That is true.. however there are some newbie who doesn't know the trust system works or how effective it could be.. Maybe after period of staying here for a while before they could understand how the trust system works by they could have gotten scammed or even falling a victim. So, if there are other ways of letting beginners or people who aren't familiar with how the system works will be more better.

They would understand it if they read the forum rules, but even if they don’t, once they see a red tag they’ll get curious and read it anyway. And of course, if a scammer creates a thread, the feedback will be bad. He might even make it self-moderated just so he can delete the negative comments. But regardless, it’s everyone’s responsibility to be aware, even newbies. If we fall victim to a scam after all the warnings, we can only blame ourselves, no one else.

Yeah this is one thing I don't do, commenting on a topic that is self moderated by newbie or someone that is already being tag as a scammer or cheater. You are as well in regards to tags but many people who do not understand it may misunderstood it, that is why for me I will suggest the forum include all this as welcome immediate a newbie or beginner creates an account and signed up on the forum which includes a brief explanation about forum in those so that many newbies wouldn't be that curious to know things about the forum and how they should starts as if you look at the beginner and help section you would see that many newbies always asked same question (where do i start and how to glance through the forum".

I got curious about the phishing link being discussed here, so I decided to open the ad in my browser, and what I saw was an obvious scam attempt since it immediately asks you to connect your wallet.

For me, that’s already solid evidence. The user should be banned for this kind of violation.

Yeah its really bannable offense to share phising links in this forum. I also believe that action is similar on spreading malwares since effect is the same.

Its good to see that mods take action towards what that user do, since if it happens that he didn't get banned for spreading that link here.  There's provably huge chance that he will repeat same action for many times and worst if he will create more phising site then spread it on multiple threads.

Now when the user who spread that phishing link is banned, it would be a good idea to edit your previous posts and remove those links from them. The phishing link URL is visible in at least four posts from what I can see. I know that your intentions aren't to advertise it, but it remains visible on the forum. It's better not to point to it anymore.

If users actually read the post properly, they won’t copy and paste those addresses because it’s already mentioned that it’s a scam or a phishing site. The real problem is when it’s used as a disguise and redirects to a fake site, like what that banned user did.

I know spreading phishing links is obviously not allowed. But what we’re doing here isn’t spreading a phishing link, it’s reporting someone who is spreading it. That’s a big difference.

I agree. What rat03gopoh posted was already enough. Even though he pasted the phishing URL, it wasn’t clickable since it was inside a code block.

Nothing to discuss any further about that past shared phising link since its considered to be a case closed after mods decide to ban the guy who spread it. Since if they keep bumping those supposed to be link even if this is not clickable for sure many people will still get curious to look at it. So best option is to forget about it and start to discuss about development and other promotion happening on Metawin.
