This morning, I was replying to a topic in the Beginners & Help section, and I wanted to write that Bitcointalk is a reliable source for anything. If you ask anything about Bitcoin and crypto technology, you will likely get the most reliable/valuable/accurate answer compared to most of the internet. Then I asked myself, but why? How does it make a difference?
The answer I got from myself is;
Tech Geeks BitcoinTalk has some tech geeks who exclusively write their posts to help people in every other way. Of course, Bitcointalk also has average users like me. Since this forum is one of the oldest on the internet, thousands of articles were written almost decades ago, and tech geeks are still writing informative articles, hoping that someone will get help from them. It's nice to feel that one day, Satoshi was part of this forum, and his posts are still there. Imagine you can say to your grandkids that you have seen many posts from Satoshi in the early days of Bitcoin (I still consider it as early days.
Why are you unlikely to be publicly scammed? I consider Bitcointalk as one of the safest forums on the internet. The internet is full of scammers, and Bitcointalk is not without scammers. There are scammers, but you are unlikely to get scammed if you talk in public. Remember, scams are not moderated in this forum. Bitcointalk members are unlikely to scam a random person publicly because others will immediately try to save you from fraud (if they notice).
Why it's reliable? One of the reasons is reputation. Bitcointalk has designed the reputation system very well. The users build their reputation over time by helping others, writing helpful topics/posts, and trading with others. So, if you see a member with a couple of +green feedback under their name, you can trust them (Not all of them). Always check their Trust page before you deal with anyone. Bitcointalk users want to build up their reputation in every possible way. So, most of their intention to help is genuine. Which is why the source they provide is most likely reliable. Yet I suggest you check before you click on anything.
That's what I had in my mind. Feel free to add why you think Bitcointalk is a reliable source!

You are making things up extremely man. Bitcointalk is a great forum with many Bitcoin developers and technical experts but in this forum, there are newbies, spammers, shitposters and trollers too. Everyone who visit as a guest or use this forum as a member must verify information they read. They can not assume and believe all information they read here is reliable and correct.

You say that bitcointalk is a trusted forum for anything, I disagree. However, if you say that bitcointalk is a trusted forum for bitcoin and cryptocurrency, I agree. In my opinion, all sites or forums have their own advantages and disadvantages. This also applies to the bitcointalk forum, that discussions about economics and politics here are only supplementary boards and most of those discussing there are not experts. The discussion is often just a brief analysis without clear references. Or worse, many of the answers are repetitive. There are many sites out there that discuss economics and politics comprehensively and are written by experts But when it comes to bitcoin, this forum is definitely the best

Indeed, this has merits. It was formed in the same year as Bitcoin. This platform is trustworthy because it brought together early Bitcoin enthusiasts and developers, contributing to the credibility of the preserved quality and accurate information shared here. Experts are also present, with extensive experience and knowledge, including miners, researchers, economists, and business professionals. All different aspects of the crypto ecosystem and technology are covered here, making it a valuable learning resource for beginners. You are ready to be corrected for any errors and misinformation encountered.

Not sure if "reliable" is the right word for this. You still see inaccurate information from time to time especially from those with bad activity:merit ratios. What's great is just the fact that if someone would provide inaccurate information, someone could immediately correct said inaccurate information.

Yeah you are right because we can't say is reliable 100 percent lots of people got scammed, where we can say is reliable is when a user carefully make reach before deal with anyone (Reliable can be term as financial deal) otherwise here is reliable to get information but not a deal that involves money as anyone can acts as a reliable users and yet scam someone and made away with their money. The thing is its left for everyone or every user to filter their information by themselves to see if they are true or not, just as post are being evaluated from many people since what i could see as quality contents might not be quality for another user.

I guess this is your first forum, I mean you're not quite active or spend more time to explore on the other forums e.g. reddit, quora, etc. The reason why many users aren't a scammer is they risking something which is signature campaign, if the forum has no signature campaign, I expect it's nothing different with other forums. tech geeks are still writing informative articles, hoping that someone will get help from them.
This has no correlation with reliable source because in any forums there's always someone who expert in something and willing to give their knowledge to other people. I consider Bitcointalk as one of the safest forums on the internet. The internet is full of scammers, and Bitcointalk is not without scammers. There are scammers, but you are unlikely to get scammed if you talk in public. Agree neither not agree, of course if you trade with a high ranked user, the chance you will be scammed is zero as long as the user can sign message and the amount you trade isn't really high e.g. lower than $1,000. Remember, a project that could be trusted and was having active signature campaign can turn scam e.g. Betnomi, no one can verify rug pull/exit scam project. Bitcointalk users want to build up their reputation in every possible way. So, most of their intention to help is genuine.
Hmm?

I see and understand what you mean, I think you just went too meta for people. Your 3 points summarized into 10 words: - BitcoinTalk is legendary. - BitcoinTalk is open. - BItcoinTalk is well governed. Bitcointalk users want to build up their reputation in every possible way. So, most of their intention to help is genuine.
Hmm? I think the right way to interpret what Learn Bitcoin is saying, is that there is an incentive to be genuine. The incentive being, your reputation is recognized by other members. Kind of working more like the concept of karma than anything else.

You can trust those members with green trust, but before you can have 100% trust in them if you want to have a deal with any of them in a trade, you have to make sure that they are the original owner in a way that you can be certain that you are dealing with the real person. This can be done either by proving that they are the original owner of the account with singing of message with their staked bitcoin address or PGP key encryption if they have PGP public key.

Bitcointalk is very unique compared to other places you can learn about bitcoin. Why I prefer here to google because Google gives a kind of dynamic answer to questions, whereby if you aren't satisfied by the answer, you will have to make another search. This is unlike BTT where a wrong information can be immediately refuted as the conversation progresses.
Your statement seems bogus. There is no way you will consider a forum where scam is not moderated as the safest forum. Bitcointalk has no credit in terms of scam curtailment or moderation. The admin is not even interested, so let's not give BTT such credit.

Bitcointalk is a great forum with many Bitcoin developers and technical experts but in this forum, there are newbies, spammers, shitposters and trollers too. Everyone who visit as a guest or use this forum as a member must verify information they read. The Bitcointalk forum and every platform have newbies, spammers and shitposters. Now, I want to say that if you compare Bitcointalk with other available platforms, surely Bitcointalk is more reliable. On most platforms, someone posts and leaves. They rarely come back and follow their previous comment. Not sure if "reliable" is the right word for this. You still see inaccurate information from time to time especially from those with bad activity:merit ratios. What's great is just the fact that if someone would provide inaccurate information, someone could immediately correct said inaccurate information.
Even if the "reliable" word is not a good choice, I guess you understand what I mean. Everyone loves to earn merits no matter what their rank is. So, even if a newbie makes a reply, I believe they try their best to help others. This is the only way to earn merits. I believe the merits and the DT network affects the reputation system, which is why most peoples want to earn them. If you want to earn them, you must contribute positively. If you see inaccurate information, that is not intentional.

No doubt that the forum has the best resource if you have any doubts about Bitcoin. I have found almost everything here when I have any doubt if I am not able to search for the answer to my query I have to get help from fellow forum members. To an extent, it is far more easy to use the forum than Google to find an answer here. There are good tutorials that are very well explained, but they do not promote any product or have referral links. My concern is that those tutorials have images that are not showing up due to the Imgur issue, if and only if those images can again be activated then it would be helpful. Some tutorials are not updated, if the creator of those tutorials can update them according to the current situation then it would be great.

Surely there are some tech geeks on the forum who write the posts to help other people who visit this forum and sometimes the average users also write posts which can be valuable for others. Well, Satoshi was part of this forum and he/she/they may still be part of this forum but in a anonymous way but still in the early days he/she/they was active as a user of the forum and was helping to fix the issues of Bitcoin in those days.
Yeah, the Bitcointalk forum is a good place for everyone who want to make deals with the members of the forum, but I must say that if someone really wants to avoid being scammed then he/she has to deal with reputed members only. The newbies and low-rank members of the forum can't be trusted and some of them can be scammers who may steal your money and may not deliver what they have promised. I would again say that the members should always keep in mind that no forum on the internet is free from scammers and people with scamming mentality are everywhere. None of the scams take place publicly and a scammer always try to scam others via private messages or via Telegram.
The reputation system of the forum is in good state but we still can't consider it as a perfect soliton. I have seen members with many green trust ratings who were later involved in scams while on the other hand there are members without any trust rating but still they haven't done any kind of scam activity so far. Although, everyone trust those members who have positive ratings and actually most of them can be trusted without much thinking, but sometimes the members with no-trust ratings can also provide valuable information for the readers of the forum. I firmly believe that the users with green trust ratings will always try their best to protect their reputation and they can be trusted.

It should be one of the reliable sources for anything Bitcoin because the one who created Bitcoin and his colleagues are the ones who founded Bitcointalk, the ecosystem was built to debate what's right and what is acceptable for the community.
Compared to other platforms that discuss Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency, the information comes from the opinion of one individual which is why it's prone to error. Here in Bitcointalk, there's a continuous exchange of thoughts for the truth and reliable information to come out.

Indeed, I also had many thoughts on this topic before, and whenever asked by a person about BTC who knew nothing about BTC and the crypto world. I simply think that what if this person spends only 1 month on this forum actively and takes part in as much discussion as he can? Because before making a reply on some topic, a person thinks 2 times, because he knows, his reply will be read and judged by others.
And in that process, that person makes an effort, does research, and learns a lot of things. In short, instant and valuable replies and corrections, suggestions on your topics, and replies, will motivate you or force you to do better next time and you as an OP will try to come up with better content and with better replies. Which will help others (newbies and Pros).
besides, all that, I can not agree more with you, this forum really have legends and experts of different IT sectors who value the content because of the education they have.

I would love to know if there is any other Bitcoin related forum where can spend more useful time than here. Because in my knowledge there is none. You did make a valid point, and to be honest I had no idea about these members and how they scammed the users, but you said they scammed for $200 but after checking the case of yogg he scammed more than that, I check the thread where a member opened a case of cards that got claimed and he lost money and many other also lost there assets. Which is very sad and I am quite shocked to see how legendaries member could do such things. And you have said well about a member who is not earning anything and is legendary too then he will try to scam others using his reputation. But I think they should not do things for $200 hehe. Just kidding.

Exactly, I had found most of the positive and the information which are to the point in about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in bitcoinTalk, which help me a lot from previous some years. Another best thing we can also taking part in different discussion about the cryptocurrency, and help each other in different problems, someone is facing in exchanges or some people are facing problems in areas we have information. This has help me a lot. And also we can engage ourselves in the discussions only made for the Bitcoin, named as Bitcoin Discussion. I didn't see some scammer that they had scammed in a forum mentioned by the owner of the post. Still I will search for it and if any , will share here.

This morning, I was replying to a topic in the Beginners & Help section, and I wanted to write that Bitcointalk is a reliable source for anything. If you ask anything about Bitcoin and crypto technology, you will likely get the most reliable/valuable/accurate answer compared to most of the internet.
This forum is always providing us with legit information and answers to most problems we ask. This is because when you ask a question, some users will give you the exact answer, while others will go the extra length to explain further for easy understanding, and when some users give a wrong or incomplete response, other users will make clarifications to make it easy and clear for the person who asks the question.
Particularly when it comes to the technical parts of bitcoin, there are some common users and some experts who always supply the appropriate knowledge at the right time. Because of this, I go to discussion boards, Bitcoin Technical Support, and anything else related to wallets and transactions when I need the appropriate knowledge.
When it comes to scams, the Bitcointalk forum is the safest place to get reliable information, and you have a chance of not getting scammed with most of the information you get here.

You say that bitcointalk is a trusted forum for anything, I disagree. However, if you say that bitcointalk is a trusted forum for bitcoin and cryptocurrency, I agree. Bitcointalk is where many people joining discussions, teach others of what they have know or learned and others asking questions or you can say anything because there's also baking contest, art contest. I hate when a forum member scamming people of their funds and I would also say that Bitcointalk is kind of like what Learn Bitcoin said. Well, Bitcointalk is a trusted forum for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency related but there's also gambling although you may say that it is crypto related since gamblers use crypto to bet.
