I by far would disagree that there is anything that addiction has to do with genetic predisposition or how ever you want to put it, gambling addiction is not inherent, and as such, we cant say that for sure that it is something that can be passed from one generation or linage to another, or from a parent to their children like it is with some ailments/sicknesses.

People get addicted to gambling, not because their parent were addicted to gambling, but because they themselves decided on their own to toe same path their parents toed, which caused them to get addicted to gambling.
So, for someone who's father is addicted to gambling, he or she can be completely different and a different type of gambler as well, all depends on his choices, decisions in relation to his or her gambling activities.

I think it's simply a genetic variation that occurs in some amount of people, I think it was somewhere around 15% or so, basically not a lot but also not nothing.

You can check if you have that if you find it hard to stop drinking after you started drinking a couple of glasses of alcohol.

Hahaha everything will be related to the goals and ambitions of gambler, if gambling is only for fun and ambition is only for entertainment then the percentage of gambling addiction will never be experienced.

True, I completely agree with your idea that the people who are now safe without experiencing problems as a result of gambling are those who do have a proper understanding of the concept of gambling, they understand that gambling is nothing more than a profit-making activity in the sense that there is absolutely no guarantee and certainty of anything that can make you win at the end of the session and of course it means that the end of your gambling session is always unpredictable.

You have a valid point Mr. Wakate. There is no two ways about it that this style of regret breads greed. If we regret the amount won, then obviously we will want to win bigger next time and that will mean playing bigger and losing bigger too. This is what greed can do to individual gamblers. As we are playing gamble, we should be contented with any amount of profit we collect because nobody is sure of what the outcome of our gamble will be. The only thing that might be passed on from a parent or grandparent to the children or grandchildren is their way of thinking and mindset which might become the reason for them to have some interest in gambling, however, the odds of them becoming a gambling addict just because their father has been an addict are very tiny. Another reason for them becoming addicted to gambling is if the parents gambled in front of them when they were young and they might see and remember it because children learn things from their elders.

However, I also don't agree that a child who has been kept away from gambling since the beginning would become addicted to it as a genetic predisposition unless it's a coincidence that they start gambling and become addicted when they grow up.
