I think any is OK provided you won't use them as your main wallet.

Since I didn't use it anymore, I ignored the email. However, after seeing the name here, I searched to see if the email was legit. It turns out it was fake, as stated on their website.

When you are setting up an account with metamask, since it's a non-custodial software wallet, they will never ask you for your email address which means they will never have any user email address in their mailing list.
Any email received claiming to be from metamask is from a hacker or scammer who got access to your email address through some breached site or leaked user data. I am glad you were vigilant and dodged the bullet.

Hopefully they are using such kind of tool to audit the followers of the winner to see if they are really a real person or just a bot. Since if they let a lot of user do those illegal things and bot each giveaway they do then provably that those legitimate users will get discourage to join since they feel that there chance to win is so low due to those botters. But anyways we don't have any proof if those past winners doing that but one important thing for now is Metawin delivers what they promise to give to their winners.

I was talking about giveaways on social media. I can't think of any that has more engangement than twt, at least, as far as publicly available stats are concerned. Typically, most popular means get the most attention from bad actors as well so I'm not surprised.

I think that tool was already introduced in the past when Twitter campaigns were still very popular. I think they can still cheat despite being audited, as a big number of their followers aren't organic. IMO, they can still run giveaways like that, though. They just have to evaluate how Twitter would impact their business as a form of marketing. I'm sure they will be able to come up with an analysis after every promotion, as they know the numbers and whether they hit their expectations.

You know, 2017 to 2019, I think bounty hunting was still very popular, and joining a twitter campaign is very easy since you can joined in different projects with your one twitter handle. I agree with this, usually this kind of campaign doesn't require a lot of budget, but like I mentioned, they need to evaluate the result, which means it's not only a one time campaign.
