This thread will act as a reference for the tags I intend to use on some of the spammers and spam bots on this board. If you know of a user that creates duplicates, spams with worthless social media topics, uses the board to gain Activity points, or spreads hate with issues related to politics.

I left a tag for this users for continue spamming and making pointless topics on the board.

This nah actually nice idea, because most people wan dey abuse the previlage of this our board I go still dey try dey put eye down for any such offences. This is really a nice step. I had same thought this afternoon but mine was to create a thread in meta where I would drop links of shit posters or spam posts every week for any global moderators to check out and delete such post from our local board. Its really becoming obvious that these newbies are actually out of their mind and have decided to over look all that has been said her about the shit posting. It's time we took some action. I have some ideas that would scare these shit posters to stop spamming and you just made one possible.

Thanks to Igebotz for creating this thread. Our local board has been facing a problem of too much spam posts making it difficult to spot important posts with quality.
I can see the thread is beginning to gain importance as Hatchy has done a nice job of also spotting most of these spammers.
I will say Naija board is in despirate need of a moderator and an off topic child board to properly sort these shit posters. I want to believe that the flooding of this board with shit posts is what is making reputable members kindof distant from it.

Me sef go do my own part to gegely report shit posts if I see anyone.

Wow!! This na amazing thread. I really like this move (thread), you have done well creating this thread. Those well meaningful Members and Full Members have been creating threads to make things better in the local board this days after my thread, and there was nobody to hear their cry and finally you came as the Messiah to them. Me I know shey people wey introduced those shitposters in the forum will contact you but they can't contact their boys to do post well. And I believe with this initiative this board will be one of the best ever. There was nothing to discuss in the local board again and even the quality posts we created have pressed down to page 4 and below with those spam posts. Right about time. I am glad this is coming from a high-ranking member like you so that it doesn't look like witch-hunting. I voiced my concern sometime ago in one of the threads that our Naija local board is fast becoming like Nairaland were posts of low quality and all sorts of nonsense is allowed. If this measure is not taken, in the 6 months wey would never remember that there was a time were all we discussed was just cryptocurrencies in relation to building our economy and nation.

My suggestions:

• Let this thread be self-moderated, to keep it clean.
• If you tag any user and notice that after some months their post quality improves, you should remove the tag because it shows that they have learned.

Finally we get to see some action being taken to support all this discussion and deliberation that have being on going due to the high level of spam posts in the board. This our local has been known for things and that's the ability of how fast and quickly we grew from scratch and now we are one of the most respected and most active boards in the forum. Can you explain what is spamming so we will know it from your own perspective because from my reading of all the comments, I have not seen any user spamming this thread. You know support the development of this board and always against, we have been seen your comments here. When users have been littering the board with garages, you have not in any day pm them to stop but as people create threads to clean the board then you go come and spam di thread. Allow those who want to clean di board to do and you do your pm. Upon all di pm you dey do how many of dem e don stop their garbage here? Na a welcome development @igeh you don really do well because at a point I don dey reason am say while this board don turn to home of shit post. We been don pass this level and of a recent time e come be like say level wey people don pass don dey come back. Though the judgment fit dey harsh but Naim be the only way to reduce shitposting. This is a good idea, I must say, but I think it also has to be regulated, let newbies who don't understand what Spa post are or who can't identify ai generated post, to take advantage of this and cause more work on your side, unless your ready to do a serious review on your side too.

Even better I wont lie, I don't know what spam post are supposed to look like and if they are exception to what you are looking for, so better can someone fill me in or even better drop a link to a spam post so I can see and know what we are looking for.

This is a very good idea, at least it would help regulate the board, but why I think should also be regulated is so that some persons won't take advantage of it and misuse it, unless you are going to supervise those post before taking the necessary actions.

Indeed pm might be ignored, but a kind of warning must be issued in a way that it won't affect their accounts, cause you not considering new members who have little to no idea, been too strict on actions might also have negative impact on the board too, both sides should be considered, do proper wisdom can be applied. Bringing a solution I not all that matters,  proper applications should be considered.

Yes it is a spam post but the author of that thread is not too bad in posting. I have crossed check the posting style of the guy, and all what he needs to do is to be on track with bitcoin discussion threads and avoid spamming and shitposts. And I don't know why newbies e no wan learn, see as igeh create dis thread yet this guys see it and ignore it then create their spamming threads. So time e go to tag them so that ndem go learn from it.

Dem don give warning since last year but newbies e no wan hear. Dey just take di board as a social media platforms discussion. And I think dis one go be a good lesson to dem. Since dem no wan learn from di warning dem go learn from dis one.

After tagging accounts, what if those people keep on posting? Are you still going to increase their tag, or will you ask theymos to ban their account?
 
Some people will have useful posts that are not really about bitcoin or cryptocurrency, but they will be useful to the community, but they will be scared to post them because they might think their accounts will be tagged. If the tag is taken serious, then let’s see how our local board activities will drop dramatically.
 
My suggestion is that if an account makes an off-topic post for the first time, then the account should be warned, but if the person continues, then the account can be tagged.
