I also think that the profession of a jockey is a very dangerous profession and few people who truly love horses are capable of such work.  Therefore, in particular, there are few professional-level jockeys.  For these reasons, this sport in my opinion is becoming less and less popular. 
But these races are a tradition in many countries and competitions will still be held in the future

Lol, I am into gambling really but I cant help but agree with you that indeed, sometimes, the way some sports event are presented, makes such sports an easy turn off for watchers, as well as potential gamblers who might want to have placed some bets on the game.

A recent example for me is the women's world cup tournament that came and ended some months back, this years women world cup was the first ever I decided to sit down and possibly bet on, but unfortunately, I wasn't at all impressed, I only ended up betting on about 3 or 4 matches at the beginning and never placed a bet on any of the game again until the tournament came to an end.

I don't think channels like this exist again unlike before where you could choose to select from a variety of channels that shows or stream horse racing, maybe this is due to the advanced technology that people now create more atrent of sport bettings and their games in the likes of football being the most recognized one of them all, horse racing seems to be an ancient or historical game or form of entertainment which people have advanced from it to others, both the live horse racing and it gambling on casino bets are no more invoke.

Agree with this as we all know that before horse is the only animal will use in our daily lives. As we all know that through horses they will travel far from where they are. And also in ancients time horses use to battles so horses is very historic animal. But nowadys there are some countries who are actually doing horde racing as a sports and yes it will good to watch that. But many countries did not let the horse racing maybe they don't have the field or there are any reasons behind that.

Almost all my horse racing experience is from trotting.

I used to play on horse racing a lot before and it did go quite well, I think horse racing is a much less lucky game and more skill game then sport betting.

I don't think that horse trainers and caretakers mistreat their horses at all.
I seen horses die in races, but that is often because some wrong with their heart or something.
Accidents happens of course sadly and it's always a nightmare to watch one.
But that caretakers would abuse a horse with purpose won't happen since they love them as their own babies.
Even if a owner would push the trainer and caretaker to top the horse for best result he would not succeed.

Well it's hard to pick a winner in a race, since so much can happen in a race.
Me myself only bet on trotting, and in a trotting race you will need to look out for how fast the horse are at the start and what spot the horse have behind the car or in the volt.
Example to start on number 1-2 behind the car is very good if you are fast out at the beginning, if you are slow you risk to be stuck at the inside lane and you don't want that.
Perfect position is always in the lead or to be second on the second lane, so you can go out and attack when you want.
A good way to bet is that you bet on what horse that will come first and second for better odds if you have found a horse you will think win a race.
Also know difference of a fast and strong horse, many races are in different length and some horses are better in short distance (Fast horses) and some better at long distance (Strong horses)
It's so many things to know about like a whole world, hard to point at some specific, if you wonder something I gladly help out if I can!

Normal people can still gamble on horse racing. You can still do some side bets on the horse/pilot that you want with the minimum bet which I think majority of the gamblers can afford. It will be a different thing if you are the one who will participate on the horse race like you own/breed/raise the horse. There's no denying that there are gamblers who really are putting massive cash on horse racing but it is the same on other popular gambling games. It's just that it's not the game that everyone likes that is why I think it's unpopular.

Its just really that unheard of and this is why it do really looks that it isnt really that popular but we know that they're indeed existing. It isnt really just that as noisy like we do see on NBA
or Football on which we could really make out that comparison but pretty sure that there would really be specific markets for that. If you do find out that horseracing is your thing then good
one that they've been offering those kind of bets. It is really just that a matter of choice on what kind of sport you are into because each person does have their own favorites.

It do really just turns out that not most people here are interested with it, most of people or users of this forum are really that interested with those sports mentioned aboved.
It is really that evident on trying to just look at on the gambling section on which you could say that interest and recognition is there but for sure
