I got 5 Nano 3 with their PSU.
All running on high for months with no problems.
The new mini 37.5 TH/s looks interesting

Mine were good for 6-7 months they are dead.

Yours will likely die before july

Mine is back up and running for now. I don’t really trust it, but it seems to be doing fine at the moment. I think it doesn’t make sense to use these or a bitaxe as anything but a solo miner, so whether or not it is a good purchase depends on whether or not you hit a block, or need the heat. I think I’ll wait and see if bitaxe releases a higher speed device with a better price per th before thinking about buying anything else.

Are you thinking about the NerdQAxe Supra?
At 4 TH/s, it appears to have an efficiency of 20W/TH.

Maybe I'll also wait to see this release and then decide whether to buy it or not.

The Avalon Remote app has been superseded with a hokey Avalon Family app over the past few days with several revisions / updates out on it.

Two updates ago I wasn't able to see any of them through their app. After the most recent update they are back...

So if you can't see access them through the app most likely you need to update!

No, that TH per $ amount is pretty terrible I think.  I'd probably be better off just sticking with a Avalon Nano 3...  If they can release a 12TH/s miner for less than a thousand dollars, then I might be interested.  We're talking solo mining here though, so it is most likely a complete loss.  Overpaying for the hardware makes it worse.  Sure, the Avalon might fall apart, but how long would you have to run a Bitaxe to make up for the higher price per TH?  My guess is years and with summer not far away, I think it might make sense for me in my personal position to let the Avalon do it's thing for a couple more months and then just turn it off until next winter.  If Bitcoin bubbles up then maybe it would be worth trying to grab some hardware at the top for next winter.

Hello! How to enable the socks5 proxy server on the device so that traffic goes through the Tor network?
you mean your miner would send data via tor?
You will never ever win a block as other than hashing power the latency also matters, the lower the latency the higher the chances of winning a block.

It is important for me that traffic goes through TOR. My ISP blocks all mining pools using the DPI system.

I need the traffic to go encrypted through the TOR. How can I set a proxy server on this device?

You can't. It does not have that ability. Best you can do is use a different ISP.

tip: in cases like this it would be a GREAT help if:
a. you say what country you are in
b. give the name of the offending ISP

Most countries and ISP's do not care if you mine so frankly most folks here have never had those problems.

Can I run my own mining pool on a computer on a local network and redirect traffic from it to another mining pool via the Tor network?

To your question, yes of course, but I bet people could help you much better if you answer NotFuzzyWarm's questions.

I'm not saying they won't get there.
But, I think it will still take a while to reach these hashrates at lower prices.

Now, there will certainly be more equipment coming soon, if they can make it for under $1000, but preferably under $500.

How do I setup Avalon Nano 3 to work with Bitcoin Core v.27
I changed the configuration Bitcoin Core v.27:

server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=USER
rpcpassword=PASS
rpcallowip=192.168.1.3
rpcallowip=192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcbind=192.168.1.2
rpcport=3333

I changed the configuration Avalon Nano 3:
-o http://192.168.1.2:3333 -u USER -p PASS --btc-address XXXXXXXXXXX

But it still doesn't work.

Two of my devices have already been repaired. The bearings on the other 3 are already whistling. I don't think this is a product with a very long lifespan.

The main problem is the heat. Keep them cool with usb fans. Mine are working like a charm.

What is the latest firmware for the nano 3? I have this loaded:

24071801_42c628d

Thanks! The avalon family app isn't showing any way to update the firmware so I'm not sure if this is the latest or not.

You are absolutely right on this one.
The cooler you can run them, the longer they will last!

But if you want to use them as small heaters, in my opinion they won't last very long...

This is what I do to keep them cool:

I got my 1st Nano 3 in early August last year and setting it to Low power mode I noticed the temp reached 80c! And this was inside the house during the Winter here in Australia. So the first thing I did was remove both front and back panels. Okay so then the temp only went to 65c after that. There's also a thin fixed plastic black mesh filter tacked on the inside of the exhaust vent which I also removed with a small flat head screwdriver. That dropped the temp by another 3 or 4c.

Unfortunately without manual control of the internal fans (mine are programmed to run at 25% only), I couldn't get the temp any lower. So the last thing I did, and this had the best result over all. I cut up an old metal coat hanger and threaded it through 2 mounting holes of a 120mm high static pressure PC fan and fashioned it as a stand so the fan sits upright quite firmly. I placed that PC fan directly behind the Nano 3 (pushed right up against it at about 50% of max speed using a cheap 12v fan controller from AliExpress). That dropped the temperature down another 22c!

I bought another 2 more Nano 3 miners about 4 months ago and used the same procedure above and all 3 of my Nanos have been running flawlessly. However, I rarely run them on High for very long. My main goal is to have them mining at a speed which will keep them at 60c or lower for longevity. I have my Nanos setup on a shelf in my garage and their temperatures will reach 25c above ambient on Low setting. So in the Winter when it's 10c in the garage, the Nanos will be at about 35c on the Low setting. If I crank it to Med setting they will hit the high 40s to low 50s celsius (with the ambient around 10c). Finally setting to High and we're approaching high 60s to low 70s celsius (still with the ambient around 10c). So during next Winter (a little earlier and a little later so about 6 months worth), I'll have them set to Med setting probably all season.

But now it's summertime here and the ambient temp in my garage has reached 35+ celsius many times already so the Nanos never go above the Low setting. When the Nanos temp goes a few degrees over 60c, I turn them off until night time when it's a little cooler again.

My Alternate power source:
I use this Power Supply: (which has plenty of power to spare with 3 Nanos on High setting)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007293375122.html
And 3 of these Fast Charging Modules:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007815956220.html

Personally I would only use the power bricks that come with them on the Low setting and maybe on Med setting in the cooler months...

I'll add to this I had to return 1 out of the 6 Nano 3's due to failure within the first 3 weeks of having them running on medium.

All ordered from their indiegogo pre-sale with official PSU's.

The quality of these is certainly in question for long term use but for the value for a 4TH miner is still pretty decent imho.

Welp today 1 of the fans starting making a nice crunchy sound and the unit shut down.

So that's issues with 2 of 7 of the units within what I would consider to be a fairly short period of time.

Rarely if ever do I run on anything but medium.

Support request through their "family" app has been sent.

they seem to be garbage 🗑️ my two are dead. about 6-7 months on medium.

the chips they are in the usb c simply cant handle the constant heat.

So far the one I got in November is still running fine <knock wood>. One thing I did was remove the grills - they are attached with magnets - and it runs a fair bit cooler. Still need to restart every couple weeks though as it just stops. Restart it and fine for another few weeks. Rinse & repeat...

It's the same with me. 2 out of 6 devices are already in need of repair. After the repair, one device can't go up to 4th. I won't buy from them anymore because they are clearly not durable, unfortunately.

That's too bad because their full size miners are tanks - for the most part very few problems. I've had A7's, 8's, 9's, A10's and an A12 -- all solid as a rock. Lost a couple fans on the few dozen A841's I had but that's it.

Thanks! The avalon family app isn't showing any way to update the firmware so I'm not sure if this is the latest or not.

That's the one I am running.

That's too bad because their full size miners are tanks - for the most part very few problems. I've had A7's, 8's, 9's, A10's and an A12 -- all solid as a rock. Lots a couple fans on the few dozen A841's I had but that's it.

I think this was there big attempt at a budget / entry level model. I'm not unhappy with the performance but as Philip pointed out the usb c power connector is a significant concern for long term use.

Hopefully they will just send me a fan that I can replace myself.

We'll see.
