You know, this is the spirit I don't want to have in me when it comes to gambling, the feeling of I could have won even more, that's a very bad feeling, because you believe that you know what the end result will be like but the truth is you know nothing, you won't say this if you lost the game, I think you will be able to take another shot in gambling when your friend finally pays you back but do not put the blame of winning more on your friend because he doesn't pay back in time.
What humans can't beat is time, it's impossible to know how your next morning is going to look or feel like, you don't even know if this night is your last, so why adding what if into gambling when it's all about luck? Not sure if I fully understand the issue here, you gave your friend 10 USD for him to gamble with and he would return the money ASAP? But how can he return the money ASAP if he losses in gambling? He either has his own money to repay you, but why loaning out the money from you in the first place then, or he doesn't have any money at all and after losing his gamble he will be broke. It would be always a bit cautious if a friend wants money for gambling and still wants to repay me quickly. And then you wanted to use the same 10 USD for your own gambling? But why give it to your friend then, you should have gambled yourself first and only give your friend some money after you played. Also, relying on a bet with 50x multiplier doesn't seem so realistic to be winable in many cases. I would say you got lucky here and should be happy about your win. In the end you end with the 50 USD profits + the 10 USD from your friend. You can place many more bets with your bankroll now and keep growing your balance.

If examined and seen from the other side it seems to be true as you said, his friend took / borrowed the money in order to prevent OP from losing his money on the gambling he was going to do, we are leading to a positive mindset and it seems to make sense. All wins in gambling are nothing more than coincidence and that's true, and the OP's friend seems to have a suspicion that the final result will be disappointing, so he prefers to borrow the money as a precaution so that the OP does not lose. if i were you, maybe i would also feel the same thing, i would definitely be annoyed and angry with that person, because he didn't keep his promise and in the end i staked less money than i should have and won a little. if he can keep his promise by paying on time maybe you will win 500 usd more and that is a lot of money.

It is pretty much what happens to traders in exchanges when they manage to successfully predict a trend but they end up closing their position way too early, so instead winning double or triple digits, they only manage to accumulate single digits in profit. It has something which I have personally experienced, by the way.

When comes to lending money, it is very circumstantial whether one should or not lend to friends and family, though as a rule of thumb, money lending and gambling do not mix well at all, specially if that is money one is planning to gamble or bet as OP did.

Have you also considered the possibility of losing this game then?
Even you yourself didn't know that you will for sure win this game otherwise you would have converted your bitcoin or even to borrow money to stake higher amount. Well first congrats on your win, no matter how small you deemed it be, it's still a win in gambling and many of us know how hard that comes by these days.

Secondly, I don't know about you but I tend to think everything actually has a reason and purpose for happening and I also think your friend actually borrowing that funds was bound to occur inorder for you to achieve that win of yours. Well the reason why am saying this is because most of the time gamblers try to be extremely careful when they actually want to stake high amount of which alway ends because the more they try to be safe the more the game gets easily spoilt. You're right @OP, to just let it go instead of thinking about it all the time. That will make you tired, and you won't be able to think clearly about what bet you can place next. You can definitely still win other bets, and yesterday's win is not the end of your bet. You can still bet and forget about your friends. You can still enjoy your winnings and prepare other money to place bets. Don't think too much about it because it's pointless. You should rest first before starting to choose other matches. I agree with you and this are the things that lead someone to become addiction in gambling. Such feeling is there to tricker the gambler to play more. And started from like this. The Op feel that, what he has won is not enough and he wanted to win more if the $10 was with him but that is wrong feeling. Who knows if he stake big and loss everything. Op should not have this feeling again in next time and stake whatever he has in his hand, he should use it to stake and leave the rest for the luck.

Ah, it's like this again. I thought only my area or neighborhood was like this, but it turns out this might happen anywhere. I personally don't really believe in various promises from someone to pay it off when they come to us and are in debt. They often make very sweet promises and promises to return ASAP. But in reality, they might even forget about it when they receive our money. Therefore, based on my personal experience, which has been involved in lending money to other people many times, if someone comes, it is better to refuse. Luck may not be the same. It could be that when you get your $10, it turns out you didn't get the winnings. quite dangerous thinking there. pretty sure you would feel differently if the result of the bet didn't end in your favor and would feel glad that you only lost $1 instead of $10. don't get me wrong I understand your frustration when your friend didn't do what he promised but saying you would have won bigger if you had the $10 is simply not true, there was no guarantee that you would win if your bet was $10.
