You are really trolling today.

If you are talking about this forum, there will be no KYC.

Even those social media do not require KYC, not to talk of forums.

I believe half of every active member on the forum for the last few hours has come across it. It's not just a random topic that most people will ignore; it's from the administration, and everyone will want to see what's new.

KYC is being introduced in the forum—are you kidding me? Well, it's obvious many people might have been taught to run through their heads, but then again, many people already saw what happened today. It's a peaceful move to keep the community as free as it could be from any governmental attack, and we know the government doesn't need any reason to come after anything when they feel like they will also have a reason or they will create one.

Enabling KYC in the forum will be a little way more difficult. Whoever wants to pass KYC for using a forum, no one will want to do that, and aside from the fact that there is no direct financial dealing with the forum and its users, it's always third-party companies that bring in deals, and the forum has no direct involvement, so there will be no need for such.

The question others have is: how long until non-KYC projects are stopped from operating here?

Anonymity is what we always preach, not even social medias requires KYC except you have anything to do with monetization that will require such.

I have seen a very few people talk of KYC in the forum and I do really know why it's important to them including you.

But will surely say that it's not necessary except you have a plan of becoming the government which everyone is here pissed of.

Many exchanges also promised that they will never introduce a KYC. As a result, under a pressure from regulators, they introduced a KYC

By the way, there is a section at the forum where users exchanging cryptocurrency with each other. And this is already subject to regulation

Can Thermos promise to all of us all right now that he is not under a pressure?

KYCs? On a Bitcoin forum?? I didn't get your question. Are you tryna troll today with the said post or you truly know what you said? Cus what's the sole purpose of Bitcoin creation if I may ask? National/political
induction or enforcement?

look, you'd be called a clown for not knowing that anonymity is a sole prospect of freedom.. and that BITCOIN= FREEDOM? I done explaining this to you cus it ain't happening next time..

Even those social media do not require KYC, not to talk of forums.

Most social media sites nowadays require mobile numbers for 2FA, and often, your mobile number alone is enough for KYC.

Wait, there is even no option for two factor authenticator apps?  Roll Eyes What kind of shitty social media site is that that doesn't even bother changing with the times (Forget about our forum, *no pun intended  Grin)?

We even failed to migrate to the new forum software that cost a lot of Bitcoins to develop, and it is now almost a decade since they first started working on it, and here you are talking about KYC introduction? Fuck off!

Because bitcointalk is a discussion forum there is no need for KYC in it. Even though there is a marketplace board, it is only an additional board, in fact this forum is a discussion forum so there is no requirement for KYC for discussion forums

The signature campaign is another part of the forum and is not managed by the forum, so if the signature campaign is deemed dangerous then it is better for the signature campaign to be removed than to require KYC.

The ban on mixers finally proved that the forum is centralized. And as the authorities order the admin, so it will be

Unlicensed cryptocurrency trading is carried out on the forum. This is already a reason to introduce the KYC procedure

The forum is registered in the USA and must comply with US laws and cooperate with FATF and AML enforcement agencies

KYC used to be deployed in 2019. KYC now required.

Mitchell is a very long lasting KYCed member. He still holds the KYC card today.

You are so annoying!

Perhaps you should be a man enough to use your real account other than using your alt to behave as though you care but technically mocking theymos.

People like you never cared about the forum, even the world at large, all you care about and want is to be hidden and do everything possible (evil) in the dark untraceable. I noticed you yesterday, people like you who can't even understand a simple reason why theymos is protective of the forum should just excuse the forum, it's not compulsory for you to partake anymore.

He made himself clear that his action was to protect the forum and the users for obvious reasons (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5476162.msg63252122#msg63252122). What is hard to understand in that?

You realize if that ever happens you and your lover can't join this forum anymore? Why?, because we will put you in jail for impersonation, forgery and fraud. So next time you want to suggest something, make sure it's in your favour. Like asking people to buy a scam etc.

The ban on mixers finally proved that the forum is centralized
Let's not mistake Bitcoin (BTC) for the forum(BCT) Tongue FYI BCT being centralized has been a known fact!

Btw BCT being centralized doesn't have a reason to have KYC as this is a platform to share ideas and talk about everything crypto, but should we have it...perhaps certain sections of the forum might have it where financial transactions, currency exchange etc happen but it could have a negative impact on the forum as many users
could leave which is a reason I see it not coming here!

KYC used to be deployed in 2019. KYC now required.

Mitchell is a very long lasting KYCed member. He still holds the KYC card today.

Think I got my KYC card back in 2015 (when my username was still Mitchełł). I've had it for a very long time (just updated it to reflect the username change). Grin
