enteres my picks for this round early on
with all considered, Leverkusen vs Dortmund will probably be most interesting match this round, and could be a good to watch

if Leverkusen overcome Dortmund with a win, they are putting high their ambitions, it does seem that they have quality, but winning all-round domestically and in Europe does require more depth in the squad

If Bayer wins, it will be their 9th victory in a row (in the Bundesliga) and Dortmund's 3rd defeat in a row. I really like Bayer and would like it to win, but I chose Dortmund because I don't think these strange series should go on for so long. If Bayer still wins, I will be glad that I was mistaken, the only unpleasant option for me will be a draw.

the bundesliga match scheduled for today between bayern münchen and union berlin was canceled due to heavy snowfall.
the matchday winner will therefore only be determined after the game has been played - unless we have a participant who is already 5 points ahead of the second-placed player after these 8 games

The game will most likely be rescheduled for mid or end of January and could then effectively interfere with Bayern's plans for the training camp. I think especially for Bayern this is bad as they are looking forward to a tough second half of the season and I doubt anyone there would like the training camp to be cancelled.

Yes, as you can see, two series were doomed to end and the result from this point of view is super logical. It's funny that I was completely confident that I had bet on Dortmund. In any case I would have received zero points because of draw, but I was amazed to see that I had chosen 2-1 in favor of Bayer - as always, I bet in a hurry and either mixed up or "believed" the bookmakers.

efilatis probably knows that he only needs to provide his picks for maybe 25 matchdays and still win the Bundesliga pool...

His average was quite high and he would probably be leading or be ranked among the top three or so had he provided all his picks every week.

I think this wasn't about falling for the books. Leverkusen played the game and I have rarely seen Dortmund be in such a defensive position for almost the whole game. It's maybe when they play against Bayern, but other than that I don't think so. This was again a lucky result for Dortmund.

If we assume that the average number of points per round is around 10, then you are behind by 3 rounds, which is quite serious and such a gap is difficult to make up.
On the other hand, if you consider that abnormal winning results for tours are around 25 points, then literally a couple of victories can return you to business, almost to first place (if your competitors are not too successful).
In general, it’s too early to give up competing for first place.

Thank you for not taking the wind out of my sails! Yes, I'm aiming for the first place, as everyone of us here. We have a lot of tries until the Matchday 34 in May 2024, so, anyone can still end up on the first place. What's important is to never forget making a prediction. I thought that PSG-Newcastle is an equal opportunity game, that can go any side, and couldn't believe odds on Newcastle, so had to put them in bet, and also in CL competition

but last minute penalty, that even football officials assigned as bad decision, brought my bets down
for sure, Newcastle is more down then me

After the postponement of the Bayern Munich match I thought that I won the yellow cap. Now I'm going to wait for this match to be played. Interesting round ahead, isn't it? Teams from the top 7 play among themselves and the results are far from obvious, especially in the pairs Dortmund - Leipzig and Stuttgart - Bayer.
The last pair especially confuses me - both teams should not be so high... will It really be the most unpleasant result for both teams - draw?

Corners – 1:9
Ball possession 38% - 62%

Do you agree that from these statistics it is impossible to see the score 5-1? Recently Aston Villa won against City and the score 1-0 was lucky for City as the opponent completely dominated.

Didn't followed game and when I saw poster with result on social media, I thought it's mistake and Bayern actually won 5:1. It seems that Bayern almost every season have to suffer at least one big defeat that doesn't makes sense. Good point about Bayern taking out their anger against MU, but MU should be angry after getting trashed by Bournemouth 0:3 at Old Trafford LOL .
Leipzig just scored 2nd goal against Dortmund and leading 1:2 with 30 minutes remaining. Hummels got early red card, but somehow it didn't looked that Leipzig have more players on pitch. Though, now it will be very difficult for Dortmund to get positive result today.
