my mixinsafe review
For this review I had to download a couple of app which can enable me set up and review the mixin safe multisig wallet perfectly and yes many of us don't know it's even a wallet as I thought differently too until I had a chance to test the whole software myself due to name given @MIXIN which sounds as if it's a mixer service but it's actually a wallet for storing of your coins which has vast security advantage unlike any other I have used.
So things I used for the review are
1. Mixin messanger app
2. Mornin key app
2. Mixin safe website
3. Two smartphones of which one holds the mornin key app.
firstly I downloaded the mixin messanger app from playstore which was free and then installed and created an account on it which was very fast and convenient since I had no issues with receiving the OTP for account verification.
Then I tried setting up my pin and unlocking the wallet option which was unusually from any other pin setting mode I have came across because it required me to submit my pin for 4 time verification which is security good because you can't actually forget after inputting your and confirming your pin for four times
*After this my wallet in the mixin messenger pop up and saw so many options of coins of which I can send and also receive.
* Then I tried setting up my emergency contact which required me to get a verification code from the user of which I want to add up as my emergency contact which was successfully done also.
Secondly After setting up my mixin messenger app, I now open up the mixin safe website and the process of login into the site is very peculiar because it's requires a scan from your mixin messenger app to automatically redirect you to your login page.
* After a successful login, I followed the tutorial and tried to create a safe for my transaction on the mixin safe wallet.
* After successful putting a name and selecting the network I had to go back and install my morning key app of which I used to scan my mixin safe QR code to successful get a backup key safe in morning key app.
* I proceeded to the next phase which required me to add a member and selected the amount of users that will serve a security protocols for my transactions in my wallet.
* After successful setting my member key, it was time to proceed to the next page and now I was required to purchase a plan to proceed with the creation of the safe and I selected the 2$ plan since it's a beta testing version of the wallet.
* After this stage a payment window popped up and I was required to pay the fee of 2$ and I tried if I can send directly to a bitcoin address tag to this payment but couldn't so then I saw the option of using my mixin messenger and I had to fund the messenger app worth BTC of that amount.
* After the payment I was redirected to the mixinsafe website of which I was still logged in and I am saying this because the transaction took some time to carry out as I was experiencing some network issues so I thought the whole page would have been cancelled but it was still very active which is quite good seeing that your login session doesn't end easily in the website.
* My safe was successfully created and now active and ready for the remaining test ups.
testing deposit For depositing into the mixing safe wallet it pretty quite simple as all I needed was the deposit address of my mix in safe or a scan of the BTC address as it also had a scan option for the receiving address which was a regular address of receiving bitcoin so I just copied it and went to binance exchange of which I had some coins and made the deposit of bitcoin of which didn't take long to arrive and after successful confirmations the coins actually reflected on my mixinsafe and the process was cool.
* Withdrawal too was quite easy as it required me to click on new transaction and select the safe you would need for the transaction that's if you created more than one safe I guess but for mine it only showed my single safe so I clicked on next and inputted the address which I want to send the coins to then I was asked to select member approval depending on how many threshold and members you have set up in your safe.
* After that the whole process still boils down to the user key as the final key access of which the mornin key is used to scan the transaction code to give full access to the transaction which is quite easy and well protected if you ask me.
Conclusion *After the whole process I had to wait and keep my browser in check with the mixin safe website to see if I would be log out or still have active log in after some time but it turn out at first I was logged in for many hours but the login session later expired and I was logged out and it required me to scan the code on the site again to log in.
* The security of this wallet is very cool and smooth as every process require a final scan of the mornin key to verify the step.
* The online customer service options is very fast in responds and it's good for people who can't or have major questions concerning the mixin safe site as they always respond to questions in time.
*My overall experience with the wallet is good and would love have them finish up the beta mode and officially make full adjustments so it can be fully accessed for use because for now the red write up on top the log in page make you kinda cautious into using the wallet fully.
