By playing first Colombo Kaps team scored 189 runs and lost 8 wickets. They gave a good total for chasing. But they could increase these runs if some areas they showed responsible performance. The middle order players could not show responsible performance and lost back to back wickets. So if they contributed well then they could increase 200 plus. Now the stage was facing this total against the opponent team with bowling. But unfortunately they were unsuccessful in defeating the opponent team.
On the other hand Galle Gallants team showed outstanding performance and they played sensible inning. In starting they had built great partnership where they took good advantage and released the pressure from down players. So they faced this total with bravery and won the match in 19.2 overs.

The first team set a target of 164 run. Their team had a very good start which we can call the top order. But still their team would have won this match by just one run. Yes one run. The second team had almost achieved their target. If you look at it, all the players of the first team were out in 19 and four balls. There were still two balls left. The Washington Freedom team had dismissed all the players of the first team. But when they themselves achieved their target, they could only score 163 runs and nine of their players were out, but the overs were over, due to which they had to face defeat in this final match by just one run.

3 runs were needed from the last ball that was bowled by Shadley van Schalkwyk, but Lahiru Milantha and Lockie Ferguson could manage only 1 run. That said, I would rather blame Ferguson. He hit a boundary of the 4th ball of the last over, but then took a single and gave strike to Milantha. The latter was in horrible form with the bat, and was not looking good out there at the crease. BTW, Shadley was almost getting unplayable. Before Ferguson came to the crease, he had taken the wickets of Obus Pienaar and Ian Holland in successive deliveries.

So far based on some news, the strongest team for this season is expected to be Kandy Royals after Jaffna Kings. Kandy Royals have big names and overseas players, such as Moeen Ali and Brandon McMullen, while Kusal Perera is also here. That's why today will be their exam day, let's see how they impress us.

Washington Freedom loss the game by the margin of just 1 number. It was totally disappointing day for them. Despite putting all efforts, the results was not on declared in their favour. Knight Riders played first and posted target of 164 for the Washington Freedom. For chasing the target they put all efforts, especially Andries Gous and Obus Pienaar they were standout players. Bowlers Knight Riders did their task in an  outstanding way. They build pressure by collecting their wickets. Once at the final overs situation becomes so tensed on both sides. But Knight Riders snatched the victory from the jaws of the Washington Freedom. No doubt it was a game that kept the audience on their seats till the last ball.

Today both men and women Hundred ball competitions has been started and opening matches on both sides completed with thrilling finishes. In the men competition, MI London emerged victorious while Sunrisers Leeds claimed win in women competition. In Men side MI London against Sunrisers Leeds squad, Sunrisers Leeds squad was started first match first with batting and their batters were managed to collect 143 scores off 100 deliveries. Richard Gleeson bowler performance was quite supportive and played key role in first victory and cleared out 4 significant wickets. With 7 wickets and 16 deliveries, MI London squad succeeded to defeat Sunrisers Leeds squad. Batters Nicholas Pooran and Sam Curran built long batting partnership and played wonderful batting inning and collected 60 and 58 scores respectively.
