I do not know where you live that a bank is willing to give that amount to their clients, but if this is true be very careful as there should be something wrong with the economy or the bank itself for such a high interest rate to be given, most banks give way less than that and when you consider that inflation is many times higher than what you are given you will eventually realize you are not getting profits but instead you are just losing purchasing power slightly slower, now altcoins are not perfect either as that term includes tens of thousands of project, with some being good and the rest being absolutely terrible, so unless you are talking about the best altcoins there are I would avoid those two options as neither of them are good enough.

Two wildly different investments.  When you trade crypto, especially altcoins ypu can lose your money in an instant.  Playing it safe with banks won't net you the upside but the downward risk is much less as well.  Trading altcoins should only be done with money you are willing to lose just like with gambling.

What kind of bank investment are you talking here? Because in my country they can only offer a maximum of 2% per annum or lower on your savings account and if this is stocks, there's no assurance for 8%-10% annual profit. Banks will never give such huge profit in my country, they control the people and this is why its better to take the risk on investing with crypto instead of just putting your money on a bank and let them sleep there. The risk with crypto is there as well, you just have to choose the best investment for you.

what does 2% per year amounts to like mentioned by some people above, quite literally nothing. with altcoins you can at least get more than 50% profit everytime there's a bullrun which definitely gonna take you ages if you just try to deposits your money in bank but most certainly it depends on your preferences.
its just overall, not really that much profit you can get from just deposits even i think many stocks investors out there considers these rates to be somewhat miniscule.

Bank? Giving 8-10% annual profits? Which country are you living in right now? I might transfer to that country because here, the banks are giving at most 1% only.
Kidding aside, I don't think that banks are giving that high amount of interest towards their depositors/investors. If you bought their stock then maybe it can give you 8-10% annual profit depending on the bank, and other factors, but if you are pertaining to banks giving 8-10% to those depositors who are depositing money to them then something's wrong with you OP because I don't think that they are giving that high.

well, those are the ups and downs of both. when there are advantages, there will be disadvantages. so many people choose to save their money in the bank to get that advantage. mostly, in investment books, taking advantage of bank interest is also one of the things recommended. it's just that, the turnaround in profits is very slow. this can be felt its benefits only when we save large amounts of money. If you want a definite profit that you have nothing to worry about, you will put it in the bank even though it is low per annum every year it is if you trust the bank. What is the point of comparing high-risk investments and bank deposits? They are completely different ways of investing your money and completely different risks. As a rule, if you want a lot of money, then you need to take more risks, otherwise there is no other way. Bank deposits are more for preserving the value of your money, not for making money. Altcoin investments are used for getting rich quick, not for preserving the value of your money. I have never seen any altcoin investor who invested $100,000 in altcoins, then withdrew the same $100,000 after 3 years and was satisfied.

Probably the country's economy is out of control and inflation is eating purchasing power from citizens in large scale, so banks offer high interest rates, although they don't mean too much on practice, as prices of goods and services must be rising much more than 8%-10% annually.

In every cases I wouldn't keep a large portion of my money in fiat or altcoins, because the first is unprofitable (even when invested at the bank) and the second is too risky (we never know if a determined altcoin will maintain its rank on crypto market from one bull run to another). I prefer to keep the investment in solid assets such as BTC or properties, as these have proved to be reliable ones along the time.

To be honest, I personally would prefer to invest in cryptocurrencies, especially for some of the top coins that are considered worthy, especially in Bitcoin. Making deposits and saving at the bank might be a way too, but for me, this is not an option for me. I think you already know what the answer is, just based on the risk factors involved banks would be safer, and crypto would be riskier, in terms of the rewards they'd be the opposite, banks would be lower while crypto would reach sky-high levels if really lucky. There are other factors involved though, like inflation as others have said and in which case, doesn't affect crypto at all but at the same time, crypto is subjected to possible market manipulation attacks especially those that are relatively new (and at the same time, would probably have a greater risk-reward ratio).

If we are going to put Bitcoin aside from the table then I will definitely go with the Banks and related investments. If we are going to compare this against the altcoins then I have better options with higher returns and fewer risks. For example, I can simply rely on Mutual funds, Recurring deposits, and Fixed Deposits and have as high as 8.15% to 22% returns on various investment instruments. I am not saying altcoins are that bad, but they are worst sometimes and they could make you broken fast. The only problem is their short life span, ability to lose the clients and their trust, and most importantly they go bankrupt or spammy in a very short period of time. These are the few points I never understood about the Altcoins that make it the worst investment for us. I am not blaming the entire altcoin ecosystem but this is the case with most of them and hence its worrisome.

Same here.  At least in banks our money is at least secured and we know who to go after if there is something wrong that happens.  The fund is also insured unlike in altcoin which is prone to scams and rug pulls.  There are lots of incidents of rug pulls already and the hacking events where the money of the investors got drained and yet no one from the developer ever refunded those lost funds.
