ruben Amorim will not be fielding Bruno Fernandes, Maguire, De Ligt, Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo against Newcastle tomorrow. Amad and Mbuemo are also absent due to the AFCON so I’m wondering how they are going to hold their own against Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton tomorrow.

Yeah between they are not so good and now they lack key players Ruben Amorim is in heavy troubles right now, Ugarte is gonna play for sure but he is really bad compared to Bruno Fernandez for example, and Mbeummo is not gonna be easy to replace as we saw against Aston Villa. I expect to see them losing against Newcastle wich is a much better team than them.

The team's performance is consistently bad so the manager can definitely make some changes to the team against Newcastle. At the moment, it is very important for Manchester United to win because they are not in a very good position in the points table and if they continue to lose like this in the future, then at this stage of the season they will go down a lot in the points table. Manchester United have already played 17 matches in which they have won only seven matches. Manchester United's position is 7th in the English Premier League points table but they can bring their position up if they can perform well in the upcoming matches.

It will be difficult for Ruben Amorim to make some changes in the Manchester United team that will play against Newcastle United this night because Bryan Mbeumo, Amas Diallo, and Bruno Fernandes, who would have made it possible for Ruben Amorim to change Manchester United's game against Newcastle United, are not available to feature for Manchester United. Manchester United needs the 3 points against Newcastle United so they can increase their chance of finishing in a champions league place, but it will be difficult for Manchester United to win Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

I think there is no clear favourite in the Manchester United - Newcastle match. Let's be honest. It will be a very difficult match for Amorim's players. Newcastle's placement shouldn't mislead anyone. Besides the gap is only 3 points. 
Bruno Fernandes is out due to injury. This is important because the team have been relying on him mostly. Their defense is also in bad shape and they had better watch out for Woltemade! He scored 2 goals against Chelsea last week.

I expect this boxing day match to be a close one because united are in dire strait now. They have to face newcastle without bruno and I could not see kobbie mainoo too. Amorim is struggling to decide what to do now. Bruno is the real engine of amorim in attack so playing without him mean losing the game in midfield, Amorim himself admit that it is impossible to fill Brunos absence

Meanwhile Newcastles Woltemade is in hot form now, in fact with those two goal he showed what he could do. The way they are creating corner and chance Uniteds defense can be beaten. So I would say it is very difficult to choose a favorite in this match. United may have the upper hand on boxing day in history but with current form, injuries and Newcastles goal scoring ability the match could go either way

It'll most likely be Cunha and Mount playing behind the striker, trying to fill in the role of attacking midfielders. When there's no one that can replace Bruno, have 2 people try to do a similar job. They have Casemiro that can help defensively and put on a shift anyways. It might just do the trick.

Oh yes Kingsden you're on point the best thing will be to play Arsenal on live match to win each time Arsenal scores first. There was a time they brought out a statistic that whenever Gabriel Jesus scores they don't lose.
The Brighton game is gonna be a tough one and Arsenal has to come correct and serious if they are to win the match, and have a chance at the premier league title this time cos Manchester city are lurking very closely.

Manchester United only won 3 consecutive games this season, and it is not enough to consider that as consistency. Even if Manchester United are not consistent at the moment, they still have a good chance of qualifying for the champions league because they still have a lot of games left, and they can use their remaining games to better their performance and fight for a place in the champions league. Manchester United will lose their game against Newcastle United this night, and there is no doubt about that.

What surprises me is that about 30 minutes ago, I saw that the bookmaker chose Manchester United as the team with lower odds than the draw and Newcastle with higher odds. The odds for Manchester United are above 2.

What surprises me is how they can or from which perspective they assess that Manchester United deserves to be favored, while I assess that Newcastle United's players are better than Manchester United's, with Bruno Fernandes and other players absent due to international duty, such as Amad and Bryan Mbeumo.
The lineups for both teams have just been officially confirmed. Manchester United is playing Martinez as CB, and this player has also been given the captain's armband.

Ideally, it would be better if Manchester United could draw. This would be good for Liverpool in the standings.

We are in match week 17 and still every team has to play 21 more games. That's why it's very difficult at the moment to predict accurately the winner and runner. Look at points gap between top three team, Manchester City and Villa are very close to Arsenal and can swap positions with Arsenal in any week. The gunners need to play extra ordinary well in their upcoming games to strengthen there position on points table. Manchester United are playing much better then how they played last season and they still have to work hard more if they want to qualify for UEFA.

To me, Arsenal need to continue winning their matches, I don’t really believe in win or lose they are fine. They need to win matches, to keep their gap very far with Manchester city, I’m still watching Manchester city as a team that will give Arsenal tough in this competition, they need to do well in this remaining matches, because I don’t really want City should over take Arsenal in the standing. Therefore, Arsenal should need to do well, so they will get the premier league trophy this season.

Well, Arsenal isn't bad, but City has practically caught up with them. The standings are starting to excite me. The match between Manchester United and Newcastle promises to be one of the best this Christmas season there's nothing like watching top-flight football. I'd like Newcastle to win.

Man United doesn't have many options in this match because many of their players are unable to play. As a replacement for Bruno, Amorim chose to play Ugarte to accompany Casemiro, and hopefully, the player can play smart and not make stupid tackles that could harm his own team. It's quite reasonable why many people think that Newcastle will get 3 points, because Man United really can't play with their best squad. Furthermore, the loss of Bruno Fernandes will seriously impact their performance on the pitch.

I’m not really sure that Man United will struggle just to get a draw, even though several key players are absent from this match. The players’ mentality when playing at home is much stronger, and that’s what could make this game end in a draw. The match has already started, and if we look at the game so far, it’s very clear that Man United still have plenty of chances, either to secure a draw or even go for a win.
