In your entire gambling journey, have you ever had a series of losses to the extent you hated yourself so much for being so unlucky?

Yes I have been in this kind of situations before and this one just happen in a single day which I decided to take some extra gambling activities and gamble more than I use to and i spend more than I also use to spend, usually i could have just used an amount between 0.5$-6$ on my local curency to start the day, but that very day I deposited about $9 or so on my local currency and I walk down to slot game.

to cut the whole story shot I lost all that money that day and I deposited again and same thing happened, I was like for a game which is base on luck what happened today, it was not as if I didn’t win any single one but out of 3-5 games I might not even be lucky to win any single one and that was how the day ended.

Lol, just last night I have this experience, I also won some money, but I didn't stop for the sake of looking for more, (greedy). And in the end I lost my winnings + my capital and then deposit twice and lose again.

Very bad experience for me, but then again, it's just another gambling day for me, so I just wake up not looking backward at that losses and experience but think that life goes on and so just take that as a learning experience. And I think everyone here has his/her own experience and how to cope with it.

That's when your greed kicks in and gambling draws you in deeply You probably thought that on the 2nd deposit you can get profit again and withdraw with the first deposit profit but the opposite is happening. Gambling is like that so you have to always keep yourself under control from gambling.  I did not know how to control myself and made serious mistakes like gambling with loans. I realized this when I lost them.

A person who starts using gambling seriously for profit will have very bad results. For this gambling should always be used for fun which we sometimes forget. And then make a wrong decision and the result is very bad

Yes, I've come to some point where I blame myself for being unlucky, but it's more like I hate myself for doing gambling, or I blame myself because I have known gambling. There is a point in my gambling where I stumble a lot, which costs me a lot of money and puts me in debt. Luckily, I manage to wake up from that path that I build. That's why instead of blaming others or the luck for not siding with me, I blame myself because I do gambling and I can't control myself sometimes.

Its irresponsible for a gambler if he blames himself for being unlucky; not all gamblers have the luck to always win; and also, what do you expect from gambling? This is a world wherein you should expect to lose more than you win. News about someone getting rich from gambling is rare because it's not a common thing, so don't expect that you will enter into gambling and prosper.

It is normal to feel so sad about losses that you keep blaming yourself for not controlling the urge to gamble more than you can afford to lose. Some persons have gone as far as committing suicide because of these feelings but I have never felt this way. I have had such regrets so many times but it didn't last for a long time. I usually have such feelings when I gamble more than I can afford to lose. But I have learned to follow my gambling plans so I have not had such regrets in recent times. My gambling experience recently has been without regrets or self-hate because gambling is not just a means of getting money but I gamble also for enjoyment.

Nah! There were few regrets but not to the extent of hating my self for being unlucky. I enjoy the game actually but there are few miscalculations of my bets that made me a bit disappointed to have the said decision but it's all part of the game really.

I personally don't hate my self because of excessive gambling loss I just accepted it right away that it is part of gambling itself.

No hate to be honest as I am now a responsible gambler compared to my previous years, I learned a lot of lessons from my own mistakes and others who share their experiences here on this forum.

As long as money is involved and the loss is huge, it really doesn't matter how it was lost, I would just hate myself for such a distasteful decision and the consequences that would follow.

I have had some experiences though and it may not be as serious as the guy in this story who placed bet twice in a day, but whenever I did place a bet, it becomes an issue to see the result, so I don't bother checking because I know somehow I lost and the pain of checking to confirm only makes the matter so much more painful to have lost yet again.

I simply just zero my mind and do it for fun instead of spending money with hopes of winning and then go weeks unend without a single win.

I don't blame or hate myself in any case of losing a/some bet afterall I bet with the amount of money I can afford to lose and I can only feel a sense of aggressiveness towards some people at moment after some time I would forget about my losses and move on of course I did my analysis before placing my bets so if I lose I count myself unlucky, I have the believe that there are more opportunities ahead and in as much as  I have extra money to fund my account there is no qualms, Moreso I bet mostly on soccer matches so that means I only bet on weekends occasionally during midweek Uefa league matches matches thus that reduces the idea of betting everyday and prevent addiction to gambling.

because of the way I easily get addicted to doing certain things, I don't allow myself to gamble to the extent where it would become a serious threat to my emotional well-being and so I haven't gambled to the extent where I hated myself for going that far.

But I have had a course mate in my undergraduate days that used all the money his parent gave him for is school fees to play gamble and lost it all out and was unable to pay off his fees and thet coursed him a serious problem in his studies that resulted in him having an extra year in school and till date, he is seriously regretted his habit. Gambling is not to be followed up as something your life depends entirely on if not you're going to learn your lesson the hard way. Gamble with an amount you can afford to loose and find yourself something reasonable to do with your life so you will live a balanced life.

I myself had experienced it and just like most of us, I lost my whole bankroll in an instant because I became tired of the losing streak. Thinking that all of my unluck was released and the "all-in" will be my lucky bet. You will instantly think about your actions after you lose on a scenario like this, you have no choice to continue since you don't have funds anymore, all you can do is to regret and move on.

I've never hated myself after losing a bet simply because I gamble just for fun. Yes, losing is a part of gambling, so why should I hate myself for that?  Of course, you should never bet more than you can afford to lose.

I don't think about "hate" but I will admit my mistakes. But in the process of gambling, I learned to be responsible when playing, and there is nothing beyond my control to be upset with everything around me.

And honestly, I feel pretty lucky when I gamble, so not only was the experience good, but the results made me happy. But I have lost many times, and I still smile that this is simply a game and I am the one who controls it, not letting it control the other way around.

It's good he now hates himself, if anyone had advised him, he would have taken the advice for granted, at least now he can make a decision on his own.  It is okay he realised early and can retrace his steps. He will heal.

Many gamblers fall into this category, they won't stop gambling until they lose everything. They keep encouraging themselves that the next gambling session will be that big opportunity to win. When they are in this mode, they ignore all forms of warning signals. They learn best when they meet their own misfortune.

I have made quite a number of losses in the past but it is not up to the amount that will make me hate myself. I am not a regular gambler but whenever I decide to, I gamble with very small amounts where I do not have to mourn over my loss. I never have hated myself for losing in gambling as no one forced me into it.It was my decision to go there and try my luck and when you lose trying your luck there is nothing wrong.What is wrong though in my opinion is that the slot providers never tells us real time RTP and they give us a fixed one which no one can really explain it in a human understandable way.

This is one of the things I have seen happen to my close family where he had a big problem when he tried to enter the casino, he just played there for the first time and he brought all the money he had saved however, He lost all of it. He locked up himself in his room for a few days, crying, and then he came to the point where he almost committed suicide, sorry for the word, but it was true. It had a profound effect on him, It was one of the things he regretted and it was the key to his learning in Life. This is also one of the reasons why he quit gambling, and thankfully he stopped, especially that he's working abroad after that incident.

This the feeling one can have when their is much expectation to make money in gambling and this feeling is very terrible. With the understanding I have towards gambling I don't think I will play and get to the point that I will hate my self, I think at this point it is not just addiction that is the case but it has gotten to the point of depression.   It is always advisable that when playing gambling and it has start changing your moods and feeling , the next step one needs to take is to stop playing.

Gambling is a very unpredictable game that sometimes it happens that one can play and never to win any game through out, when the loses are increasing it is just better to pause.  Gambling is a game that people needs to apply wisdom,  if people just continue playing without any reasoning I think it can land them into serious problems that may be beyond their strength to control . Gambling is not a way to make fast money , if people should understand this I don't think they will be have much issues with the effect of gambling.

Those experiences do occur to me but disappears after sleeping over it. The game is over, I'd remind myself. Then spend some weeks without gambling as a means of thinking of my mistakes. Because moving on to a fresh gambling session after the previous losses could be detrimental to gaming skills, and affects the emotions, which could lead to more mistakes. I've been in some situations where the money lost not only pained me, but the doubt I had on the predictions which could have landed me a win, got me worried. Gambling offers unique experiences to gamblers, and we need to understand that it's not meant to make us feel so bad of ourselves. What matters is staying responsible and maintaining our bankroll henceforth. The past moves so fast, and we have to run to the future, such that the past don't remain in our memory. Most gamblers who don't let go of their huge losses, end up wondering over the past that they forget what to do in the present.

Interesting, I'm not sure if there are many gamblers who experience the same thing as you say. you know, maybe on a lighter scale there are many gamblers who have experiences almost similar to this thread. for me personally, yeah, I have experienced this phase and the situation was very complicated at that time. honestly, it is very difficult to express in words or even writing in this post. In my experience, if someone is in this phase. usually, you will be very devastated, both mentally. whether it's psychological, depression and everything related to hating ourselves for the series of gambling losses we made.

BTW, this thread is like interviewing gamblers.

But yeah, no problem, we can even share experiences with each other or learn from the experiences of members in the community. in short, in my case, I experienced a phase where I hated myself both mentally and psychologically. like regret that keeps spinning around in our brains, blaming ourselves for actions that I felt at that time were very stupid. not a few people experience this situation, needing help and assistance from other people. whether it's family, friends, yeah, at least relatives, family, can be more helpful from the psychological side of the gambler who is having a problem. if not, then it will become an even more complex problem. In this case, the point is that I experienced a phase of losing a lot of money at the gambling table. Since then, I started to reflect back and try to flashback everything. of course, thanks to the support of family, friends and myself, I can learn wisely from experience. Anyway, cases like this are not easy to resolve instantly, it is certain that each person has different phases and recovery methods. Based on my experience, so far, I am still gambling. although, at that time it had taken a break for several years. important points for me at the moment, understanding, awareness and responsibility.
