Why did it take you so long to apply for a ban appeal? The account that you requested to have unbanned was last posted on April 9, 2015, and you changed the password of the account on January 18, 2019.

According to . Bpip and this account you are using to apply for an appeal has been active since 2019, which means you have been aware that this account has been banned for a long time now, so why request an appeal today? Why did it happen all this time? I was just asking out of curiosity

The account has never posted any bitcoin address whatsoever, so looks like OP might find it had to prove that it is his. One similarity though is that it used to post in the french board just like OP's account

1. Temporarily ban
2. Account lock due to the 2015 mass account hacking?
3. Account lock due to an attempt to recover account via secret question?

It certainly isn't a permanent ban.

You guys are incredibly responsive. I might try to sign a transaction with the key that allowed me to donate 5 BTC to Bitcointalk. But that goes way back. It doesn't seem simple to me!

During that time, I talked a lot about Ripple, and XRP wasn't well-received on Bitcointalk. I irritated some people and ended up "trolling," which resulted in a ban. This must have been around 2013 or 2014.

I tried several times (in 2014, 2018, and 2022, i have many mp's with différents moderators, i can post it) to recover this account by questioning the moderators of the French section. It was only tonight that n email "locked_2019_vuhnu" asked me to create this kind of thread in this section. What I am finally doing... I know, it's late!

If you can sign a Bitcoin message from the Bitcoin address you donated 5 BTC to the forum, it is good proof for your account recovery. Forum admins can ask you more questions to verify you are real owner of the Donator account or just a new owner (hacker or who bought that account).

I don't know if your account will really be unbanned. But before going to the step of unbanning the account you should first prove the ownership of the account. Ownership of your account can be proven by signing messages to the Bitcoin address from the Bitcoin wallet you donated to this forum. Secondly, you can explain the reason why your account was banned and if your reason is not valid, you can explain it here as proof.  In this case maybe the Bitcointalk authorities can consider it and you can get a chance to be unbanned because you donated to this forum. Try to get noticed by mprep and Theymos

It seems to be something that used to happen in the early years of the forum and hasn't happened for years.

But on the other hand, am I the only one who sees a confession of ban evading in this thread?

If the OP was banned he was only allowed to create an account to exclusively appeal the ban, not to create this one, be using it on the forum normally for many years and now show up here saying he wants to get the banned account back.

I didn't see the banned status on BPIP, I thought it was just a temporary ban. Can you share a screenshot of the ban message on your donator account?
To emphasize the rules, you are not allowed to post outside the meta board with alt-accounts as long as one of them is banned.

Given today's standards, its hard to believe the account was banned for trolling, but if memory serves I did receive a temp ban for such a thing once in 2014. For reference, user proudhon has been trolling the WO thread for the better part of a decade

You might also see if you still have access to your old Ripple addresses; signing a message with one of those would work equally well. Seems like you used this one a few times:

if your account is banned or locked shouldn't there be a message showing an email where you can appeal your ban or start the recovery of your account if it is locked? what does it message show when you open your account?

game-protect wasn't banned because of plagiarism, he kept posting until March 2020. I saw a post from suchmoon(quoted below) saying that game-protect spammed the same post on different gambling threads before he was banned, so I think he was banned for spamming, doxing and trolling probably had put some weight on the decision for his ban.

The OP has been permabanned. He was trying hard to earn that ban - posted about 10 of these messages yesterday in random gambling threads. Not sure if that did it but with two prior temp bans it was about time.

It was 10 BTC, right?

Assuming you still have your wallet, it's easy to sign.

You should never delete a wallet.

Or this. If you don't know how much you donated, and can't sign a message, maybe the account wasn't yours in the first place.

It's never too late, but your priority would be to persuade the admins/GMs to unban your account after all this time. Why do you want this account back ? How would this account benefit the bitcointalk community ?

There was no time in the forum when someone will have gotten banned for talking bad about Bitcoin and hyping up altcoins as long as you kept the conversation constructive. There is a whole section for altcoins with different boards where one can discuss freely about them.

An account will not be unbanned caused it's a donator account without any reason to overturn the ban.

Maybe it was just a temp ban. You're unlikely to get permabanned for trolling unless you've had multiple warnings and bans and still won't stop.

Edit. It seems there is actually two bans on the account. The other is for "Alt currencies content outside of Alt currencies board" which doesn't have an expiration date. Maybe one was forgotten to be put in because that also is unlikely to get you a permaban unless you're a serial repeat offender. Either way, op is going to have to sign a message if he wants the account unlocking.

You're right but if someone trolls about Bitcoin every time then such trolls may not be acceptable in a forum that's mostly about Bitcoin. The worst thing is that when such people with less knowledge about Bitcoin try to demote or defame it in order to promote those shit-coins that are nothing when compared to Bitcoin. I guess the @OP was also aware of his actions and that's why he said there was trolling going on his account in those days. Although, this forum is the best place where you can have freedom of speech but still everything has some limits and when someone crosses those limits then he/she will have to bear the consequences.

I think OP already has access to that account and he doesn't need any kind of account recovery at all. The account is in his own possession but it's banned or locked and that's why OP has posted this ban appeal thread. He won't get unbanned or unlocked for some reasons but if he can prove that he is the owner of the account then he may get his account unbanned or unlocked. But, still we will have to find the reason of his ban and if he was banned for another thing other than trolling then his chances of getting unbanned are pretty low.

Thank you. I was wrong partially but GameProtect was a target of many members before that ban. Many questions from community why the user was not banned after all of his circus around. Finally, he made a mistake and was banned (I missed the last reason for his ban).

One member was banned for doxing is humanrightsfoundation, this case is surely correct recalled. That thread is still better from the one leads to his ban, doxing theymos directly.
