So, today is the big day! First, starting with 3rd place game between Canada and USA. I really wish that Canada would win, I think that they deserved medal. And maybe poor result 2nd World Cup in a row would change US attitude a bit and next time they will bring more serious squad with some 1st tier stars.
And final between Serbia and Germany. Pointless to predict something, but what I can say that I doubt that Germany can win with such crazy offense like they did against USA, Serbia won't let it to happen. I expect to see a bit more defense. Will watch game from more or less neutral perspective, but probably I will prefer Germany to win.

USA has lost 4 times in this tournament and all those defeats were not in important matches, I mean not decisive so I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again

I doubt there is a game fixing in the battle for the bronze. At the very least, it could be that some American players aren't that interested in the 3rd place and will lose the fire in them. But I am pretty sure that their coach Steve Kerr wants to win the 3rd place. This is a challenge to him and he will do everything to enlighten his team in getting a win. The same with Canada, they want this 3rd place and then come back stronger next year in the Paris Olympics with their experience.

For me, I am OK with the two teams but for sure I will bet because I like the USA and I like any teams in the FIBA because I think that the USA will be motivated to get any position in the FIBA because they likely lost a close game against Germany but for sure I will feel OK even if the USA lost this game but this is just what I think may happen in this game, but anything can surely happen this is Basketball after all,

But man it is really hard to pick on the finals because both teams could surely win and this is really a close game for sure but I have chosen Germany because they got a Footballer on their team so yeah they could kick the ball in the ring instead of shooting with hands, (just kidding)

I really think he doesn't mean something like that but yeah fixing a game in FIBA is really impossible I guess there could be a referee favoring a team but for an official to be favoring something that would be obvious for sure and yeah why bother fixing a game for the 3rd place why not for the championship,

But I am pretty sure that their coach Steve Kerr wants to win the 3rd place. This is a challenge to him and he will do everything to enlighten his team in getting a win. The same with Canada, they want this 3rd place and then come back stronger next year in the Paris Olympics with their experience.

We can't be sure whether they did it or not but we don't know what happened behind the scenes we know that USA is always the champion so it's a bit strange if they are fighting for 3rd/4th place imo. Regardless of our opinion, we should just wait and see how this ends this match will start in a few minutes and I will ignore it by not placing a bet, our focus is on Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 if USA points are less than 50 points in the first half then it could be suspected

though I'm in the impression that key players would try to avoid any possible injury and just play the usual routine.

It was the worst performance by the USA, and they need to be evaluated to prevent such occurrences in the future. I would like to congratulate Canada; they performed well tonight and beat the USA. Another seemed to be unsportsmanlike foul was called on Portis before the game ended; they were clearly frustrated.

I was wondering if the score is normal like that. In four quarters scoring 111:111 for the two teams before overtime started, isn't that a hell lot of points?  Each quarter is just 10 minutes and this is a score average that I thought would be way above of what is normally to be expected.

But USA was the big favorite and I think they had a hard time to motivate themselves to play for 3rd as good as they would play as if it was for the title. This was a disappointing tournament for them.

The USA had big comebacks in the 4th quarter in both games but still ended up losing in the end. Against Germany, they only lost by 2 points, while against Canada, they had a chance to win in overtime after an unbelievable shot from Bridges. It's just that their execution wasn't consistent.

They are playing at a high pace, and their three-point shooting percentage is high. Canada was able to keep up with the USA as their starters are also from the NBA, so the NBA system was used; it's just that Canada played better than the USA. By the way, Brooks scored 39 points; that's how valuable he is, and I think the Rockets weren't wrong in signing him to a decent contract.

On the Final's game, i have in my mind on betting for Germany but upon seeing your post, I changed my mind and bet for Serbia hehe hope I won't be the reason why Serbia lost this game if ever. Odds are almost even so this is just a guessing game for us whose teams got eliminated early hehe.

For me, this game is going to go down to the wire. Both teams are not in a familiar place as they have not reached the Finals before, if I'm not mistaken, so they will both be eager to win. While the Canada vs. USA game was high-scoring, I expect this one to be the opposite, as defense will definitely be the priority here.

If there's an award for being the shot of the tournament then that should be up there. There was luck involve but his awareness to collect his own miss and make the game-tying shot was just amazing to watch.

This is going to be interesting, just a few minutes to go before the Finals clash between Germany and Serbia. In my sports bookies, the line changed again in just a matter of minutes before the game commences and Serbia is now the favorite.

It seems to me that the crowd is divided here as some are saying that Serbia got an upper hand because even if most of their players aren't from NBA, they can't still be underestimated as they managed to get in this position and being a defensive team is not easy to oppose. But I'd say, Germany is the same too, if they focus too much on Dennis, it will be their loss because the other players in the same roster cannot be left unguarded.

But it's not what happened a few hours ago because I think most of us here witnessed how close and tight their scores are, so I think that we can already ease ourselves by thinking that there is a chance of a game fixing in FIBA games mainly in this phase. Doesn't matter what I think because that's not important at this point because we already saw how the game goes and ended fair and square.
