It is the same here in our country where food prices have gone up, the inflation rate has increased and even if it's not a double-digit percentage still that's quite high for most of us. The transportation sector has also made their hikes for the fares and that's because of unstoppable oil price hikes which is also another cause of the food price increase. Commodities have truly gone up but I believe that despite it's going to be hard to go back to the normal prices that we used to see it, at least a slash of its prices will definitely help a lot of us to cope up with this craziest trend which is the price hikes for most things.

If you are really just that an average worker on which your salary is really just that enough for a certain budget then any changes in price even on the slightest number would really be having that significant impact into your

budget and this is why i cant really blame out to those people who would really be having that kind of reaction even though it would really be that too highly that reactive but i do understand that part.
I agree on some points that it isnt really that always taking out the blame by the government since prices could really be that something in line with those world-market prices but we cant really that
able to avoid not to have questions specially of importation and exportation is already into that certain extent which it isnt really that something right anymore.

You would really be expecting people to have this kind of questioning about on whats happening with the governance of a certain country on which or where you are living in.
You would really be raising up with those kind of questions and concern regarding with those climbing prices.

It's normal to have that question because it's not normal for the most to see the continuous increase in price of commodities. We can't do anything with that.
We're just a peasant of our own and this system so, whatever price they dictate, it will just so happen no matter what's the trend locally and globally. We have to tight our belts and pockets because there seems to be a solution being taken by our government.

But there is an oddity that I found in the price of eggs which has actually fallen drastically at the moment in several regions in Indonesia. So many breeders complain about this. For consumers, this is a good thing, but for breeders, this is clearly detrimental to them. I think it's strange that when the price of meat goes up why eggs don't go up too. But the market price is difficult to predict.

Sorry to hear about the whole drought issue causing some instability of food prices and the alike,  but am interested to know if you are affected by the oil prices too as this was what came to mind with the whole Russia- Ukraine war which has destabilized the oil/gas prices world over..and it's effects have a ripple effect to pretty much everything though we have adjusted and used to it by now.

During the COVID lockdown itself there is big rise in the food price, and during those days it wasn't that big as people got shut within their homes. Here other expenses were limited which didn't make the food price a big issue. Now everything have begun to run normally and the additional expenses make it look big. Then onwards people will get used to it and some sort of self cultivation will be the choice to overcome the increasing food price.

Maybe what you say is true. Well, the farmers who benefit from selling agricultural products that have increased rapidly are seen to be getting big profits. But I forgot that the prices of other basic necessities are also increasing rapidly. So selling expensively is still balanced by buying other necessities which are also increasing. So it can be said that this is a balanced reciprocity.
At least farmers can offset the increase in prices of other basic commodities after they also sell and make more money.

Well, the ones that don't have it easy are those with low incomes. They have to start thinking and making some cuts to their spending needs. But the best solution may just be to earn extra income.

Yet, on comparison with the BRICS nations the food price in my country is low. I live in Indonesia, the central region (Sorry I don't want to be specific here). Well, farmers here sell their agricultural products locally. But here there was quite a serious crop failure due to drought. Well, it hasn't rained here in a long time. About a few months ago the last time it rained. And the agricultural sector here is in a fairly high area. So here there is a lot of agricultural land that only relies on the rainy season. Meanwhile, in the dry season everything is left without planting anything. Well, in my opinion, the current increase in rice prices is the highest increase that I know of so far. But I heard the news that the government will solve it by importing rice from several countries. But I haven't heard any further news about this.

I don't know if were in the same country, but here rice has been spiking crazy high. There was no report about significant increase in oil, which usually the basis of the prices in the market but the price of the rice has been increasing lately. Sure it was because of the shortage, but I'm pretty sure it's not because of the resources that we have that's making the stock being short, but it's probably because of the big businessmen who's trying to hoard thousands sacks of rice, forcing it to make it looks like there's a shortage. Some local government units are also involved in concealing this stocks helping it more safer for the greedy businessmen.

Well, in the discussion of farmers and their profits, there are certainly various factors that need to be considered. For example, according to an article by Will Snell in 2022, inflation causes pressure on farm commodity prices which in turn demands farm inputs that include borrowed funds. Additionally, the effects vary if the individual getting or losing profit is a farmland investor, a permanent landowner, or a land renter. Additionally, Marc Guilfoil, owner of Evans Mill Cattle Company stated that farmers are also being affected by the inflation as they have to pay higher prices for weed-killing chemicals, crop seeds, fertilizer, equipment repairs, and seasonal labor which are all detrimental to ensure that the farm is working and producing goods. Since August in my country, the price of food, especially food staples such as wheat, rice and others, has experienced a very high price increase. This was apparently caused by the ongoing drought. Which makes several areas of plantations and rice fields fail to harvest due to lack of availability of water to water the plants. And this makes food stocks in the market start to run low from time to time. And yes, the price hike ensued. Rice prices here have even increased by around 9-10 percent in the last month in my area. For sure, all countries were affected by it because in my country it was the same, and what's worse is that the fare is getting expensive, and also everything gets expensive because, like food, it will be transferred from this location to another, which needs a vehicle, and that vehicle runs on gas, so the price goes up. Though past week's prices of oil came down in our country, this week it was already announced that they were increasing, so again we are back to higher prices.

It's great that you have price controls in India. In my country, everything rises in price several times a year. For everything without exception. The government just spat on its people a long time ago. They only worry about their own enrichment and their comfortable standard of living.

Indeed, the role of the government is very large in increasing food prices, in fact the government can do many ways to maintain price stability but they seem reluctant to do so and prefer to prioritize things that will benefit themselves. I see many governments of underdeveloped countries or developing countries that are indeed they don't really care about policies that benefit the common people and even exist in some agrarian countries but food prices continue to increase and farmers don't get big profits because all of this is played by the oligarchic government to make themselves and their groups richer, that is it's a very sad thing and in my country it's still like that.

Inflation is just the cause for the increments of food price in the market and the price is not coming down because the economy keeps going bad. In my region the price of petrol has been the reason why things are getting very expensive because petrol is the major means for transportation it is affecting the price of every product in the market. The world economy is serious struggling to become better but it still keeps on getting tough that is why the price of things will keep on skyrocketing.

In some areas where I live, because they are in rural areas, food prices are still quite stable because it is easy for us to find basic commodities, but in urban areas, since the start of the dry season or not, the prices of basic commodities are still expensive because they depend on supplies from the villages. In August, almost every region experiences a long dry season, quite a few agricultural lands fail to harvest as you experienced. Therefore, I always prepare for a long period of time to buy basic needs within a week or a month, this can avoid unexpected increases in raw material prices on the market. Even though in rural areas we still depend on fertilizers from factories because at this time apart from non-organic fertilizers, the use of organic fertilizers also needs to be balanced.
