To say the truth, both teams, Brazil and Uruguay aren't top tier ones. The match yesterday was terrible! I didn't see any skills, professionalism and performance, rather there was only aggressivity from both sides, but especially from Uruguay's players. The match didn't flowed in any moment, as each time a player touched the ball, a foul was commited by the rival team.

The referee should have given many more yellow cards. Maybe that would inhibit the violent behavior of the players in the field.

An Uruguayan player blatantly orientated the ball with his right hand, another almost broke the ankle of a Brazilian player and was expelled, and a third one bumped into Endrick for nothing while the game was stopped. A very shady squad which didn't deserve to win in my opinon. But even with the advantage for Brazil, with +1 player in field after the Uruguay lost Nandéz, they didn't manage to do any further progress.

In the end, the Brazilian player who missed the penalty did the hardest thing: to hit the goalpost.

Uruguay vs Colombia

Canada will play against Argentina in the first semi-final match. Argentina defeated Canada in the group stage match. Canada defeated Venezuela in the quarter-finals to qualify for the semi-finals. Venezuela was strong, winning 3 out of 3 group stage matches. Canada had better luck, they won in a penalty shootout. However, Argentina is a much stronger team than Canada. Between Argentina and Canada, Argentina will definitely be ahead, hopefully Argentina will win. The match between Uruguay and Colombia will be very competitive.

Since the start of the Copa America, I've missed a lot of things and that's why I rarely join in to discuss this thread.  but I am interested in discussing the semi-final match, especially for Argentina. Talking about Argentina vs Canada, we can confirm that Argentina's chances are much higher than the opposing team. Moreover, Canada was defeated in the group stage match with a score of 2-0. Likewise, if we refer to the temporary odds for these two teams, Argentina has low odds. while Canada's odds are quite high. Theoretically, Argentina should be able to qualify for the next round.

However, if we want to see a fairly competitive match, the other semi-final match is Uruguay vs Colombia.
Honestly, I haven't tried to research it and analyze it further. However, if you refer to the statistics of these two teams, both teams played good matches throughout their matches in the Copa America. especially when referring to the odds available, for the time being there are no significant differences provided by the betting exchange. Uniquely, in the last two meetings between these two teams, the match ended in a draw. Brazil excelled in numbers but not in their playmaking as in the end it was not known whether it was Uruguay's solid defense or Brazil's utter weakness in their attack that made them fail in this phase.

I honestly expected something more in this match because both teams are clearly big teams in Copa America, it's just that the myriad of talented players that Brazil currently has is not accompanied by the performance of the coach who seems mediocre even below the standard for the size of a large national team.
With this result we will see a pretty interesting semi-final where Argentina meets Canada and Uruguay who will face Colombia.
This will be interesting especially considering Colombia's current form I think this will be a decent semi-final.

With the performance like these things are never been ideal for the Brazil because they are already going from bad to worse, and they are having some strong strategy and technique for having improved results which are brought them back into top competition we have red card for the Uruguay player in 74th minute which give good advantage to Brazil for having their path to win, but their attack completely fails to take advantage and having goal without any doubt this is going to be huge concern for them to have changes and try to work for better results before it's gone too late.

Now we have four teams for the semifinals with Argentina are going to face Canada and Columbia which thrash Paraguay going to face Uruguay with this match is going to be had some good stuff for the fans because both are level in quality and performance.

In today's match, the Brazil team is doing the worst performance, so that the player of the Uruguay team, Nahitan Nandez, got a red card and left the field after 74 minutes. This was Brazil's biggest opportunity as the Uruguayan defense lacked defenders. But Brazil team is very weak in attacking department as today's match could have won if Vinicius Junior was present.

No doubt Argentina is the favorite to win this quarterfinal and if somehow Ecuador manages to win that it will be a big upset. Also Argentina will want to win this Copa America 2024 as they already hold the Fifa World Cup title with them that they won in Qatar in 2022.

Doing a bit of analysis between the two teams, Argentina finished first in Group A and they did not lose any match so far. However, Ecuador finished 2nd in Group B. They won only one match, had a draw in another and faced a loss in one match too and yet they are here in the Quarterfinals with Argentina. I would call them a bit lucky here as Mexico also had the 4 points but they failed to qualify by a very close margin only.

Well, to be honest, Ecuador almost beat Argentina, for me Ecuador really got through because they were very lucky, Mexico was not, Mexico did not show anything and it was clear that they talk a lot and do nothing, that happens sometimes, I hope it is a great lesson for that team and for those who like to underestimate others, for me the game between Canada and Venezuela was an absolute mess, for me it is like when someone goes to play on the street, I saw it that way, for me Canada is the revelation team, and it can outdo Argentina, although for me Argentina had an easy path to reach the final, a question of luck or not , they had it easy.

I agree with your point because the current generation of players in Brazil do not work hard for the team. Of course Ronaldinho was a legend, he must have told the truth because the current situation of the Brazilian team is not very good. Despite forming a strong squad, they also lost to normal teams and their current performance is very disappointing. Brazil's failure in the match against Uruguay was surprising considering that Brazil was one of the strong candidates to win the title. Vinicius was absent from the game which made their attack a little different, but I don't understand why Dorival Júnior didn't start Gabriel Martinelli instead of Endrick. This is the beginning of why Brazil was not very effective in attacking and taking advantage of its goal chance, but Uruguay is a heavy team and also strong in defense.

The tension of the match is very tight and I think some players will get injured due to more physical contact, this is also the reason why there are red cards in the match. They have a weak generation that doesn't play football for their nation and they play football for themselves and no wonder they lost. There are too many ego's in that team to actually carry Brazil towards an international title or even Copa America and if something big won't change for them , I'm afraid they will have the same result in World Cup 2026 too.

Brazil has come too far, this team is very, very bad, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it is the worst Brazilian team of all time, it has many mediocre players and others that are overrated, they are common players from small teams that don't have conditions to play in competitive teams. There's nothing that can be done, this generation of players is very bad, maybe in a few decades another good team will emerge, but this generation: no chance.

In that last game, against Uruguay, I don't think they had a bad performance, they played well, but Urugay had a very strong defense. And when it went to penalties, unfortunately I was no longer rooting for Brazil, because historically I know that they are bad at penalties and I don't even remember when was the last time they beat another team in a penalty shootout.

However, Brazil could have avoided this clash against Uruguay if they had beaten Colombia in the previous match, and then yes, I agree with you... they played very badly, missed a lot of passes and could have beaten Colombia if they had only had better control of the game.

Anyway, I think Brazil still needs to improve a lot, I hope coach Dorival Jr. prepares the Brazilian team better for the World Cup.

Was at first having issues with where in particular to drop this but then since it's coming from a personality from the South America I felt this should be the right place for this.

After carefully reading what Marcelo Bielsa said and contrasting it with the perspective today about how football games in tournament's, leagues  in the world has been viewed  and given priority akin to the team's and players over others, one will be persuaded to agree with Bielsa about the future of football among other sports.

Do you agree with his statement as a football fan or you have a different thought about this?
