There's always a way out in  which where he might be now. Consider all his options and think why he actually need a lot of money.

Get jobs, get more jobs if you can, if you can't take another job on top of what you have right now, learn a skill or a craft, preferably one that is not as time consuming, not stressful, and not something as major as your current employment, look into baking, writing, tutoring, all that stuff. These crafts pay good and are not that much of a hassle (except baking as it requires you to have some sort of practical training). From there, hone your skill, master your craft, and build a clientelle. I actually suggest that you offer your services for free in the first few months of you opening your side hustle and only ask that these people recommend yourself to other people within their circle of acquaintances that is in need of your services.

This is what worked for me and I was able to get out of my dead-end job at a call center agency and find a better work-life balance that I enjoy till this day.

I don't know your current state financially, but you are too desperate for money, and decisions you make when desperate lead to endings that are usually regretted. Well I don't blame you as money is sweet when in your possession but its also the root of all evil. I would like to go religious and advice you here mate, please making money should not be your major priority but making money that will guarantees you peace of mind should always come to your thinking. You don’t want to anything that will jeopardize your reputation and your relationship with your family. I think when you are a young kid your parents are very strict and they wanted you to get high grades or else you get punish I think that sinks into your mind that is why you are scared of you mum. For me i never experience that kind of strictness to my parents they let me study and do not force me to get high grades they do wanted me to enjoy my studies and they did not set any grades to reach because they do know how stressful is studying. I am thankful to my parents i did not feel scare about them if i did not excel in school instead they are more supportive what ever grade i got. You can try to do the same to your kids so that your kids will not be afraid just let them study and do not set any standard grades.

For you to be able to earn a lot of money you have to work hard and find a side job that can boost your income so that you will not be scared that your salary will be cut if you have other source of income. It's true there's no mentioned if @OP's wife pressured him, but @OP said he's scared when he want to go home. No one will feel scared if his wife can respect with anything happen on him, he will only felt miserable, sad etc. That's why I said it looks high likely @OP's wife was pressured him, if not he will not feel scared after get pay cut or fired.

I get your point, but it's not as easy as it sounds. This may be someone who barely makes enough to take care of his family, so where will the money for saving and investing come from?
On the other hand, he may be someone who makes an adequate amount of money, but an idea of others is what he wants. If he makes a fairly good amount and is unable to take care of his family with that, then the problem is on him.

He needs to reevaluate his decisions and make sure he's not spending the money recklessly, or at the very least without planning.

Regardless of how desperate you are you should never cross that line that separates what is right and what is wrong, now if you are in dire need of money this can be a difficult thing to do, but it must be done.

You make money everything in life, so you are willing to do anything to get it, it is too risky for you and your family, think carefully before you do anything, when we are adults there are many demands that must be met but that does not mean we have to do everything.
