It's out of our business anymore even if you don't have any bad intention of asking that. The old guy might just be enjoying his life to the fullest as maybe he's used to gambling during his prime days. There's no right age to stop gambling. As long as the gambler is a responsible person in gambling, they can continue regardless of their age, until their inner self shows no interest anymore in gambling or is no longer capable anymore to do gambling.

Maybe just our of curiosity since people might be curious to their activity especially if they always hear bad stories about gambling. But if they could just realize that gambling is not all about losing and somehow it can make the old man brain to get exercise then for sure they would not touch or disturb their activities. For sure their family know already what they do but they let their old folks enjoy what they currently do since they know that's how they enjoy their boring times in a day.

At an old age gambling is more just like a pastime or hobby to them compared to the vast majority of gamblers in their early age where they consider gambling as a method to get rich by getting lucky quickly. Or just a source of thrill. Honestly, it doesn't matter at some point as long as you're having fun in the process and you don't damage your livelihood, even if you are young or old it's fine to gamble for a long time. Making profits in a sense is just the visible goal for the most part. At least that's what I say to myself to avoid falling addicted to it.

If you bet just for fun, I don't think it's a problem even though most people aim to win in their bets. I think people who are addicted to gambling will never retire. This will depend on the contentment of the gambler as we can see, even old people still into gambling and some consider this as their kill time since they don't have anything to do and most of them prefer to gamble more. Personally, I can't tell when I will stop to gamble since I'm just an occasional gambler and didn't have much expectation in gambling that's why I can stop gambling anytime, this is not a big deal for me.

And stress. I am not old I really felt the stress toll of gambling at playing casino games a week ago. I mean, I didn't think that I could get angry like that because I felt like I was being robbed without any RTP coming.

Yes, older people definitely have their own thoughts about gambling in their old age. Of course the age limit for gambling is 18+ and there are no restrictions for people over 60 or 70 years old to gamble. It is his own choice and we should not interfere in his decision

But honestly, I would probably ask the same thing if I met someone who was too old but still gambling. Wouldn't it be better for them to spend time with their children and grandchildren at home? Enjoy his last years with his family and those closest to him. However, it is also possible that the elderly person does not have children or perhaps their children have abandoned them so they choose to gamble as entertainment.

let us do accept the fact that there are indeed old gamblers who are using this activity as their past time. it is one of the easy activities that they can do to have an active mind. now, it depends on them how they will use it to their advantage. should not go beyond their limits, so they won't have a headache in their later stage of their lives.

Am not sure if there are even time that truly gambling become a past time mate because from the very time it was invented people are  doing it to win over others so that is not a past time specially when it was having a Bet against each other so why do you say it is about pasting time mate .

I don't think that an old man of 70yrs will be gambling for profit, when he did that during his early days, he must have been used to gambling and sees it as a means of having fun and that is why he is still gambling, to keep his body and soul together, since he is limited to having fun.

Gambling is good at old age, as long as you are still with your senses. There's a popular saying which says "experience is the best teacher" ahd that's why I absolutely agree to the fact that older people who has been involved in gambling for a very long time in their life are the ones who does retire in gambling than the younger adults. Perhaps, it was an individual decision OP but I don't think we have to wait for the moment that we can no longer gamble before deciding to stop.
 I believe that oldies are into gambling just for fun so it was not hard for them to stop but for young people that can be a big challenge especially those who are already addicted.
 
As a casual gambler, I don't think it makes sense to gamble until 70 years old. We are old enough for that age and I don't think it was entertaining anymore.
