Difficulty in writing language start from right side

We generally write Roman urdu in our local board where we used English alphabet but sometimes we write in our real language which start from right side. I faced so much difficulty write Urdu language and wasted more then hours just for correcting error.

Is there any extension or tool where we able to use urdu language easily. I doesn't see default forum post style friendly with Urdu keyboard. I request to add start from right side option to make it easy for us. I am using android phone and checked in laptop also but results is same in both place.

You need to install LTR (Left To Right) extension, for chrome I found this one, I'm not recommended it because I have no experience using this extension and I'm one of user who don't like to install any extension due to security reason.

But the bad thing is, if you view the post in global board, it's become in left to right format too.

I don't know about any extension or things like that, but I can share my idea to write urdu with low efforts.

Step 1. Search on google for "urdu notepad online",
Step 2: Write what you want to write from right side, copy it and paste it on the forum like this:

Anyway I will suggest use online BBCode editor for example I have used https://www.sceditor.com/ many times.

Not only for writing Urdu but when you are dealing with large tables or lots of quotes. It helps you to generate normal text in WSIWYG style and at the end get the code by clicking "< >" button on the top right and paste your code in the reply.



Some time you need to adjust some specific bitcointalk related codes but those are rare and applies in special cases only.

Yeah cafter but if you have have Urdu keyboard installed on mobile or pc then you don't Urdu editor. But if Urdu keyboard not installed or you don't want to install then yes you can use Urdu keyboard online for example

But this will make your life slow so it's better to have Urdu keyboard installed on your device.

I think this works, for reading the post after it is created. But the OP's problem is that when he is writing the post, he will always write from left to right.

It can be frustrating for those who write in Urdu or Arabic, as we all know these languages start from right to left. I don't exactly remember where, but I recently saw a thread where it said the subject titles of bitcointalks were also misplaced in Arabic. If I recall correctly, you were there too.

It would be much help if the administrators patched this problem. Like when I'm writing in a certain language, the forum should adapt itself to that writing style.

Many social media sites and forums have this kind of feature. If your account name is in Arabic, your writing will automatically go from right to left.

Just in case, I'm summoning another friend: maybe @Kavelj22 can help too. He has experience translating texts from English (left to right) into Arabic (right to left) so he may know the most convenient way to do it, if you have problem to choose between different available methods.

Just like English A,B,C is written on left, Urdu writing starts from right side. Hope it helps 

Right align is the easiest way to write Urdu from right side.

Yes, bro, you made a good decision to raise a crucial and important issue in front of people. This problem is very common for Pakistani local threads. Because when we try to write in our native Urdu language, firstly, writing starts from the left side, due to which the sentence is fragmented, which presents a big hurdle in correcting it. So I also have this opinion that there should be an option in the reply for this problem through which we can change the writing stance from right to left, so that will make it easy to write a post or quote for Urdu writers. So far, only a few respected members have reviewed it, but no tangible justification has been found to solve this problem.

Apart from this, my dear OP, if you had added one more thing to discuss this problem, we would have got a little guidance, or these staff members would have considered our problem. The problem is that there are word limits for writing Urdu in our local thread, due to which we cannot write the whole post once. Our member had also opened a thread on this topic(words limitations?), but no response was received from the staff. So the purpose of saying this is that the forum moderators will be very kind to find a way for us to solve this problem or make a local board for us in which we do not have to face these difficulties. Apart from this, you can also see the performance of our thread, which is much better.

Moreover, if the staff helps us get a new independent board for Pakistan where our opinion will be taken as a serious. Our respectful senior shahzadafzal made a huge effort for our local board, but all in vain because theymos hasn't given a single piece of attention to us. So kindly put some sight on our case for the local board and make it as soon as possible.

This used to happen in comments of instagram but they managed to fix it. I don't know if this ancient SMF can support such changes, but let us wait for our beloved forum swiss knife @PowerGlove, as if he has any obligation to try and fix everything around here.😅

I have issue in numbers and also when I use any English words with urdu then Its change whole structure of sentence. One can see below screenshot, which problem I am talking about and if you have any third party solution then I will try and also I will request moderator to bring this feature for us.

I had installed this extension on my Laptop, but it is not working as enough. Unfortunately, I'm not even understanding it. No other options are showing instead of LTR-RTL and it doesn't even work.



Whenever I click on the LTR-RTL button at the upper side of the extension, it is not even working and it redirects me to the extension page which is shown in the picture above.

For this, there should be used MS Word, we can try in the MS word in which we can have many many more languages, in which we can select a language of our own and should try whether we can able to do it. MS Word should be the latest one as the previous one didn't have that many functions through which we could do our work. Do you need it just for numbering or do you need it for the whole sentences?

And then using that (with a tiny bit of JS on the onclick attribute) to toggle between inline styles on the <textarea> element (I think toggling between style="" and style="direction: rtl;" would probably do it).

I sent theymos a PM to check if he'd merge something like this: if he's agreeable, then I'll put together a proper patch.

Thank you PowerGlove definitely that should work. I just want to highlight that style="direction: rtl;" will work while writing and it will make it easy to write in Urdu/Arbaic as text will be RTL. But when post is posted and if it's without [ right ]  [ /right ] tags then the text will still not be readable as it will be show LTR by default.

So in addition to direction style tag for composing a post, a Right Align BBCode must be added to make the post RTL readable.

To really solve the issue either RGHT ALIGN BBCode need to be added in the post or Urdu/Arabic posts must be shown RTL by default, which I'm sure wont be a small task to patch.

Sorry HONDACD125 trust me this issue of mix Number + Urdu/Arabic text is not alone to bitcointalk. You will face this issue everywhere e.g. Microsoft Word, Facebook comments or any where where English language is default ltr, I have seen this issue on twitter too.

I will suggest when you are writing Urdu you have to type the numbers also in Urdu/Arabic,for example instead of 1, 2, 3, 4 5... you should write Urdu/Arabic numerals ۱ ۲ ۳ ۴ ۵...

I know it's difficult to write/understand numbers in local language but for now you have live with and avoid mixing English Urdu text.

Perhaps the "RTL" function, when clicked, automatically adds the BBCode [ right ][ /right ] in the text box.
