Well I do not not see anything wrong with real estate as it has proven to be a good investment opportunity. However, making this comparison in a Bitcoin forum actually seem out of place and shows lack of faith on your side.

Nevertheless, if I am to give my opinion, I feel more comfortable with Bitcoin given the ease, comfort, little startup capital and huge profit potential it holds. In addition, the risk in Bitcoin is relatively low compared to real estate as one is completely in control of his investment without any interference.

Everyone will go for which one suit him or her the most, and what also is in line with their believe, so if are to talk about it base on comparisons I believe most people will choose crypto over real estate as crypto might appear to have a higher chances of given back profits than that of real estate, when it comes to security, and experience, I think one will make his choice base on the one he have the most common experience and interest on.

You are right in mentioning that real estate has the potential to accrue over a long period of time as compared against Bitcoin which has a fixed number of 21million,  But remember that a land ceases to be yours after 99years and whether you like it or not, if a government of the day decides one morning that the land looks to be obstructing pedestrian way or they want to use that place for something else, it can be demolished the next day with little to sometimes nothing as compensation. Or, the land can be a swampy area.
 Everyone has his or her preference but if I were choose, I'd go for crypto investment. There's no business that's without risk, bit I'd rather have my privacy maintained when trying to conduct a transaction, than have myself be the puppet of the government.

Personally, crypto simply before I am of a young age and I'm not ready to go a bit more 'safe' yet. But someday, of course I will need to allocate a good chunk of my portfolio into real estate to secure myself a bit. Real Estate requires huge capital in able to acquire one and earn a decent profit through renting or flipping it. If I would have a capital that is sufficient to be involved in rel estate investment then I will go for it since it’s less volatile while the return is good.

Considering my current finances makes me choose crypto over real estate since I can huge percentage out of my small capital with good crypto investment which I can do on real estate. Simply, crypto is for small to medium size investors that’s why common people will choose it like me.

base on the comperisim, the both are very good if someone wants to invest in any of them. but for me, I will go for crypto that's have more sucure than real estate.

If you are still young and just starting to invest for sure crypto would be suitable since it's connected to the technology and internet since almost the generation today are involved in using techs. And if you're old enough you would find investing at real state much better since owning a land would literally give you wide options for passive incomes or you can just sell it once it doubles the price since every year house and lot price increases. Both have their own features and advantages. But if you ask me then, I would love to diversify my investments, hence if I have option, then I will choose both. What does one have to do with the other? These are two ENITRELY different things, and should be viewed as such.  A proper financial portfolio should be one that is diversified.  Real Estate can be good for making passive income, or simply buying a home to live in versus renting can be a way to build equity.  Bitcoin is a digital currency.  It's also inherently NOT an investment.

Both of them are important investment that one needs to diversify to. One of them is easy to start and needs little capital. I'll choose real estate over any altcoin.

But between real estate and BTC, if you have money you can diversify by buying the two of them, there is no reason to buy only one when you can split the money and buy the two of them. For me, i cannot afford real estate right now as it is expensive, but for BTC i can buy little amounts gradually whenever i want to. I love both because they are an asset class so wouldn't like to miss investment in any of the two Assets, If you have made a huge amount of money, real estate is an investment option to store some of your funds for future growth, while Bitcoin is an investment opportunity for everyone, both the rich and the poor, basically its "inclusiveness" is one distinctive thing about Bitcoin that also makes it attractive for investors. Real estate is the real deal in my country, I don't know about other places, but in my country it is the investment that is growing the fastest right now and in a few years it will double the value of your investment. They both have the potential to produce high returns, but for the time being I am all in on cryptocurrencies because I am not financially stable enough to invest in real estate. You mentioned crypto in general, but if you mentioned bitcoin specifically then maybe you would get a different response.
I changed crypto to bitcoin, meaning that it is bitcoin that deserves to be called an asset that is not controlled by any government or authority. Bitcoin and real estate are great to be a store of value for your assets but right now I tend to prefer bitcoin over real estate given the potential.

The volatility of these two store of value assets is different, after all, they are also different. Bitcoin has no physical properties, but has uses, while the real estate you are referring to also has risks that you cannot avoid. It all depends on how you assess the two assets and how your risk tolerance is so that you may disagree with some assumptions and choose to agree with different assumptions.

Both investment can not be overlooked as they are of huge profit when embarked upon. They both need funds to stat with and this should be the major focus for which i expected good responses from. It does not always have to be the choice of one over the other. They are both good investments and is encouraged for anyone who has enough capital to put into both of them to do so. Bitcoin is good, so also is real estate, and if you have enough to put into two of them, you will not regret it.  Investment in bitcoins is good and easier because you can invest any amount you have at hand, unlike real estate where you have to have a good amount of capital before you can invest.

Before you take answers and suggestions posted here literally to mean investment advice, just remember that in both you can make money as well as make losses. For those who think that investment in the real estate sector is a guaranteed profit earner they should've a rethink. I often hear people say land doesn't depreciate but I beg to differ. It's not always the case that one can resale what they've bought higher than they've bought it. Take for instance one buys a piece of land in an area that later got entangled with communal disputes. Well I leave you to paint a picture with your imagination of what the situation will be. For me, I think it will make much sense to invest in both.

I don't think this kind of comparison is fair. Real estate caters to a different type of investor, and so does crypto. If you want instant gratification (relatively cause at the very least in crypto you get faster turnups to your profit) you go for crypto. If you want to get paid in dividends and consistently you can choose real estate. besides, you can also choose both these ventures at the same time and I would actually recommend investing in both these ventures, diversify your assets basically.

A big point about crypto vs real estate to me is about accessibility of it to people that have various funds at their disposal. A person can experiment with cryptos even with a very limited amount of money. Lol, are you for real? After writing all this the best you can do is to ask us to choose between crypto and real estate? Well, both of them are good investment opportunities but they are not the same and shouldn't be compared together. Can you invest $50 in real estate? I bet you can't because the amount is really small and laughable, but you could invest same amount or less in cryptocurrency and make quite a fortune with it.

Lol, are you for real? After writing all this the best you can do is to ask us to choose between crypto and real estate? Well, both of them are good investment opportunities but they are not the same and shouldn't be compared together. Can you invest $50 in real estate? I bet you can't because the amount is really small and laughable, but you could invest same amount or less in cryptocurrency and make quite a fortune with it.

My first choice will be to own my house because it is currently a need. The cost of paying rent affects my finances, so having a house will reduce the financial burden of rent. I have always felt that crypto gives everyone a level playing field. It is a leveler. The upper middle and lower class can all invest in crypto currency with as little money as they  have and profit from it through proper planning. I reckon we cannot say the same of real estate.

I know people who have a lot of cryptocurrency, but they have never declared their cryptocurrency income. Buying real estate in many countries is closed to such people, and buying real estate in the Emirates at inflated prices would be a bad investment. If you do have the money and budget then why not have both? The more the better as we do all know and make out diversification when it comes to investment is always that recommended.

Having multiple source of income stream would be always ideal.We know that real estate business or venture is never been cheap but once you do have able to acquire one then you do know that it could really be something an asset which would generate out income or something a value that appreciates but of course it would really be that depending on the property that you had bought which we know that not all would really be ending up that good and thats one of the risks when it comes to real estate business but most of the time it would really be that something good to have.

Diversified investment is always good than going all in one. My suggestion will be to go 70% on cryptocurrency and 30% on real estate. The value of property used to increase with time depending on the demand and the location. However the same have got the risk of decline in value of the property if there is no development happening around the region. With cryptocurrency things weren't the same, the demand is high and the growth is assured if you've got the ability to hold. For this reason my choice is majority capital into cryptocurrency than real estate.

I think you are just evading taxes for your Crypto gain  (j/k).  Cryptocurrency and Real estate are two different entity so their taxation have different approach.  Real estate being a taxable tangible asset is subject to taxation  by the government  while Cryptocurrency being an intangible asset is only subject to taxation when there is a capital gain.

Anyway, I also prefer cryptocurrency because of the sole reason of having a low entry point, and higher chance of gaining profit due to its current status of being in early stages.  Aside from that due to the same reason @coolcoinz stated, holding it is not taxable until we sell it at the higher price. While real estate is subject to annual tax even, reason why some think of it as a liability than asset when left idle for years.

Interesting question. Usually real estate in the long run brings very good profits, and if you own multiple places you can also get a steady income which is almost passive, I say almost because anyway there is maintenance involved unless you get someone who will do all the work from you. But you also need a good amount of money to start investing in real estate, it's not something that every person can do.

On the other hand cryptos require way less money to start, the amount of people who became millionaires thanks to bitcoins that purchased for a few bucks is insane, but cryptos bring way more risks because of volatility.

I agree with you High capital required to start a real estate business It is estimated that at least $40k-50k is required to start a small real estate business. But it depends on the location. Compare it to crypto where it's price can double or triple in just a single year. Of course this isn't consistent, and we might see both assets go down in price as well.

Real estate have many disadvantages e.g. not liquid, the land or the building can be owned by a gangster, natural disaster etc.

Most of cryptocurrency aren't decentralized, only few coins are decentralized e.g. Bitcoin. I think you are just evading taxes for your Crypto gain  (j/k).  Cryptocurrency and Real estate are two different entity so their taxation have different approach.  Real estate being a taxable tangible asset is subject to taxation  by the government  while Cryptocurrency being an intangible asset is only subject to taxation when there is a capital gain.

Anyway, I also prefer cryptocurrency because of the sole reason of having a low entry point, and higher chance of gaining profit due to its current status of being in early stages.  Aside from that due to the same reason @coolcoinz stated, holding it is not taxable until we sell it at the higher price. While real estate is subject to annual tax even, reason why some think of it as a liability than asset when left idle for years.

Why don't you invest all the money back into buying Bitcoin when the bearish market come instead of buying Real estate that'll be too expensive and your little money won't give you more units to sell to make profits but when you invest all that money into buying Bitcoin, it'll give you a larger amount and increase the profits that you'll be making when you sell it during the bull market. There's a lot of profits that can be made from investing in Bitcoin.

Maybe all of us here in the forum wish to have the same That's why not everyone has the ability to get that right away,  maybe others here are still saving up despite the many expenses in our daily lives. Yes, in the end real estate has quite a big advantage when we have truly strategic real estate. However, it also requires quite a lot of time and money. Both of these investments have their respective advantages and disadvantages. however, I have to admit that my goal in crypto is to increase the amount of money and income I have, and after that my ultimate goal is real estate. That's actually true, two are good investment, it would only differ to your preferences plus your funds. From acquiring a piece of real estate, I think that amount of money could be lessen or reduced, cause in my case, I used monthly payment so I could still own a piece of real estate like payment for 2 years, then I just simply opened it for apartment for rent, so the money I could get from that, would be the payment for the monthly for the real estate, of course there would be an interest but it could be covered by the rent. Still I do alternative investment like crypto plus having a work cause there might be a case that the people wouldn't pay the rent and would just leave, of course it's illegal but once they are gone, you'll be the one who's paying the monthly for the real estate. Life is hard so I understand some of people who just bypass the rent due then would run.

To be fair, bitcoin and real estate are both good investments and we could invest in both if we were rich. But the majority here will choose bitcoin, simply not because we don't like real estate, the only reason is that not too many people have enough money to invest in it. But meanwhile with bitcoin, we can start with the smallest amount of money we have.
