Corruption in sports ends the dream of many players, this is unfortunate, but it is good to see that people are noticing this. Maybe it starts to change.

That's true some of the best players and fighters are not getting the break that they need because of corruption, here in our country our athletes are improving because thanks to social media they can voice their complaints and their supporters will know it and they will demand explanations from these officials.
Athletes should be allowed to develop with the help of their government because, in the first place, their athletes are the ones that will represent them in international competition, so they have to send the best that they can produce.

The Cameroonian Football Federation needed to investigate cases of bribery committed by persons serving at the Cameroonian Football Federation at that time, as a result of the despicable acts committed by certain persons, Cameroon lost one of the world's best players. Obviously, Cameroon misses Mbappe, Mbappe doesn't miss Cameroon. Mbappe has got everything with the French national team, he is also the most influential player in the Les Bleus squad.
Cases of bribery committed by some individuals in football have hindered the development of other players due to not being able to give a certain amount of money to coaches or other parties. Indirectly, they have killed the development of football in their country.

Hey guys, reading little story on Kylian Mbappe who on Thursday visited Cameroon on a charity with the deaf and other familiarization visit to his father's home town. He spoke with Joseph Dion Ngute, the Cameroon's Prime Minister, he was honoured visiting and I believe this is just like the humanitarian work some influential people do
Money is always the basis for why something can be manipulated and corruption occurs. I don't really understand the condition of African football and especially Cameroon, but this country always gives birth to someone who is able to penetrate the boundaries of European football. Kylian Mbappe is an important player in the French national team and Cameroon made a bad decision if this is true as the rumors are, because they have to lose a great player who can make their country heard around the world.

Do you think Cameroun miss Mbappe or it is Mbappe that missed Cameroun ?
It's just a charity effort that Kylian Mbappe is trying to run in his father's homeland and I don't think too far about what issues he is trying to relate to, even though it could be true or not? His father has a long history with his homeland and surely Kylian Mbappe will try to make something more memorable for his parents.

Do you think Cameroun miss Mbappe or it is Mbappe that missed Cameroun ?
Both No.....! Mbappe is fed up with the behavior of the top officials of the Cameroon national team, he does not miss and wants to play in Cameroon, he sees Cameroon as the country of his birth and his parents, nothing more.

The problem that happened to Mbappe with the Cameroonian coach yesterday has been circulating outside, so Mbappe's father made the decision to play in the French National team, there are reasons for this to happen.

The answer to that has already been answered by @Malusi MKwebu, elsewhere.
This is the rationale for the OP's answer, in my opinion, quite apt.

Kylian Mbappe is considered the future of football. His father wanted him to play for Cameroon, but was asked to pay a MASSIVE fee to play for his country. So he went with France instead. What does that tell you about African football?]
Quote
Thanks for such a great and intelligent question, this incident that happened greatly shows you how corrupt is African football, how fractured and disorganized is my beloved continent Africa, and I remember reading an Africa report magazine in 2010/2011 .El Hadji Diouf slammed the African football officials and said that African football officials want money from football but they don't love football.

This goes to show you how unserious are we with the game of football as Africans, we love money from football ,not football, this also goes to show you how far we are as a continent if we are to ever reach the level of Europeans, if we are to be developed in the game as Europeans we need to eliminate all those kind of officials with bribery behavior.

This also goes to show you how poor are African football federations, how kleptomaniac and also how nepotistic is the African football system, they just appoint people to work in the football without even proper credentials.

So in conclusion for me losing players like Kyllian Mbappe is not a good thing in African football, Cameroon lost a world cup and the truth is Africa we are still far away ,to reach the level of other developed footballing governing bodies that are in Europe and South America.

Cameroon national team bosses don't consider and look at Mbappe, he has it all.
Quote
1. Mbappe is the second most expensive player in history.
2. Mbappe donated various championship titles.
3. Mbappe excelled in the World Cup.
4. Set records since he was a teenager.
5. Mbappe is super fast
6. An unpretentious world football star.

What did the top officials of the Cameroon National Team do? In my opinion it was stupid and greedy, he didn't consider it for the future. In fact, if Mbappe plays in Cameroon, they can make trillions of dollars, they prefer to be corrupt.

I have also heard of some local stories about how some coaches require money from new footballers before they allow them on trier both in their clubs and national teams. Is this happening globally for new players who are still seeking to find a spot in clubs?
Sadly this is the story of many African based footballers who wished to play for their home country but corruption, nepotism and other cancers that have engulfed the football federation drives them away to play for the country they are resident in. And that was the best decision they made. Lately, the news  of Oderah Chidom a Nigerian female basketballer dumping the national team filled the air because of lack of professionalism, Saka is another player as well. African and their sporting federation needs to do better and they still have a vey long way to go.

But one striking revelation was that he would have been a cameroonian player if they weren't asking his father to pay them money before allowing him to play while he still trying to fix his career and French allowed him without payment.

Quote
"At first, I wanted my son to play for Cameroon, but someone at the Cameroonian Football Federation charged me money that I didn't have to make him play," he explained. " The French charged nothing."

That is the reality of every sports, player has to favour the members who is in the authority of selection and each country will differ in its own way depends on how their selection process involves in the player acceptance. Lot of athletes were rejected in their own nation due to politics and poor financial status later they moved to another country which recognise the talent and grab the individuals for their own nation.

Cases of bribery committed by some individuals in football have hindered the development of other players due to not being able to give a certain amount of money to coaches or other parties. Indirectly, they have killed the development of football in their country.
These individuals occupying power positions on their countries aren't concerned about the development of their countries, because they put their personal financial and social interests in front of everything else. In theory, they are on such spots to do the best thinking on their countries, however, they don't have any pinch of patriotism, nationalism or empathy running through their veins, so in practice they just try taking advantage of every disponible opportunties to grow their pockets.

Thankfully, players like Mbappé don't lose anything with this, since they can find much superior opportunities and recognization in foreigner countries.

I thought maybe some fake representative is trying to scam them but doesn't seem to be the case. I cannot find any article where officials from the Cameroon Football Federation denying the allegations so it's probably true.
Cameroonian football officials will never accept that they asked for a bribe. It is not also a scam because it is common in Africa. Most of these sports administrators are so corrupt that they don't care about talent because they are there for their pockets. Even coaches ask for bribes before some players can play for the national team. Anthony Joshua the British heavyweight champion boxer was to represent Nigeria in the Olympics but the corrupt officials asked for some form of monetary inducement which refused to give. He went ahead to represent England and today he is bringing glory to his adopted country while Nigeria is wallowing in regrets.

Ironically, Cameroon national team lost one of the best players in the world because a greedy and corrupt agent (or a group of them) had a bribery scheme to recruit new players. Imagine how further they could reach on World Cups if they had Mbappé on the team, profiting much more and getting much more recognization than what they would have earned with the bribery... Corrupt people think they are smart, but they can only see things on short term. What really matters is what happens on long term, and that is something only God knows and sees. So better to walk straightest as possible in life, never creating obstacles for our fellow beings, rather trying to help them as possible.
He was even lucky to choose France because the same corruption is still killing the Cameroonian national team. When funds are disturbed for preparation and wages, some greedy officials will divert the money to private pockets. He wouldn't have achieved much if he had played for Cameroon. France gave him the right platform and enabling environment to succeed. This is why many African players prefer playing for well-organized national teams in Europe and America rather than playing for corruption-ridden African national teams.

Cameroonian team are the ones who missed Mbappe.
Think of it, no one would have heard his name had he adopted Cameroon as national team. Am sure even PSG wouldn't have hesitated to sell him compared to how they are on his neck currently to extend his contract and play the next matches.

This corruption is one that has eaten deep into almost all facets of sports in various African countries. Most times too, it is players decision as to the best place to settle. It is what led Asafa Powell to run for Jamaica,  Dele Alli to play for England, Emmanuel Adebayor to play for Togo,  Gabriel Agbonlahor to play for England.
So many players exist that had to play for other nationality for good reasons besides bribe. While it is true that bribe may have led Mbappe to play for France, let's not forget that he had spent his early career days in France and would have had to still face serious competition for team place in an African side with less prospect of world cup dominance.
Let's forget the story of the bribe, it just isn't like he made a wrong decision not to pay the bribe, but a more deliberate effort to maintain a promising career.

That is true. However, before I was aware about his sad reality african players face on their native countries, I had a wrong perception about them. I thought they were the faulty ones for not willing to play for their homeland and fighting to boost it to the next level inside soccer industry. I imagined they just despised their countries to play for foreigner ones as mercenaries. But now I see why they go through this route: that is because the foreigner countries are the ones which actually value them as professionals and give all the necessary tools they need to develop themselves inside the career.

But one striking revelation was that he would have been a cameroonian player if they weren't asking his father to pay them money before allowing him to play while he still trying to fix his career and French allowed him without payment.
I heard someone say that FIFA must draw up a law where it says that all players must play for the country where their parents are descendants, only so many African players would play for their African teams and be a power in world soccer and FIFA must also give 10 to 12 slots to the African continent for more African teams to qualify for the World Cup. I laughed because of how ignorant the person is with respect to football in the continent of Africa. My research I have done on why most players of African descent do player for their country made me come to the conclusion that there are a plethora of factors such as the one mentioned by the OP restricting these players. Indeed they want to play for their African countries and at the same time they do not want to go through all the dramas just to be in the team. That is why they just opt for the country they were birthed in or naturalized in.

"At first, I wanted my son to play for Cameroon, but someone at the Cameroonian Football Federation charged me money that I didn't have to make him play," he explained. " The French charged nothing."

I have also heard of some local stories about how some coaches require money from new footballers before they allow them on trier both in their clubs and national teams. Is this happening globally for new players who are still seeking to find a spot in clubs?

Do you think Cameroun miss Mbappe or it is Mbappe that missed Cameroun ?

From the look of things it quite obvious that its Cameroon that missed out on a chance for one of the best players in the world to have grasp their playing Field and who knows what they would have achieved with him playing there, I mean look at the genius performance with the French team they almost won the world cup if not for faith that has already deem them to lose to the Argentines.

But sadly this kinda of events is what has been taking place in almost all the African teams because of the level of corruption that has eaten into the country's  system.

This is somewhat normal especially in local clubs or even in the most prestigious clubs anywhere in this world, money always moves everything and if you're that someone who wanted to play in a specific team and then the team doesn't see any capabilities within you, there is a chance that they will ask for money for you to play in their club. But after that, it is not guaranteed that you will have those certain minutes in every game because the fact is still the same, they don't trust you with the time.

I mean, not all clubs do this but I'm certain enough that there are some instances like these that are hidden behind the curtains.

Now for the question, obviously, Cameroon missed that chance to hire Mbappe to their team.

I would agree with you that this tend to happen in local clubs and its truly bad and I don't know why football association seem to be corrupt on this issue. Football is a game of skill and anyone possessing these skills should be allowed to participated not withholding them and asking for extra money in order for them to express their talents and skill and anyway it's a big loss for Cameroon, mbappe would have made their team a whole better.

With having the current era and technology and accessibility that we do have today then its really truly that easy to express and let the public know if ever there's something that you do really want or like to address
specially something like this which do pertains about some corruption or whatsoever but its not precisely or completely be that could happen because there are really indeed things which cant surface out and this is when
both parties do make out such agreement and of course this one wont really be talking that small amount of money. Corruption isnt only that happening on sports world but also in other industries as well.
Im not really that shocked anymore on what are the possible not known transactions that happen behind those curtains. Bribe or paying up for them to play? Its not impossible and as long
there would be those people who would be sitting on the top or having the authority then its always that possible.

This doesn't just happen in Cameroon, this happens in all of soccer for all I know. The whole football scene is like this and they always victimize young talents that just wanted to play a fair game of soccer but couldn't because either their current roster's marketability is great enough that even if they don't win that much they still could get brand deals and make money off the players, or they just win so many games that changing the roster is going to affect their chances at claiming titles.

Either way it's stupid and there have been contingencies set in case something similar happens, otherwise I don't see why they would take in new talents in the first place.

This game is just stupid sometimes man. It's hard to defend it when even the system's rigged against the player.

It doesn't happen globally his father just said the French charge nothing so they stay with the French team. I'm not really familiar with football sports but I can see this is pretty much similar to other sports where players are being pirated by headhunters. Quite a revelation from Mbappe, will the football federation do something about this because someone just went rogue.

But I'm guessing the French team needs good players and they can't just let Mbappe go to some other team. No need to bribe says the captain just let us win.

The fact that an established team is doing this is evidence enough that perhaps, this also happens in other leagues. You already said this happens in other sports, so what makes you think that this only happens in the Cameroonian Team? That's a little bit unreasonable you know. Plus it doesn't change the fact that the Cameroonian team was asking for a bribe before they even let Mbappe play for them. It doesn't matter that the French team who took him up didn't ask him for a bribe. What this signifies in essence is the fact that this type of corruption happens in sports, and it's a little optimistic to assume that only one team in a league filled with hundreds of countries vying for the top spot has ever committed to such act.

Every players have their own unique experiences when it comes to joining the league and maybe this is true since he will not say that and just ruin his reputation. Well this might not be a requirement but maybe a small team can’t pay that much and that’s why they need something in return so they can accept that player.

I don't believe that Cameroon FA is a small team. Cameroon is known in world class FIFA football tournament having been the first of Africa country to o reach the quarter finals in Italia 90. So it is not a small team that the government can't source out funds for the team. It is just the human greed that few people will want to take opportunity on. The FA didn't make a counter claim on what mbappe said and I don't think he said it with heavy heart or to spite nor indict anybody. After all, he only said that regarding the FA and not on any personality.

If other players will make a statement like this, then we can validate that statement and I’m sure its not happening anymore.

These kind of news are being filtered as rumour in local football but the difference with this is that it was made public.

There is something that can be changed in FIFA, namely the people, but that is impossible because the people in FIFA are also controlled by people who have a strong influence, so if you want to stop it, try to break the chain. But it's not easy because this has been going on for decades, and we don't know the root of the problem.

Perhaps, we can do it in our respective countries, but if there is influence from a strong person who has great power in our country and interferes in sports matters, it seems like it will be difficult to do. The morale of the people must be corrected so that corruption does not happen again, but this has been happening for a long time and is difficult to stop but not impossible.

I'm not surprised that this is happening, especially in sports federation and organizations that are handled by the government. There's just too much corruption going around these days that every single thing is riddled with it. It is Cameroon's loss, as we can see that Mbappe is really shining in his current team. His potential was honed, skills sharpened, and talent used.

In relatively rich countries, they can afford to pay for everything that their sports team needs, hence why France made Mbappe play without paying anything. But even then, poor countries should still allocate something for the development of their sports program and not charge aspirants in playing for their country.

That's the sad reality of life, not only in sports but other industries as well.
Some people are getting their position owed to bribery, as there will be officials that are prone to corruption.
But if you are good enough, you will find your way to achieve what you want in life, just like Mbappe.
He proved that he has the skills but is now representing other country, which is willing to accept him even without the bribe.
It is like a slap in the face for those people that who didn't accept him because he had no money. That's a good revenge though.
