The particular story has gone viral in my locality, just this afternoon I heard some people debating on the stupidity of the gambler, saying it was utter foolishness for anyone take or actually think of even taking his life. Gambling is something that should be done at the expense of knowing you can endure every lost that comes your way because losing is actually the bigger part of the habit, I am led to understand that the ratio of gamblers who are at profits than lose is very small as the major population of gamblers are at lost more than winning.

I'm not sure if it is all about his big losses, for some reason he could use it as an excuse for the main reason.
In fact, he is a rich person and I know he could afford to lose that huge amount but there is something behind that story and we don't know yet. Because I don't he was stupid to commit such suicide just for that amount knowing that he could still make money as he had the capacity to do it.

Well, whatever the main reason for such a scenario, still it was a big mistake. He was too emotional and might have a mental problem.

Having and possessing a positive mindset, I agree with this. Tough times do not last, tough people do. So it's really a matter of mindset and attitude towards a situation. If you will let the situation control over your emotions and actions, justifying going reckless, or being impulsive, then you will definitely lose. He lost 2.5 million naira in their nigerian currency if it will convert in USD it’s around 3K$+, Apparently, it was not such a large amount of money that caused him to commit suicide, so i agree with you here other reason behind gambling losses or it was such a big loss for him that he mentally lost control of himself and did this.

Apparently this is a true live event happened in my State this week and almost everyone is talking about it. About a young man that killed himself after a gamble loss, he even left a message for his family and friends before taking his life.  But I wonder why should someone take his own life  just because he lost  #2.5 million to gambling an amount  equivalent to just about $3k. I can relate to his loss but taking your life is something unimaginable and unjustifiable to do. No matter the regrets suicide isn't an option to be taking as a solution , you are only leaving bigger pains  behind for your loved ones.

I think the biggest trouble is that we are talking about people who already have psychological issues, that's the main root of the problem. If I lose everything I have to gambling, and I mean everything, my house, my car, my possessions, my money, have maxed out credit card and maxed out loans and all, basically ALL is gone, which all would be worth a ton, and would mean I will never live a decent life ever again, I would still not consider that as a reason to hurt myself.

That's right, and actually the solution is only those closest to him and also people who realize that he is in big trouble, and the problem is because he is not honest or open about his problems, especially with his gambling problem.
