When we don't know about something we can't value it. Your friend who did such a thing may have been very angry without realizing it, but when he realized how valuable bitcoins are, he let  his anger and became even more grateful to that father in the future. If the friend's father had given him some idea in advance, this situation might not have arisen. Because of that friend's ignorance, he could have lost that bitcoin. Above all we all should acquire some technological knowledge so that later we get basic idea about any good technological thing.

He just needs to appreciate what his father left him since that was not a bad thing to have because all he needs to do is to search for his father's will and it could be leading him to some appreciation of bitcoins as well because he will gonna research it well and learn more about it in the process he will gonna become one of the fans of bitcoins because of his father.

according to my experience if parents are doing some business then their children are already familiar with that opportunity. Your friend's father done one mistakes that without giving him knowledge he directly place bitcoin in front of him so without knowledge it's obvious that he will not accept it easily.

Nice work there @OP on calming down your friend.  There are always people who are hot-headed and gut infuriated when they received the one they are not expecting.  In this case @OP's friend receive Bitcoin and since that is not in the option of the thing he thinks he will receive and with lacking knowledge, the guy throws a tantrum, lol.  Due to being furious the guy lost the essense of reasoning and think that receiving Bitcoin(due to lack of understanding of what Bitcoin is) means he get nothing.

It's just the way it is, when we don't understand something, then it becomes something that seems useless to us. Even more so regarding Bitcoin, where many people are still unfamiliar with this. Or if they know, they think that Bitcoin is nonsense, because it is intangible and only a digital product. Luckily your friend has you who wants to tell and teach him to understand better about Bitcoin. Even though it might not be an easy step, at least you help him to know about Bitcoin, its various benefits and also don't forget to mention some of the possible risks that may occur.

Seriously, your friend's father has done a great thing by keeping some valuable amounts of Bitcoin for his son to inherit, but his father made a mistake by not encouraging his son to know about Bitcoin when he knew he wanted his son to inherit Bitcoin after he passed away. His father should have encouraged your friend to have some basic knowledge about Bitcoin, despite the fact that he doesn't want him to know about what he wants him to inherit, because if not for his father's good layer and Op's also a good friend, it would be a scam because he knows nothing about Bitcoin or lost the access to it.

It’s possible because I know some people that haven’t heard about bitcoin before, in my country if you visit some rural areas, their are lots of people their that know nothing about bitcoin, and if you really want to introduce some of them to bitcoin, they will think you are planning to scam them or something like that, and some of them that have heard about bitcoin before don’t still know what bitcoin is all about, they believe bitcoin is being used to scam, so if you want to tell them about bitcoin, they will tag you as a scammer, so most of them don’t really want to invest in bitcoin.

We know that not all people would really be having knowledge into particular things on which it would really be just that normal that your friend would be able to miss out on what Bitcoin or crypto is.
Good thing the he has a friend like you on which who do really knows about  Bitcoin and able to tell him about on what it is and does really have that value which he could really make use of on buying up something that he do wants but of course it would really be depending on the amount on his father was able to give out because if its really just that small then its something that you can buy on the things you do like or want. That's true, I can say that there are also a lot of people with multiple accounts unfortunately, some of them do get caught, not sure if it's allowed or not but shouldn't be allowed if you ask me. In the end we are talking about a situation where it's not that profitable and the result should not be that simple. I think it's clear that we are going to end up with something that will benefit people in the end.

I am not entirely guaranteed on anything that would make sense, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't show any result one way or another, we should be considering the option to be a little different here. Many people doubt the OP's story but I believe it to be true since many people around me also know nothing about bitcoin. Although nowadays we can easily come across the bitcoin logo or anything related to it with the development of the internet. But if they really don't care, then no matter how many times they see it, they won't know anything about it. I believe the OP's friend case is solved, because as you said, as long as he knew the use and value of bitcoin, he would pounce lustfully.

Your friend's mentality is totally wrong. Even if he got the money to start a business, like he said, I'm pretty sure he would have failed because he's not someone who is willing to learn and understand new things. If he wanted to reject the bitcoins without even knowing what they were how could he manage a business when you need to learn new things everyday?

For sure the father should have talked to him time ago about bitcoin, what it is, why it's important, etc etc, but that kind of reaction, coming from an adult, is just ridiculous.

Spending a long period of time on the internet doesn't mean someone should hear about bitcoin. What you don't know, you don't know. Take it or leave it. And hearing about Bitcon is different from having knowledge of Bitcoin. Just because someone knows that Bitcoin is an asset doesn't mean they believe in it or accept it. It is very simple and well known that many people are on social media, and yet these people are yet to know anything about bitcoin, even if they are young ones, because if you are not ready to know something, even if you come across it, you will just pass it by because that person does not take it seriously that he or she needs to know.

lol, you're friend sounds kinda dumb and immature if I'm being honest. No offense, but just saying.  I've had a lot of friends who are ignorant to how bitcoins work and have educated them, often times doing things like teaching them how to load a hardware wallet and things of that nature, but I've never ran in to an inheritance situations like this.

I would have asked what next but I believe  the rest is history and I'm  curious to know of no one in the family except the father was the only one who knew about bitcoin  and how will his father know about bitcoin  upto  even having it and willing it to his son without letting the son know about bitcoin  by teaching him because I believe your friend is already mature enough but as I said, the rest is history.

Same here, I wonder how does that lawyer never explains to the son what Bitcoin is.  I doubt the lawyer does not know Bitcoin since his client had put it on the testament.  I am sure the father thinks that there will be confusion if his son do not know about BTC and it is the duty of the lawyer to explain about the detail of the will and testament.

I think this depends on the interest of the person since there are lots of category to get interested with like when a person is hooked on manhwa, I am sure that Manhwa and Bitcoin is too far related from each other so there is a chance that the manhwa lover won't get any information about Bitcoin nor popup on his feed about cryptocurrency.
