This happened because that person showed his bitcoin holdings to many of his relatives and news spread among them that he has lot of money invested in crypto. Though, finally funds were recovered from that guy but he could have even lost his life in the whole scenario. Thus, you should be careful with disclosing about your bitcoin holdings to everyone.

For everyone to be safe, just keep privately whatever asset or achievement you have.  You don't need to let the world know what's happening to you or how far your achievements have gone. That will only trigger some negative feeling towards other people or even your relatives once they have discovered that you're richer than them or you're keeping wealth that they don't expect.
