My People, Una weldone o. If una see the joy wey I dey get like dis so, una no go believe as I be like person wey don chop overfeeding. Well as Una see the title, history of nija local board. I just dey reason am say as many new naija board members dey enter forum, Dem suppose still know small history of how our oga Dem take fight their way till we finally got our own local board last year. Yes last year so we are actually just 1 year old. Hurray nija board members although I wasn't here at that time, but I'm grateful to be a member of this wonderful forum. And so far nija board has shown many impressive statistics in d past few months and we are happy to be amongst d most active local boards of d forum. Thanks to many of our new members and oga Dem wey dey do all their best to make sure say the local board dey clean and much more interesting than when it was just a single thread. Well enough of the talking, follow me through this short history of naija board and be amazed, just as I dey when I dey compildis thread. Like dis now, we don show say really, we Nigerians no dey carry last.

In d early days of the forum, when Bitcointalk nova dey popular as e dey now for we country, our old oga Dem find Dem way to dis ogbonge forum. And having being an African, a Nigerian, all of dey do very well here for BitcoinTalk. Dem really represent us d Africans very well, con create better reputations for inside dis forum. So far, some early men Come see say e go make more sense, if Nigeria get Dem own local board.

So on d 08 February, 2019, our oga @ Mpamaegbu come create d first ever nija board request thread wey e title Nigeria Local Board: Theymos take Note. Dis request was shocking and other men for naji wey see say d idea make sense come support d thread well. Dem hold ground with our oyibo men Dem. If you read through d thread you go see how many people Dem use mouth take finish our people Dem but Dem no gree. Sha Dem no grant d request dat time,but other many top oga con suggest say since na d first request, e go better make we first create something like a local language thread first. Dis idea na to calculate d amount of active members wey dey we country before Dem go fit reason to give us we Localboard.

With so many suggestions, on d 17 of march, 2019 oga CryptopreneurBrainboss come create de African bitcointalk community hangout thread. Dis name wey he give am, na to give way for other countries Dem wey dey Africa to tay take part for d discussion thread.

After  sometime, d thread come dey go well, and @ CryptopreneurBrainboss come think am say e go better make we fight first for we own board den we fit later join fight for other african country board dem. E also noticed say everybody wey dey talk for inside d thread, na mostly nija people, so e come decide say e go change d name of d thread to Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout. and dem come accept just two languages for dis thread wey be ENGLISH AND PIDGIN

So see wetin happen wey make thread don change. We Nigerians we sabi carry Africa for head but others no dey reasons us like dat. E come be like we dey waste our time for here as na only we we dey here. Some people come reason me say make we fight for our own first then we fit fight fight for odas and I come see sense for wetin dey talk na e make I sharp sharp change the thread to focus more us, Nigerians.
As e be now eh, the agenda never change as na to get our own local board be the priority, if we fit achieve am everywhere go strew for us. We just need to dey very active atleast once a week for the thread and contribute towards the matter wey we dey address.

Times pass and d local thread don show better statistics and more active members Don turn up in the past few months

So with dis turn up from our naija people Dem, our oga @ Charles Tim con create d 2nd request for we local board on d February 07, 2021. Dis request again see many supporters because even Dem oyibo Dem notice say d naija thread show many positive movement and many new posts don dey created for d local thread in d past few months.

D request was still not granted, dis wan na becos Dem say d local boardthread speack more of English pass pidgin and also d activity from d local thread still no reach to tay open Dem own local board. Some oga Dem con advice say make we people Dem try keep d board more active and if d statistics show more activities maybe den admin go reason d request.

I think the reason why the request was denied in the past is because all of the Nigerians On Bitcointalk speak English and admins probably didn't think a Pidgin English board would have many users. But if the number of Nigerians is much higher now, it makes sense that you guys have your own local. However, if your local would allow users to write in English as well, the admins might turn down the idea. A Pidgin English only local would have better chances.

Discuss among yourselves how you would like your board to look and what sub-boards it should have. That helped the Croatian community get new sub-boards a few months ago. Those ides were then presented to theymos and Cyrus and the new boards were created.  

I think it could help to see how many Nigerians there actually are and how many of you are active on Bitcointalk.If the numbers aren't as high as they should be, maybe an African local could be an alternative option. In that case, you have to agree on which local languages would be accepted.

@ Charles tim, on  22, September 2021,con think say e go still good, if admin pin d local thread for top of d local language board just as many other board do Dem own. Dis idea, we e say na other member give am con dey very good. dat one na because e don notice say other thread Dem wey no dey active reach we naija thread just dey block road for we thread to dey top and if our own no dey top, some members no go fit see am. e con create e Request for pinned Nigerian local thread make admin for pin d local thread.

Recently, one of the veteran members hinted me to first seek for our local thread to be pinned, that it should be what we should first seek for, that later we can seek for a local board. I have sent pm to Cyrus before, and I believed one or two members might have sent pm to Cyrus about our local thread to be pinned (just a guess). That is why we think sending pm directly may be inappropriate because the thread has not been pinned ever since then, that is why we want to make it official and public on meta board, we highly hope the Nigeria local thread will also be pinned.
Nigeria local thread is one of the most active thread in the other languages board but yet not pinned, there are 22 threads pinned while 21 are local threads, some of the local threads are not even active but taking up space while making Nigeria local board not visible as it should be, that is the reason we are now requesting for the thread to be pinned.

Shockingly, dis request no take time at all. Admin approved d request, con pinned d local thread put for d other local languageboard on 23rd September 2021. dis one con be happy moment for everybody for we local board as na e be d first request wey Dem approve for us.

Na so d year 2021 Tay end and admin Dem no still give us we Nigeria board.So far, our oga Dem just come focus on trying to increase our local board activities and speck more pidgin as a suggested by other members.
After a while, d request thread by Charles tim don almost dey forgotten, den @ Mpamaegbu con decide to bump d thread again in April  2022 Dis bump wey e do, na to tay remind our admin Dem say, we still dey in need of d local board and hope say Dem go still approve am.

So far over d month, naija thread con show better improvement and when @ Rikafip con do he monthly statistics, e con see say naija don climb go up as d 11th most active local thread for d last few months.dis wan na better improvement

E don reach 9 month, since d last discussion about d nija board don happen and no reply from d admins. So far everybody don relax come dey do Dem best to keep d local thread active. Then one faithful morning;

Na for d early hours of d day, December 21, 2022, 06:05:53 Am,  our oga @ CryptopreneurBrainboss come bring great new for d local board. Finally d long awaited local board was approved and created by admin theymos. Dis news was a wonderful celebration for d Nigeria community.  At last, admin con see say we too need our own board and use am Tay do Christmas for us. D whole local board happy and con dey thank theymos for dis wonderful thing wey e don go for we Nigerian people Dem.

The journey to getting this local board is a continuous one. Although only a few members started to journey, we now have a community backing the movement which is a big plus. Although the thread wasn't necessary as we're barely a year old but I appreciate the effort put into creating the thread. Maybe if this thread been dey come out in our 5 years or 10 years anniversary na when I got see more importance to the thread but anyhow sha kudos for reminding us where we started from. This fight no start as Nigeria fight but as Africa and threads like this (No African local board) na wetin open our eyes to the struggle. Mpamaegbu come bring the appeal for a Nigerian board, dat time I dey full member and many of the OGs here still dey very lower rank. I remember because na when I reach Snr member wey I create that hangout thread and then we had a place to brings heads together and got what we have today.

If anybody here has to take credit na Mpamaegbu as na him open our eyes we come dey come together as one family and today we dun big like this. We still dey grow sha and small small we go get a bigger board wey go dey compete with the other boards but to do that we need more quality posters and as we dey post make we no only dey run am say we want complete weekly quota but to add quality to the board so anytime wey we request for anything them no go waste time approve am for us.

We dun try for ourselves and we go continue they push forward, all those bigger boards una dey see so, e take dem time to build am to where e dey so make we no dey rush our own. Small small we go get everything. Theymos get how him dey do e things, just requesting won't give us what we want but strategic planning go give us am.
