I have opened over 10 nano's and have not damaged even one. If you don't know what your doing when handling electronics then don't even start.

So.... I got my first Avalone Nano 3. I didn't have a any right PSU so I bought Dell laptop charger and works flawlessly.
I've been solo mining in millspools for BCH for while now..... for with no sign of hitting the block.
Pools hashrate is 7.807 PH/s and network difficulty is 516.886 G... I'm start to thinking I'm just push my luck here.
I'm thinking switch to solo mining Doge coin.... Seem to be less difficult and but same payout as BCH.
EDIT: Never mind, someone in reddit mentioned you can't mine Doge with SHA256 devices. So I guess BCH as it is.
So, main question is... If I only got 1 Avalone Nano 3. What you guys recommended to get most out of this thing? Everyone in a youtube or reddit talks about solo mining and pretty much only talk about solo mining but is there anyway to get most profit out of pool mining?
I'm asking this because I never mined before until I got this device here....
If I stuck with only 1 machine to solo mining, what you guys also recommend to do?
I'm thinking buy more to increase the odds and solo mining other coin too though....
Just a heads up, not sure if its been mentioned here yet. But I had one of those dell psu's connected. After about a month got a error message on the small screen. Turns out I burned out the chip that communicates PD3.1 tech to the nano. These dell psu's dont have PD3.1 and Canaan won't warranty my device because of this. Do yourselves all a favor and either get the Canaan factory psu's because their actually pretty cheap or make sure your aftermarket ones have PD3.1. It's vital to the longterm lifespan of your nano's.

The bottomline is the design is terrible. more parts to break.
very sloppy and lazy. The nano’s are cheap and have extra parts that can break.
Would have been better off with a simple six pin pcie. and a voltage regulator.
I have two and they still run okay. Set to medium speed.

Tell us a miner that is beautiful designed. As for the fragile, how do you treat them? I run them at mid speed. Not high speed. I use them with a wifi repeater. I popped off the plastic grills to have better airflow. I leave them alone so as not to stress the usb-c connection. I like the altairtech builds. let me find a link. https://altairtech.io/product/bitchimney/if you use the t21 and the epic controller you can clock it to 500 watts it will do about 27th. I built 3 with the s19xp they work well.

yeah but you can get a t21 model for 1600. I think I can build one for that including shipping. as long as you are usa based. Its 1 board not 3 it will do 500 to 800 watts. about 18 watts a th 28 th to 44 th. I run 3 s19 xp models to nicehash in my friends office If you want an xp I can go to maybe 1100 including shipping. these are built already they do about 22watts a th I would ship to lower 48 and this all belongs in a pm not here.

Oh no. I was feeling so good about my Avalon Nano 3. Now as I sit in my office I can hear that the fan is quite a bit louder than it originally was. Sounds like maybe a ball bearing is going out already. I picked it up and it sounded like things were moving around in there. I'm not going to touch it again and I turned it down to low speed in hopes of keeping it alive as long as possible. I'm going to try removing the plastic grill like you mentioned in another post to improve airflow and maybe if that helps out I'll try it out on Medium again.

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Avalon Nano 3. I've had the device since yesterday, but I'm having problems with the web interface. Nothing is displayed there (see picture). I've already tried two other browsers, but the problem remains the same. I've restarted it countless times, unplugged the device and reset it - all to no avail. The data was only displayed once. However, when I logged in via my cell phone, the data was displayed as it should be. What could be the reason for this? Does anyone have a solution to the problem? Thanks. https://www.pic-upload.de/view-37411738/Screenshot_8.jpg.htmlhttps://www.pic-upload.de/view-37411739/1000090576.jpg.html

I bought a Avalon Nano 3 without the PSU, there wasn't an option on the indego site to purchase it with a PSU at the time. But I am having trouble sourcing a PSU for it, initially I bought a Lenovo LEGION what I thought was a 170W USB-C wall charger but realized 1. The sellers who said it was 170w lied and its a 135w, and two the pictures show it with a USB-C to USB-C cable but it came witha USB-C to Lenovo yellow connector power cable. Yes when I try it with my Samsung laptop USB-C to USB-C cable or my Samsung S24 Ultra cable (the cable I use) the Avalon tells me the PSU is not supported.
I have ordered a couple of cheap options off Amazon to try later today, including a connector that converts the Lenovo yellow connector to a USB-C just case in case the cables I have are the problem.
I would like to see those who have purchased a PSU outside of Conaan Avalon what worked for you.
Thanks,
Currently using (& semingly without any problems) this charger kit that includes proper cable: USAMS Fast Charger Kit (Modell: US-CC168 / USAMS T52 140W ACC GaN Fast Charger (EU) + US-SJ581 / U82 Type-C to Type-C 240W PD3.1 Fast Charging & Data Cable USB-C1 Output: 5V:3A, 9V:3A, 12V:3A, 15V:3A, 20V:5A, 28V:5A (140W Max) )

(sign) ......are you serious? I'm still paying for that damn thing. What about philipma1957? Aren't he's one of the people inspired some people here and redditors to buy Dell charger? Does he have any issues? Also, cheep my ass. I went to indigogo and Canaan PSU was around 70$ include shipping. Although, there's no PSU that you could buy cheeper than 50$ so I guess 70$ is worth it after all. Instead, I could go extra mile and buy another Avalone Nano 3 and let the first one burn to hell, what do you guys think I should do?

Not sure what to tell you except just make sure the psu has PD3.1, I overlooked that detail but apparently its one the more important details to pay attention to. Canaan told me many folks are having good success with the Ugreen 160w charger. On Canaan's official site theu come out to just over 66 bucks with shipping included to Canada. I was having a hard time finding something of quality in that price, shipping included. Another one I've seen them talking about in the TG chat that I've had good performance from Amazon is this 210W PD3.1 psu/charger. Currently there is a 15 dollar coupon one can apply bringing the cost down to $34.99 Amazon link, this is not a referral link https://a.co/d/gYgZXNt

I forgot that they have tip system and I accidently over paid for it... Well, listen learned. Unlike Amazon or common check out screen, you can't alter the order or cancel it anyway. I could go for another Nano 3 but... since I have 2 now, probably I should wait.

Thanks for this thread.
Has anyone been able to figure out how to SSH into this unit? I don't know if Canaan wants people to do this, but they did leave the port open, so I'm confident someone can find a way.
I'd love to be able to programmatically adjust settings, and wonder if getting access via SSH would allow for that.

What exactly would you adjust? There is an announcement of Canaan that they will release the sources in December this year.
